Current-dependent positive magnetoresistance in La_(0.8)Ba_(0.2)MnO_(3)ultrathin films

We report an investigation into the magnetoresistance(MR)of La_(0.8)Ba_(0.2)MnO_(3)ultrathin films with various *** the 13 nm-thick film shows the commonly reported negative magnetoresistive effect,the 6 nm-and 4 nm-thick films display unconventional positive magnetoresistive(PMR)behavior under certain *** well as the dependence on the film's thickness,it has been found that the electrical resistivity and the PMR effect of the thinner films are very dependent on the test *** example,the magnetoresistive ratio of the 4 nm-thick film changes from+46%to-37%when the current is increased from 10 nA to 100 nA under 15 kOe at 40 *** addition,the two thinner films present opposite changes in electrical resistivity with respect to the test current,i.e.,the electroresistive(ER)effect,at low *** discuss the complex magnetoresistive and ER behaviors by taking account of the weak contacts at grain boundaries between ferromagnetic metallic(FMM)*** PMR effect can be attributed to the breaking of the weak contacts due to the giant magnetostriction of the FMM grains under a magnetic *** the competing effects of the conductive filament and local Joule self-heating at grain boundaries on the transport properties,the dissimilar ER effects in the two thinner films are also *** experimental findings provide an additional approach for tuning the magnetoresistive effect in manganite films.

Transport properties of Ni/W superlattices have been studied at room temperature. Small positive magnetoresistance effect has been observed in samples with thin nickel layer thickness. Lorentz force magnetoresistance is taken into account to explain the resistance variation behavior of Ni/W superlattices in externally applied magnetic field.

Spin-glass-like behaviour and positive magnetoresistance in oxygen deficient La2／3Ca1／3MnO3-δ thin films

The magnetism and magnetoresistance (MR) in a series of oxygen-deficient La2/3Ca1/3MnO3_δ (LCMO) thin films have been investigated. Compared with the films with stoichiometric oxygen concentration, the oxygen-deficient LCMO thin films show a spin-glass-like behaviour at low temperatures, and a positive MR effect above the metal-insulator transition temperature. The mechanism of such unusual phenomena is discussed.

Simulation of Temperature-Dependent Resistivity for Manganite La1/3Ca2/3MnO3

The resistivity of the heavy-doped La1/3Ca2/3MnO3 （LCMO） is simulated using a random resistor network model, based on a phase separation scenario. The simulated results agree well with the reported experimental data, showing a transition from a charge-disordered （CDO） state embedded with a few ferromagnetic （FM） metallic clusters to a charge-ordered （CO） state, corresponding to the transition from a high-temperature paramagnetic （PM） insulating state to a low-temperature antiferromagnetic （AF） insulating state. Furthermore, we find that the number of AF/CO clusters increases with decreasing temperature, and the clusters start to connect to each other around 250K, which causes percolating in the system. The results further verify that phase separation plays a crucial role in the electrical conductivity of LCMO.

Transport dynamics analysis in ferromagnetic heterojunction using Raman spectroscopy and magnetic force microscopy

The ZnO/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3thin fi lm was epitaxially fabricated on La Al O3（100） by pulse laser *** Raman scattering on the single layer La Sr Mn O and junction ZnO/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3was investigated in a giant softening by 490 cm-1John-Teller, 620 and 703cm-1optical phonon modes. The Raman spectra La Sr Mn O and ZnO/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3were observed with distinct features, i.e., the thickness was in dependent of frequency and intensity. The dynamics results showed that the spin–orbital coupling was caused by anomalies tilt of Mn O6 octahedron. The LSMO/Zn O junction exhibited excellent junction positive magneto-resistance behavior in the temperature range of 77–300 K. The kinetic energy gain was achieved by orbital competition, strong crystal fi eld and charge order of energy band splitting. The transport orbits were in the environment of the ferromagnetic-orbital ordering. The structures of barriers could be adjusted by junction interface and domain boundary condition in terms of the presence of spin–orbital fl uctuating.

Magnetism and magnetoresistance of Er1-x SmxMn6Ge6 （x=0.2-1.0） compounds

Magnetic and transport properties of Erl-xSmxMn6Ge6 (x＝0.2-1.0) have been investigated by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and magnetization measurement. Analysis of the XRD patterns indicates that the samples with x ≤ 0.4 mainly consist of HfFe6Ge6-type phase and the samples with 0.6≤ x ≤1.0 mainly consist of YCo6Ge6-type phase (P6/mmm).The lattice constants and the unit cell volume increase with increasing Sm content. The antiferro-ferri-ferromagnetic transitions can be observed with increasing Sm content. The samples with x＝0.2 and 0.4 order antiferromagnetically at 420 and 425K, respectively. The samples with x＝0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 order from ferri- to ferromagnetically over the whole magnetic ordering temperature range. The corresponding Curie temperatures are 435, 441 and 446K, respectively. The magnetoresistance (MR) isotherms of the sample with x＝0.8, measured at various temperatures, are analysed. The magnitude of MR is found to be positive below 55K and gradually increases to a relatively large value of about 5.02%at 5K in a field of 5T as the temperature is lowered. A possible explanation for the positive MR is given.
