Energy-time and momentum-position phase spaces defined by the electron orbits in the hydrogen-like atom exhibit special properties of equivalence. It is demonstrated that equivalence of the same kind can be obtained for the phase-space areas defined by the orbit pairs of planets, or satellites, which compose the solar system. In the choice of the examined areas it is useful to be guided by the Bohr-Sommerfeld atomic theory.

A Fock-Darwin system in noncommutative quantum mechanics is studied. By constructing Heisenberg algebra we obtain the levels on noncommutative space and noncommutative phase space, and give the corrections to the results in usual quantum mechanics. Moreover, to search the difference among the three spaces, the degeneracy is analysed by two ways, the value of ω/ωe and certain algebra realization （SU（2）and SU（1,1））, and some interesting properties in the magnetic field limit are exhibited, such as totally different degeneracy and magic number distribution for the given frequency or mass of a system in strong magnetic field.

We calculate the long-range Van der Waals force and the photoelectric cross section in a noncommutative setup. It is argued that non-commutativity effects could not be discerned for the Van der Waals interactions. The result for the photoelectric effect shows deviation from the usual commutative one, which in principle can be used to put bounds on the space-space non-commutativity parameter.

Dynamical fluctuation of target evaporated black particles is investigated in both forward and backward hemispheres within the framework of multi-dimensional factorial moment methodology using the brilliant concept of the Hurst exponent. We analyse the black particles emitted in ^32S-AgBr interactions at 200AGeV and it is evident that the dynamical fluctuation in the backward hemisphere is self-affine. In the forward hemisphere, dynamical fluctuation is self-similar but not self-affine. However, study indicates that the fluctuation in the forward hemisphere is more pronounced than that in backward hemisphere.

We review recent developments in the theory of quantum dynamics in ultracold atomic physics, including exact techniques and methods based on phase-space mappings that are applicable when the complexity becomes exponentially large. phase-space representations include the truncated Wigner, positive-P and general Gaussian operator representations which can treat both bosons and fermions. These phase-space methods include both traditional approaches using a phase-space of classical dimension, and more recent methods that use a non-classical phase-space of increased dimensionality. Examples used include quantum Einstein Podolsky-Rosen （EPR） entanglement of a four-mode BEC, time-reversal tests of dephasing in single-mode traps, BEC quantum collisions with up to 106 modes and 105 interacting particles, quantum interferometry in a multi-mode trap with nonlinear absorption, and the theory of quantum entropy in phase-space. We also treat the approach of variational optimization of the sampling error, giving an elementary example of a nonlinear oscillator.

Two-proton emissions from the excited states of 17,18Ne, 28P and 28,29S were investigated experimentally by the radioactive beams bombarding on the 197Au target via the Coulomb excitation. The complete-kinematics measurements were actualized by the stacks of silicon-strip detectors and CsI+PIN array detectors. The invariant mass of final systems as well as the relative momentum, opening angle, and relative energy of the two emitted protons was reconstructed under the framework of relativ istic kinematics. Visible proton-proton correlations were observed in these systems. The mechanisms of two-proton emission were analyzed in a simple schematic model, in which the extreme decay modes like He cluster emission, three-body 2 phase-space decay, and two-body sequential decay were taken into account. With the help of Monte-Carlo simulations, the two protons emitted from the 6.15 MeV excited state of Ne and the excited states in the energy region of 9.6–10.4 MeV of S, 18 29 respectively, exhibited prominent features of2 He cluster decay while for the other cases, no obvious diproton emissions were observed.

Discontinuous and long-duration thunderstorm weather, which occurred at Guanghan in Sichuan Province, was analyzed and predicted using structural conversion of irregular information in phase-space from self-recording “time sequence” records for predicting rain areas, as described in the “Non Destructive Information” method proposed by Professor OuYang Shoucheng. The results show that this method can reveal important changes of weather as well as, by using irregular self-recording information recorded every ten minutes, predict local thunderstorms with durations of only half an hour, and even predict intense convections 12 hours in advance. This is significant for civil and military aviation. It shows the necessity of full utilization of information from automatic weather stations and the necessity of improvements in recording modes in current automatic stations.

The choice of a particular Artificial Neural Network (ANN) structure is a seemingly difficult task;worthy of relevance is that there is no systematic way for establishing a suitable architecture. In view of this, the study looked at the effects of ANN structural complexity and data pre-processing regime on its forecast performance. To address this aim, two ANN structural configurations: 1) Single-hidden layer, and 2) Double-hidden layer feed-forward back propagation network were employed. Results obtained revealed generally that: a) ANN comprised of double hidden layers tends to be less robust and converges with less accuracy than its single-hidden layer counterpart under identical situations;b) for a univariate time series, phase-space reconstruction using embedding dimension which is based on dynamical systems theory is an effective way for determining the appropriate number of ANN input neurons, and c) data pre-processing via the scaling approach excessively limits the output range of the transfer function.
