Correlation between travel experiences and post-COVID outbound tourism intention:a case study from China

The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated global tourism and recovery is proceeding very *** many countries,tourism served as a major economic sector,so investigating how to recover is *** China was the largest source of outbound travelers before the outbreak,study of the factors influencing Chinese intentions to travel overseas in the post-COVID era is *** Apr.2022,among seven provinces(or cities)with the most outbound tourists from 2019 to 2021,2450 individuals responded to a questionnaire on daily mobility,tourism experiences,and the shifts due to the *** gradient boosting machine(LightGBM),a robust ensemble learning method,was adopted to quantify and visualize the impact of explanatory factors on outbound travel *** addition,the Optuna mechanism and Shapley additive explanation(SHAP)instruments were employed for tuning hyperparameters and interpreting results,*** suggest neither one-day nor multi-day tours have resumed to pre-COVID *** frequency of multi-day tours with further destinations,less car utilization in daily shopping trips,and moderate pandemic restrictions can boost the intention to travel *** concerns and desires of different age groups for overseas travel need different *** study reveals the factors affecting Chinese outbound travel intentions and provides suggestions for the recovery of tourism in the post-COVID period.

Disproportionate development of outbound tourism in China:an international comparison

China’s outbound tourism boomed during the several years from the end of 1990s to the beginning of the twenty-first century,with an annual growth of over 20%.In 2002,China’s outbound tourists reached 16,600,000,surpassing that of Japan(16,520,000)for the first time,and China thus became the largest source in *** was also the transition stage during which per capita GDP increased from US$1,000 to US$2,*** outbound policies have important impacts on outbound tourism,the final determinant is economic,namely,effective *** scholars believe that China has reached a new phase of tourist *** even propose that outbound tourism demand increases rapidly when GDP reaches$1,000,and intercontinental tourism demand surges when per capita GDP reaches$3,***,the authors hold a different *** paper compares the developments of outbound tourism from Japan,South Korea,and Taiwan,and finds that:(1)the threshold value of outbound tourism explosion occurs when per capita GDP and per capita income approaches$10,000;(2)surpassing$10,000 is a prerequisite for the period if steadily increasing outbound *** on a comparison of the relationship of tourism development and economic background,the paper proposes that China’s outbound tourism has outpaced economic growth as the result of income polarization.

Relationship Between National Income, Institutional Change and outbound tourism Based on Panel Data of the G20 from 1995 to 2014

Based on panel data of 17 economies in the G20 from 1995 to 2014,this paper,in terms of the total samples,developed countries and developing countries,explored the impact of national income on outbound tourism and the moderating effect of institutional change on the relationship between national income and outbound *** results showed that:(1)for the total samples,developed countries and developing countries,national income had a positive impact on outbound tourism;(2)for the total samples and developing countries,institutional change had a positive moderating effect on national income and outbound tourism,indicating that with the deepening of marketization,the facilitating role of national income on outbound tourism strengthened;(3)for developed countries,institutional change had a negative moderating effect on national income and outbound tourism,indicating that with the deepening of marketization,the facilitating role of national income on outbound tourism weakened.

客观认知中国出境旅游活动及出境旅游者行为，是涉及旅游跨文化交流过程的重要问题，关系到社会对于出境旅游的整体态度以及跨文化交流的效果，进而也会影响到对于出境旅游跨文化交流的管理与引导。在互联网环境下，网络舆论对于出境旅游问题的反应比较迅速，是研究出境旅游认知的重要途径。文章基于互联网的大数据来源，综合运用ROST内容挖掘系统、ROST新闻分析工具和UCINET软件进行数据分析，利用社会心理学关于社会认知研究的相关理论，从旅游跨文化交流的角度出发，研究了中国社会对于出境旅游的认知内容、特性以及与出境旅游发展过程的关系等。研究认为，中国人对于出境旅游的社会认知受到传统文化影响，具有明显的集体主义特色；出境旅游认知的维度与中国出境旅游发展的进程密切相关，可以归纳为旅游者境外形象与素质、服务要素与消费、目的地安全与事件；国人看待出境旅游的总体态度保持乐观，社会认知日趋理性。

新常态下居民消费行为和结构的变化以及国内供给能力不足对中国游客境外消费产生了深刻的影响。基于行为经济学理论，构建了游客的境外旅游消费决策模型。研究结果表明，在旅游消费心理账户和购物消费心理账户分立的情形下，游客在境外旅游时的高消费行为特别是购物高消费行为是理性的，它是境内外购物消费市场、旅游消费市场发展差异所导致的，是游客在境外旅游消费、购物消费叠加的结果。为此，应通过改善国内购物市场和旅游市场供给、降低国外品牌产品流通成本形成市场倒逼机制以避免国内旅游消费和购物消费的过度转移。

在“一带一路”倡议下，有序发展出境旅游是中国重要的战略选择，加强出境游客安全保障体系建设因而成为中国旅游产业的重要战略任务。文章基于旅责险数据、原国家旅游局风险提示数据等多源数据，综合运用ArcGis、ROST等工具和方法，从游客规模、风险结构、恐袭态势、需求结构等角度对“一带一路”沿线国家旅游安全保障的需求背景进行了探索，具体分析了中国出境游客安全保障的困境结构，并从资源架构、推进机制、重点工程等方面建构了中国出境游客安全保障体系的建设任务。研究提出，中国应形成出境旅游安全保障的跨类别资源建设架构和多主体建设机制，从政府层面的综合安全保障、产业层面的旅游安全保障市场化及国家与区域层面的旅游安全合作等重点领域进行安全保障体系建设。中国应积极培育世界级旅游安全资源企业，推动旅游安全保障资源在“一带一路”沿线国家的专业化、系统化和网络化分布。
