The nonlinear propagation of the dust-acoustic bright and dark envelope solitons in an opposite polarity dusty plasma(OPDP) system(composed of non-extensive q-distributed electrons, iso-thermal ions, and positively as well as negatively charged warm dust) has been theoretically investigated. The reductive perturbation method(which is valid for a small, but finite amplitude limit) is employed to derive the nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation. Two types of modes, namely, fast and slow dust-acoustic(DA) modes, have been observed. The conditions for the modulational instability(MI) and its growth rate in the unstable regime of the DA waves are significantly modified by the effects of non-extensive electrons, dust mass, and temperatures of different plasma species, etc. The implications of the obtained results from our current investigation in space and laboratory OPDP medium are briefly discussed.

＜正＞ZNF265-1,a member of the newly identified arginine/serinerich（SR） protein ZNF265,has been shown by our previous studies to regulate the splicing of Tra2beta *** major spliced isoform of the Tra2beta gene,Tra2betal,also encodes a pre-mRNA splicing ***,we demonstrate that two ZNF-265 transcript isoforms（ZNF265-1 and ZNF265- 2） are expressed in various mouse tissues and that ZNF265-1 is a major *** expression of ZNF265-1 in the cerebral cortex is significantly lower in relative to other tissues,which is opposite to the higher expression of Tra2betal in neural *** recombinant proteins of both ZNF265 isoforms are nuclear,in consistent with their functions as pre-mRNA splicing *** analysis with the minigenes of GluR-B（Glutamate receptor-B gene） and SMN2（spinal cord motoneural survival gene） demonstrates that ZNF265-1 inhibits the Flop exon and exon 7 usages in the splicing of two minigenes,respectively,which is opposite to the effects of *** results indicate that the ZNF265-1 and Tra2betal regulate the pre-mRNA splicing of GluR-B and SMN2 in opposite patterns.

This note is mainly concerned with the creation of oppositely converging and alternatingly converging iterative methods that have the added advantage of providing ever tighter bounds on the targeted root. By a slight parametric perturbation of Newton’s method we create an oscillating super-linear method approaching the targeted root alternatingly from above and from below. Further extension of Newton’s method creates an oppositely converging quadratic counterpart to it. This new method requires a second derivative, but for it, the average of the two opposite methods rises to become a cubic method. This note examines also the creation of high order iterative methods by a repeated specification of undetermined coefficients.

Diffractive deep neural networks(D2NNs)are composed of successive transmissive layers optimized using supervised deep learning to all-optically implement various computational tasks between an input and output ***,we present a pyramid-structured diffractive optical network design(which we term P-D2NN),optimized specifically for unidirectional image magnification and *** this design,the diffractive layers are pyramidally scaled in alignment with the direction of the image magnification or *** P-D2NN design creates high-fidelity magnified or demagnified images in only one direction,while inhibiting the image formation in the opposite direction—achieving the desired unidirectional imaging operation using a much smaller number of diffractive degrees of freedom within the optical processor ***,the P-D2NN design maintains its unidirectional image magnification/demagnification functionality across a large band of illumination wavelengths despite being trained with a single *** also designed a wavelength-multiplexed P-D2NN,where a unidirectional magnifier and a unidirectional demagnifier operate simultaneously in opposite directions,at two distinct illumination ***,we demonstrate that by cascading multiple unidirectional P-D2NN modules,we can achieve higher magnification *** efficacy of the P-D2NN architecture was also validated experimentally using terahertz illumination,successfully matching our numerical simulations.P-D2NN offers a physics-inspired strategy for designing task-specific visual processors.

One hallmark of Weyl semimetals is the emergence of Fermi arcs(FAs) in surface Brillouin zones, where FAs connect the projected Weyl nodes of opposite chiralities. Unclosed FAs can give rise to various exotic effects that have attracted tremendous research interest. Configurations of FAs are usually thought to be determined fully by the band topology of the bulk states, which seems impossible to manipulate. Here, we show that FAs can be simply modified by a surface gate voltage. Because the penetration length of the surface states depends on the in-plane momentum, a surface gate voltage induces an effective energy dispersion. As a result, a continuous deformation of the surface band can be implemented by tuning the surface gate voltage. In particular, as the saddle point of the surface band meets the Fermi energy, the topological Lifshitz transition takes place for the FAs,during which the Weyl nodes switch their partners connected by the FAs. Accordingly, the magnetic Weyl orbits composed of the FAs on opposite surfaces and chiral Landau bands inside the bulk change their *** show that such an effect can be probed by the transport measurements in a magnetic field, in which the switch-on and switch-off conductances by the surface gate voltage signal the Lifshitz transition. Our work opens a new route for manipulating the FAs by surface gates and exploring novel transport phenomena associated with the topological Lifshitz transition.
