Virtual hand is an important medium for implementation of human-computer interaction in the process of virtual assembly. And the comparability between the action of virtual hand and real man-hand has always been regarded as one of the important criteria to judge whether the virtual environment has the property of immersion. On the basis of analyzing the relative position,posture,and motion behavior relationship between virtual hand and the object to be operated during virtual assembly,this paper proposed an implementation method of combining grasp index with collision detecting technology for identifying grasp action of virtual hand. The method is to identify grasp/quit using grasp index and to implement joint angle adjustment through simulation cyclic iteration and joint angle interpolation calculation. Although some traditional method identifying the grasp action on the basis of the shape of the object is operated,the simulation result getting from virtual environment created by EON STUDIO shows that it has good features of serviceability and fidelity to realize operation control of virtual hand.

BACKGROUND Carpal tunnel syndrome(CTS)has been associated with gout and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).However,due to insufficient clinical understanding of goutrelated CTS and reliance on the diagnostic importance of elevated serum uric acid levels,such cases are prone to missed diagnosis,misdiagnosis,and delayed *** addition,the effect of T2DM on gout-induced carpal tunnel syndrome has not been *** SUMMARY Herein,we present an unusual case of CTS and motor dysfunction caused by miliary tophaceous gout and *** patient presented to the hand and foot clinic with paresthesia of the fingers of both hands,especially at *** patient was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a month *** revealed bilateral transverse carpal ligament thickening with median nerve compression during *** patient was successfully treated with carpal tunnel decompression and tendon *** postoperative pathological examination revealed typical gout *** case suggests that the presence of T2DM could accelerate tophi formation and worsen CTS symptoms,although no definitive proof in this regard has been described *** Tophi formation may most likely cause the co-occurrence of CTS and flexor dysfunction in gout and incipient diabetes patients.

The study was conducted with the aim of exploring the barriers to the adoption of BOT contract systems for infrastructural development of technical universities in Ghana. In an empirical questionnaire survey with professionals and experts in the construction and education sector, the respondents were invited to rate their perception on the barriers to the adoption of the BOT contracts systems. An interview session to satisfy ways of adopting the BOT contracts for infrastructural development in technical universities was conducted with selected professionals. The study revealed that the major barriers to the adoption of the BOT contract system are: delays in approval, corruption, reliability and credit worthiness of entities and expropriation. The study suggested that detailed policy or framework for implementing BOT contracts;proper planning by technical universities;and adequate protection for lenders is required for successful BOT implementation. Therefore there is a need to explore this concept, using adequate policy initiatives, proper measures and support from government to improve on the proper implementation of the BOT contracts in Technical Universities in Ghana.
