Geovisualisation is a knowledge-intensive art in which both providers and users need to possess a wide range of *** syntactic approaches to presenting visualisation information lack semantics on the one hand,and on the other hand are too *** limitations impede the transfer,interpretation,and reuse of the geovisualisation *** this paper,we propose a knowledge-based approach to formally represent geovisualisation knowledge in a semantically-enriched and machine-readable manner using Semantic Web ***,we represent knowledge regarding cartographic scale,data portrayal and geometry source,which are three key aspects of geovisualisation in the contemporary web mapping era,coupling ontologies and semantic *** knowledge base enables inference for deriving the corresponding geometries and portrayals for visualisation under different conditions.A prototype system is developed in which geospatial linked data are used as underlying data,and some geovisualisation knowledge is formalised into a knowledge base to visualise the data and provide rich semantics to *** proposed approach can partially form the foundation for the vision of web of knowledge for geovisualisation.

According to the FAIR guiding principles,one of the central attributes for maximizing the added value of information artifacts is *** this paper,I discuss the importance,and propose a characterization of the notion of Semantic ***,I show that a direct consequence of this view is that Semantic Interoperability cannot be achieved without the support of,on one hand,(i)ontologies,as meaning contracts capturing the conceptualizations represented in information artifacts and,on the other hand,of(ii)Ontology,as a discipline proposing formal meth-ods and theories for clarifying these conceptualizations and articulating their *** particular,I discuss the fundamental role of formal ontological theories(in the latter sense)to properly ground the construction of representation languages,as well as methodological and computational tools for supporting the engineering of ontologies(in the former sense)in the context of FAIR.

In the research field of spatiotemporal data discovery,how to utilize the semantic characteristics of spatiotemporal datasets is an important *** paper presented a content-based recommendation method,and applied Bayesian networks and ontologies into the vocabulary recommendation process for spatiotemporal data *** source data of this research was from the MUDROD(Mining and Utilizing Dataset Relevancy from Oceanographic Datasets)search *** the historical search log,major keywords were extracted and organized according to ontologies in a hierarchical *** the search history,the posterior probability between each subclass and their super class in the ontologies was calculated,indicating a recommendation *** created a Bayesian network model for inference based on *** model can address the following two objectives:(1)Given one class in the ontology,the model can judge which class has the biggest likelihood to be selected for recommendation.(2)Based on the search history of a user,the Bayesian network model can judge which class has the biggest probability to be *** experimentation with existing system and evaluation experimentation with expert knowledge show that this method is specifically helpful for spatiotemporal data discovery.

Software Project Management is a knowledge intensive process that can benefit substantially from ontology development and ontology engineering. Ontology development could facilitate or improve substantially the software development process through the improvement of knowledge management, the increase of software and artefacts reusability, and the establishment of internal consistency within project management processes of various phases of software life cycle. A large number of ontologies have been developed attempting to address various software engineering aspects, such as requirements engineering, components reuse, domain modelling, etc. In this paper, we present a systematic literature review focusing on software project management ontologies. The literature review, among other, has identified lack of standardization in terminology and concepts, lack of systematic domain modelling and use of ontologies mainly in prototype ontology systems that address rather limited aspects of software project management processes.

ontologies are widely used in modeling the real world for the purpose of information sharing and reasoning. Traditional ontologies contain only concepts and relations that describe asserted facts about the world. Modeling in a dynamic world requires taking into consideration the uncertainty that may arise in the domain. In this paper, the concept of soft sets initiated by Molodtsov and the concept of rough sets introduced by Pawlack are used to define a way of instantiating ontologies of vague domains. We define ontological algebraic operations and their properties while taking into consideration the uncertain nature of domains. We show that, by doing so, intra ontological operations and their properties are preserved and formalized as operations in a vague set of objects and can be proved algebraically.

＜正＞ We present a new way for representing documents in information retrieval systems. It is proposed as the main factor to represent a document, the relation degree between the index term pairs which describe the document. Our document representation approach is based on ontologies which are modeled by means of two kinds of different relations between index terms: the physical relation and the semantic relation.

To support semantic inter-operability between the biomedical information systems, it is necessary to determine the correspondences between the heterogeneous biomedical concepts, which is commonly known as biomedical ontology matching. Biomedical concepts are usually complex and ambiguous, which makes matching biomedical ontologies a challenge. Since none of the similarity measures can distinguish the heterogeneous biomedical concepts in any context independently, usually several similarity measures are applied together to determine the biomedical concepts mappings. However, the ignorance of the effects brought about by different biomedical concept mapping’s preference on the similarity measures significantly reduces the alignment’s quality. In this study, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)-III-based biomedical ontology matching technique is proposed to effectively match the biomedical ontologies, which first utilises an ontology partitioning technique to transform the large-scale biomedical ontology matching problem into several ontology segment-matching problems, and then uses NSGA-III to determine the optimal alignment without tuning the aggregating weights. The experiment is conducted on the anatomy track and large biomedic ontologies track which are provided by the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI), and the comparisons with OAEI’s participants show the effectiveness of the authors’ approach.

The Food and Agriculture Organization is developing a concept based multilingual vocabulary management tool to manage thesauri, authority lists and glossaries expressed as concept schemes ready to be used in a linked data environment. In this paper, we described the evolution of the AGROVOC thesaurus to AGROVOC Concept Scheme based on OWL （web ontology language） model and now shifting to SKOS （simple knowledge organization system） model. The paper explained why and how it evolved highlighting the key differences between different models. The system architecture and significant set of features available in the VocBench was discussed in the paper.

As a reflection of the relationship between human and mountainous environment, urban planning has an impact on the mountainous environment by changing the topography, landform and spatial layout. A good urban planning can mitigate and adapt to the mountainous environmental impact. Urban master planning involves the interrelationships and interactions of various components of urban complex systems. Planning Support System(PSS), as a technical means to assist planning decision-making, is mostly based on the construction mode of "user(stakeholder)-system". Its strong professional characteristics are not conducive to the consensus of diverse stakeholders on urban planning. The aim of this paper is therefore to build an augmented planning support system framework that is based on complex adaptive system theory, this framework is ontology-driven, and thus will enable the generation of a planning support prototype system for mountainous urban master planning founded on this framework. The framework fuses the urban planning ontology and the planning support system together, which helps different urban agents to reach a consensus based on a common understanding of urban planning. The defect is that the construction of the urban planning ontology is still manually constructed. The approach advocated here will enable a common understanding of mountainous urban master planning, support efficient and flexible decision in this area, and provide reference framework for future mountainous urban master PSS developments and application. The PSS prototype developed based on augmented planning support system framework has been applied to the urban master planning of Changting County in Fujian Province, China. Through the application of multiscenario analysis, urban agents can deepen their understanding of the current situation and future development of the city, and ultimately helps to promote urban planning decisions and implementation.
