The purpose of the study was to observe the effects of EA of 'Hegu' po-int, which was chosen for its specific effects on toothache, on the nociceptiveresponses of nrm neurons induced by stimulation of dental pulp or tail tip,to analyse the specificity of point for EA analgesia. The experiments were performed on male rats anesthetized with *** discharges of nrm neurons were recorded extracellularly with a glassmicroelectrode and their nociceptive responses induced by stimulation throughelectrode inserted into dental pulp of inferior incisor teeth er in one thirdof tail tip respectively.
