Identification by Antithesis and Oppositional Discourse Reproduction in Chinese Space of new media

In the space of new media, all sorts of new media events which imply oppositional moods are written, presented repeatedly, and therefore form oppositional discourse. Strangers are able to come together as netizens due to their identification by antithesis, and construct an imagined community which allows them to "unite closely" and "speak in one voice". Based on their imagined community, netizens are able to co-construct discourse presentation. This article argues that the critical step in reproduction of oppositional discourse is the providing of scripts. In order to enhance the tension of oppositional discourse, the events representation needs to be processed with overstating, such as making a scary story. The scripts of new media events are usually written according to a preset imaginative chain of "good people-bad people" under the influence of identification by antithesis.

This paper looks at the new media, communication, and political environment in both Tunisia and Egypt during and after the revolution. The new environment provided activists, politicians, civil society, and youth among others, who want to express their opinions and share their views, with various channels and means of corranunication to be part of the political action and to participate in the decision-making process. Social media played an important role in mobilizing youth to rally and protest. This is to say that a new model of communication has emerged with this new environment. The receiver has become the sender and the producer of the message. The process of communication, therefore, has been changed from one to many to from many to many, and everybody became sender and receiver at the same time. The main research question this paper aims to answer is： Are social networks enough to change the political and economic scene in the Arab World？ And is there a relationship between the new communication environment and Arab spring？ The year 2011 has been in the Arab world the year of social networks and radical changes in the political scene where a score of dictators were ousted. new political communication networks and mechanisms took place, and for the first time in Arab political communication, public opinion was a major political player. Social networks helped tremendously the formation of new public sphere where the public finds its way in the media and communication processes. At their best, new media can mobilize crowds and masses to rally and protest. They can give a social perspective to movements. However, they can＇t make change and implement democracy. After the collapse of the regimes in Tunisia and Egypt, things are not getting any better. There is no democratic transition, and both countries are experiencing complex economic, social, and political problems.

This paper is to study the role of new media in Russian-Georgian August War 2008. There are some blogs which were created by Georgian bloggers. They were trying to express civil activities, wanted to be involved in information war and provide information to western online space. The author of this paper reviews these online recourses. She is trying to study what kind of publications people could come ＂across, which one dominated-- materials based on information or on personal feelings, how frequently the blogs were renewed, how many readers visited these websites and etc. The purpose of the research is to find out how effective working with these groups was; whether the world leader TV or newspaper agencies used these alternative media publications and photos as the source of information or not. From the very beginning of the war several groups were formed in Facebook which is the unconditional leader in the social networks. The aim of these groups was to protect Georgia from Russian aggression. Most of these groups united Georgia＇s supporters but people also met supporters of Russia and Ossetia. These are open groups of interactive type where anybody and not only by the registered members could participate. The members, besides leaving comments and taking part in discussions, could also upload photos and videos. Consequently, we came across shots describing Russian aggression as well as facts of bombing Ossetia by the Georgian side.

Nowadays, with the development of the Internet, especially the mobile Internet, the appearance of WeCbat has a deep influence on the communication among people, WeChat public accounts have changed a lot to the experience of getting information for people of all ages at the same time. As a new platform for public diplomacy, many foreign embassies and consulates in China have built their own public accounts of WeChat. These public accounts have become a new type of media to learn about these countries＇ culture, society, and so on. The paper takes the WeChat public account of the US embassy in China as an example, collecting information during a period of time and summarizing their characteristics and revelations. As a model of new media public diplomacy, WeChat public accounts have a silent transforming influence of public diplomacy. In addition, the new media public diplomacy plays an important role in promoting the development of China＇s public diplomacy strategy, which increasingly becomes a useful supplement to China＇s foreign policy. Therefore, in the mobile lnternet era, the research of new media public diplomacy has an important implication.

From the perspective of cultural communication,this paper studies the cultural and economic value of the inheritance and promotion of Quzhou food culture,and analyzes the problems of Quzhou food culture in the process of communication due to the narrow market,insufficient publicity,and lack of clear development *** using the current popular new media means to spread the characteristics and flavors of Quzhou food,it is proposed to inherit and promote Quzhou food culture by creating brand effect of Quzhou food enterprises,setting Quzhou food websites,and shooting food documentaries,which will help publicize Quzhou food culture to the outside world,and thus play a positive role in promoting the local economic development of Quzhou.

Today, individuals can effectively use all kinds of communication tools with digital transformation. This transformation process is called ＂The Network Society＂ by Castells. According to Castells, people are living with long cables or networks that connect each other. With the progressing and spreading technological advances, entertainment sector is booming since 1950s even more dramatically than the computer sector. Digital games sector, in this perspective, has been the intersection area of the entertainment sector and the computer sector. We can include to these three sectors a fourth one： Communication （or media） sector. With the convergence of these four sectors, there is an enormous sea of possibilities, opportunities and problemles faced by humans. Our information society is turning into games. Today, the traditional understanding of play has been replaced by digital games. Digital games as an independent communication tool differ from traditional play in that they include a new communication medium into action. There is a different communication process in these digital games, which especially is an interest to younger generations. Digital games provide an interactive environment with individuals as they allow electiveness, mobility and non-linearity. In an era of economic angst and where real and virtual identities are being discussed, individuals of the information society are searching for something different other than mass communication. They seek after individual experiences. The main focus in this study will be to analyze the habits of play in digital games. The relationship between digital games and their users will also be examined. The quantitative study of digital games will be a useful source for future studies and will bridge the gap in this area.

This paper explores the key vocabularies, themes, ideas, artistic movements, and technological innovations contributing to the development of the digital arts over time. As new media theorists have argued, one of the defining features of the digital arts is the break-down of divisions between art forms, and between art and society （for example, Manovich 2001, 2005）. This paper outlines how digital processes intersect with aesthetic and conceptual forms. Relevant frameworks, such as materiality, embodiment, hybridity, interactivity, and narrativity, form the origins of the genre. Digital artworks, like digital media, are interactive, participatory, dynamic, and customizable, incorporating shifting data flows and real-time user inputs （Paul 2003, 67）. The customization of content and technology, as well as the recontextualization of information, characterize projects of digital art.
