Progressive neuronal degeneration of Childhood with Liver's Disease (Alpers' Disease) Clinical Features and Neuropathological Studies of 4 Sibling

We report four siblings of a family with Alpers'*** of four siblings occurred diarrhea and myoclonus at the ages of 7 to 8 years *** the disease evolution,symptoms of subacute encephalopathy such as headache,visual disturbance,cortical blindness,progressive seizures and mental retardation were presented at the ages of 15 to 20 years *** progression led them to death in multiple organ failure within six to eight months of *** showed hypodensity lesions in the bilateral oc cipital and temporal *** changes,which characterized by diffuse neuronal degeneration or loss and astrocytosis,were most severe in the gray *** matter was slightly involved,while basal ganglia,pons,brain stem and cerebellum were not *** examination of the only live brother of the four siblings showed short status(165 cm),arched feet and improper nose-pointed test of the left *** biopsy of him showed a large amount of Red-Ragged(RR)fibers and abnormal *** features and pathological findings of autopsy in all the four siblings were consistent with progressive neuronal degeneration of childhood with liver disease(PNDC)-Alpers'*** muscle biopsy showed the characteristic findings of mitochondrial *** report confirmed the classification of late onset Alpers'disease as a mitochondrial disorders.

Nuclear factor Y is a ubiquitous heterotrimeric transcription factor complex conserved across eukaryotes that binds to CCAAT boxes,one of the most common motifs found in gene promoters and *** the last 30 years,research has revealed that the nuclear factor Y complex controls many aspects of brain development,including differentiation,axon guidance,homeostasis,disease,and most recently ***,a complete understanding of transcriptional regulatory networks,including how the nuclear factor Y complex binds to specific CCAAT boxes to perform its function remains *** this review,we explore the nuclear factor Y complex’s role and mode of action during brain development,as well as how genomic technologies may expand understanding of this key regulator of gene expression.

Intranasal insulin ameliorates neurological impairment after intracerebral hemorrhage in mice

In Alzheimer’s disease and ischemic stroke,intranasal insulin can act as a neuroprotective ***,whether intranasal insulin has a neuroprotective effect in intracerebral hemorrhage and its potential mechanisms remain poorly *** this study,a mouse model of autologous blood-induced intracerebral hemorrhage was treated with 0.5,1,or 2 IU insulin via intranasal delivery,twice per day,until 24 or 72 hours after *** with saline treatment,1 IU intranasal insulin treatment significantly reduced hematoma volume and brain edema after cerebral hemorrhage,decreased blood-brain barrier permeability and neuronal degeneration damage,reduced neurobehavioral deficits,and improved the survival rate of *** levels of p-AKT and p-GSK3βwere significantly increased in the perihematoma tissues after intranasal insulin *** findings suggest that intranasal insulin therapy can protect the neurological function of mice after intracerebral hemorrhage through the AKT/GSK3βsignaling *** study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the North Sichuan Medical College of China(approval ***(A)2019(01))on January 7,2019.

Etiological characteristics and treatment of tardive dyskinesia

OBJECTIVE ： The pathogenesis of tardive dyskinesia （TD） is complicated and uncertain, Thus, there is not any effective treatment for it. The psychiatrists pay more and more attention to TD, which lasts for a long time and is difficult to treat. DATA SOURCES： A computer-based online search of Medline database was undertaken to identify articles about the feature of etiology and the progression of treatment for TD published in English by using the keywords of ＂rD, etiology, pathogenesis＂ and ＂TD, therapy, drug treatment＂. Meanwhile, Chinese articles about the feature of etiology and the progression of treatment for TD were searched in Wanfang database and China journal full-text database, and the keywords were ＂TD, etiology, pathogenesis＂ and ＂TD, therapy, drug Treatment＂ in Chinese. STUDY SELECTION： Articles met the following inclusion criteria were selected in this paper. Inclusion criteria：（1） Researches of randomized blind control design, before and after control design and retrospective. （2） Researches of the feature of etiology and the progression of treatment for TD. Exclusion criteria： the repetitive researches and individual reports. DATA EXTRACTION ： Totally 65 articles related the feature of etiology and the progression of treatment for TD of randomized blind control design, before and after control design and retrospective studies were collected, and 53 of them were accorded with the inclusion criteria. Of the 12 excluded ones, 8 were concerning with genetics, 4 were repetitive researches. DATA SYNTHESIS ： The feature of etiology for TD includes：（1） Hypothesis of dopamine receptor super-sensitivity： The dopamine receptor is persistently blocked, so it will result in functional disorder in CNS, and then TD may take place. （2）） Hypothesis of neuronal degeneration： The concentration of aminosuccinic acid and glutamic acid will increase after the antipsychotic used for a long time and this will result in neuronal degeneration through glutamic acid rec

This is a new idea that based on effective treatment of Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease with transcranial magnetoelectric stimulation technology, it can understand a hypothesis about voltage-gated Ca channels is the best target for activation by physical means, basic content:Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease etc. neuronal degeneration diseases, that closely related to physical-gated ion channels, which can be treated with physical means, activating neurotransmitters-energic neurons plays key roles in the treatment, and voltage-gated Ca channels is the best target for physical means, the purpose is to induce Ca inflowing and triggers neuronal axon terminals synaptic vesicles releasing neurotransmitters. The theory of brain cell activation sets forth the principle, method and purpose of treatment of the physical gated ion channel diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other neural degeneration diseases, and indicates that the attempt to treat these diseases using pharmaceutical and chemical approaches could shake our confidence in conquering the diseases, and the application of physical approaches or combined application of physical and chemical approaches in the treatment of some major encephalopathy may be our main research direction in the future.
