File Assignment Policy in network storage System

network storage increase capacity and scalability of storage system, data availability and enables the sharing of data among clients. When the developing network technology reduce performance gap between disk and network, however, mismatched policies and access pattern can significantly reduce network storage performance. So the strategy of data placement in system is an important factor that impacts the performance of overall system. In this paper, the two algorithms of file assignment are presented. One is Greed partition that aims at the load balance across all NADs (network Attached Disk). The other is Sort partition that tries to minimize variance of service time in each NAD. Moreover, we also compare the performance of our two algorithms in practical environment. Our experimental results show that when the size distribution (load characters) of all assigning files is closer and larger, Sort partition provides consistently better response times than Greedy algorithm. However, when the range of all assigning files is wider, there are more small files and access rate is higher, the Greedy algorithm has superior performance in compared with the Sort partition in off-line.

He Match: A redundancy layout placement scheme for erasure-coded storages in practical heterogeneous failure patterns

Erasure codes are widely used in storage systems for providing data reliability due to the advantage of high storage efficiency, while the access efficiency becomes the main shortcoming because of the extra data retrieve and decoding for accessing unavailable data. Most existing work designs erasure codes based on the ideal failure pattern where all storage nodes fail at the same rate. However in practice, the physical storage nodes fail at different rates due to the heterogeneous hardware, topologies and application behaviors. In this paper,we consider the heterogeneous failure pattern and analyze how the failure pattern impacts the overall access efficiency and reliability of erasure-coded storage systems. We propose He Match, a redundancy layout placement scheme in practical heterogeneous failure pattern for erasure-coded storage access efficiency. Specifically, we first study how the heterogeneous failure pattern impacts the access efficiency and propose a general model based on the Tanner graph to evaluate and predict the access efficiency in specific failure pattern and redundancy ***, we propose the redundancy layout placement scheme, which matches the redundancy layout with the physical storage nodes in practical heterogeneous failure patterns based on the evaluation and prediction from our model. The experimental results demonstrate that the model we propose accurately evaluates the access efficiency, and He Match saves unavailable data access cost by up to 20% and improves the system reliability as well.

Attribute-Based Re-Encryption Scheme in the Standard Model

In this paper, we propose a new attribute-based proxy re-encryption scheme, where a semi-trusted proxy, with some additional information, can transform a ciphertext under a set of attributes into a new ciphertext under another set of attributes on the same message, but not vice versa, furthermore, its security was proved in the standard model based on decisional bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption. This scheme can be used to realize fine-grained selectively sharing of encrypted data, but the general proxy rencryption scheme severely can not do it, so the proposed schemecan be thought as an improvement of general traditional proxy re-encryption scheme.

Digital signage is referred to as a smart electronic display system that shows multimedia-based information and advertisements through 2/3D LCD and LED *** digital signage normally downloads a series of multimedia files （contents） from the network storage to its local *** paper originally addresses an initial time delay caused by downloading required multimedia files before seamless *** formulate the delay problem and provide an optimal solution to find the minimum initial delay before playing a given list of the multimedia *** theorem and performance analysis with various types of playlists prove the optimality of the proposed solution.
