By using soft X-ray spectroscopy, we investigate the inner-shell excitation and relaxation processes in atomic and ionic neon targets. Resonant X-ray emission spectroscopy was applied to neutral neon atom in the regions of the [1s]np （n = 3, 4,…, ε） excited states and [1s2p]3pmp （m = 3,4） doubly excited states to obtain the spectroscopic information on the [2p]np and [2p^2]3prnp final electronic states, where square brackets indicate hole states. The energy levels of the [2p^2]3prnp （m = 3,4） electronic states were spectroscopically measured for the first time. As for the ionic neon target, on the other hand, the photoion yield spectroscopy was adopted to survey the 1s→ np （n = 2, 3） resonant excitation and subsequent Auger decay processes for Ne^＋ target-ions. The observed Ne^2＋ photoion yield spectrum is successflllly explained by the theoretical calculations based on the nmlticonfiguration Dirac-Fock method

Based on the EAST equilibrium,the effects of boron(B)and neon(Ne)injected at different locations on the target heat load,and the distributions of B and Ne particles were investigated by transport code *** was found that the B injection was more sensitive to the injection location for heat flux control than impurity *** high electron and ion densities near the inner target in the discharge with impurity B injected from over X-point(R_(1))led to plasma detachment only at the inner target,and the localized B ions in the cases with injection from outer target location(R_(2))and upstream location(R_(3))led to far-SOL detachment at the outer target,but not at the inner *** contrast,for Ne,the spatial distributions of Ne ions and electrons were found to be similar in all the cases at the three injection locations,and the detached plasma was achieved at the inner target and the electron temperature was reduced at the outer *** locations R_(2) and R_(3),impurity B showed a more pronounced effect on the heat flux at the far-SOL of the outer *** analysis indicated that Ne atoms came mainly from the recycling sources,whereas B atoms came mainly from injection,and that their distinct atomic distributions resulted from the difference in the ionization threshold and ionization mean free *** addition,the radiation proportion of B in the divertor region was larger than that of Ne when the total radiation power was similar,which suggests that B has less influence on the core region.

The interaction between neon and x-ray free-electron lasers with different laser parameters is systematically studied by solving a set of coupled rate equations. As an example, the evolution of 1s^12 s^22 p^6 configuration is given under different incident photon numbers, pulse widths, and photon energies. We have also determined all of the charge-state populations as a function of three laser pulse parameters by averaging over time. The result shows that the variations of these charge-state populations demonstrate a pattern when the pulse width is shorter than 10 fs: some of the charge-states decrease rapidly,while the others rise but remain relatively constant for pulse width larger than 10 fs. The variation of the average charge with three parameters has also obtained. The average charge decreases for a pulse width shorter than 10 fs but remains basically unchanged for a pulse width longer than 10 fs.

neon flying squid, Ommastrephes bartramii, is a squid species of the North Pacific Ocean, which plays an important economical role in the international fishery. Logbook data for Chinese squid-jigging fishery over 2004–2011 were used to evaluate the relationship between the fishing grounds of the squid and the convergent frontal areas, which were defined by the contour lines of specific sea surface temperature(SST) and chlorophyll-a(Chl-a) concentration. Our results indicate that the SST in the range of 15 to 19℃ and the Chl-a concentration in the range of 0.1 to 0.4 mg m^(-3) are the favorable conditions for the aggregation of the squid. Additionally, we deduced that the SST at 17.5℃ and the Chl-a concentration at 0.25 mg m^(-3) are the optimal environmental conditions for the aggregation of O. bartramii. In August, the annual CPUE is positively correlated with the proportion of the fishing grounds with favorable SST and Chl-a concentration, as well as the combination of the two variables, implying that the abundance of the squid annually is largely depending on the presence of the favorable environmental conditions for fishery in August. Minor spatial difference between mean latitudinal location of the 17.5℃ SST and 0.25 mg m^(-3) Chl-a fronts can increase the CPUEs of O. bartramii. Furthermore, the monthly latitudinal gravity centers of the CPUE closely followed the mean latitudinal position of the contour lines of the 17.5℃ SST and the 0.25 mg m^(-3) Chl-a concentration. Our findings suggest the convergent oceanographic features(fronts) play significant roles in regulating the distribution and abundance of the western stock of the winter-spring cohort of O. bartramii, which can help people to improve their ability to discover the O. bartramii fishing grounds with higher productivity.

Both the Jinding and Baiyangping ore deposits developed in the Lanping basin, which is a Mesozoic-Cenozoic terrestrial clastic sedimentary basin. Their occurrences can easily lead many people to compare them with the Pb-Zn deposit hosted in sedimentary rocks, such as Mississippian Valley-, Sedex- and sandstone-type Pb-Zn deposits. However, the Lanping basin developed in the settings of strong tectonic activity of the continental crust, which could cause an effective material exchange between the lower crust and the upper mantle. The orebodies are clearly tectonically controlled without syngenetic features, which probably represents a new type of the sedimentary rock-hosted Pb-Zn deposit. The isotopic compositions of noble gases in ore-forming fluids indicate that 2%32% of helium (3He/4He = 0.19 Ra1.97 Ra) is derived from the mantle, 50.1% of neon (20Ne/22Ne = 10.4510.83; 21Ne/22Ne = 0.03) from the mantle, and considerable amount of xenon (129Xe/130Xe = 5.846.86; 134Xe/130Xe = 2.262.71) from the mantle, which show that mantle fluids played an important role in the ore formation. The ore-forming age of 6760 Ma obtained by Re-Os and 40Ar-39Ar dating methods is later than the host rock, which is coeval with the Himalayan alkali magmatism of the mantle source and mantle-crust source. In this paper, the mineralization of the Jinding and Baiyangping ore deposits is considered to be related to the mantle fluids which move upward with the magma or along the deep faults, and mix with the meteoritic brine in the crust to result in large-scale deposition.

The ophiolites from the Yarlung Zangbo River (Tibet), Southwestern China, were analysed for the contents of helium and neon and their isotopic compositions by stepwise heating. The serpentinites from Bainang showed a high 3He/4He value of 32.66R a (R a is referred to the 3He/4He ratio in the present air) in 700°C fraction. At lower temperature, all of the dolerites displayed as very high 3He/4He ratios as ones investigated for hotspots. It was clear that the high 3He/4He ratio was one of immanent characterics in the magma source formed the dolerites, suggesting that there was a large amount of deep mantle fluids in these rocks. In the three-isotope diagram of neon, the data points from the ophiolites of the Yarlung Zangbo River were arranged along the Loihi Line. This is in agreement with the characteristics of helium isotopes, revealing that the high-3He plume from deep mantle had played an important role in the formation of the Neo-Tethyan Ocean. The helium isotopic compositions in the basalts were far higher than atomospheric value but lower than the average value of MORB, although there were various degrees of alteration. The possible reasons were that basaltic magmas had been contaminated by crust-derived fluids.
