Promoting effect and mechanism of neodymium on low-temperature selective catalytic reduction with NH3 over Mn/TiO2 catalysts

Series of Mn/TiO2 catalysts modified with various contents of nd for low-temperature SCR were *** can be found that the appropriate amount of nd can markedly reduce the take-off temperature of Mn/TiO2 catalyst to 80℃and NOx conversion is stabilized over 90%in the wide temperature range of 100-2600 C.0.1 nd-Mn/Ti shows higher N2 selectivity and better SO2 resistance than Mn/Ti *** results reveal that nd-doped Mn/TiO2 catalyst exhibits larger BET surface area and better dispersion of active component *** results indicate that the optimal 0.1 nd-Mn/Ti sample possesses higher concentration of Mn4+and larger amount of adsorbed oxygen at the surface compared with the unmodified *** situ DRIFTS show that the surface acidity is evidently increased after adding nd,especially,the Lewis acid sites,and the intermediate(-NH2)is more *** reaction mechanism over Mn/Ti and 0.1 nd-Mn/Ti catalysts obey the Eley-Rideal(E-R)mechanisms under low temperature reaction conditions.H2-TPR results show that nd-Mn/TiO2 catalyst exhibits better lowtemperature redox properties.

Microstructure and dry sliding wear behavior of cast Al-Mg_2Si in-situ metal matrix composite modified by nd

The microstructure and dry sliding wear behav- ior of cast Al-18 wt% MgaSi in-situ metal matrix com- posite modified by nd were investigated. Experimental results show that, after introducing a proper amount of nd, both primary and eutectic Mg2Si in the Al-18 wt% Mg2Si composite are well modified. The morphology of primary Mg2Si is changed from irregular or dendritic to polyhedral shape, and its average particle size is signifi- cantly decreased. Moreover, the morphology of the eutectic MgzSi phase is altered from flake-like to very short fibrous or dot-like. The wear rates and friction coefficient of the composites with nd are lower than those without nd. Furthermore, the addition of 0.5 wt% nd changes the wear mechanism of the composite from the combination of abrasive, adhesive, and delamination wear without nd into a single mild abrasion wear with 0.5 wt% nd.

modification of nickel supported over ZnO for HDS of thiophene with neodymium

Ni/ZnO and Ni-nd/ZnO were prepared by impregnation method, and the catalytic activities of Ni/ZnO and Ni-nd/ZnO for hydrodesulfurization （HDS） of thiophene were tested. The catalysts were characterized by temperature programmed reduction（TPR）, H2-TPD and *** results showed that Ni-nd/ZnO exhibited higher catalytic activity than Ni/ZnO, because the active surface area and the amount of HE adsorption were increased by the addition of nd. Compared with Ni/ZnO, Ni-nd/ZnO showed more HE adsorbing centers and stronger acid property, which were also in favor of the reaction.
