Residual based on a posteriori error estimates for conforming finite element solutions of incompressible navier-stokes equations with stream function form which were computed with seven recently proposed two-level method were derived. The posteriori error estimates contained additional terms in comparison to the error estimates for the solution obtained by the standard finite element method. The importance of these additional terms in the error estimates was investigated by studying their asymptotic behavior. For optimal scaled meshes, these bounds are not of higher order than of convergence of discrete solution.

Some conclusions about the smooth function classes stability for the basic system of equations of atmospheric motion and instability for navier-stokes equation are summarized. On the basis of this, by taking the basic system of equations of atmospheric motion via Boussinesq approximation as example to explain in detail that the instability about some simplified models of the basic system of equations for atmospheric motion is caused by the instability of navier-stokes equation, thereby, a principle to guarantee the stability of simplified equation is drawn in simplifying the basic system of equations.

A five-mode truncation of navier-stokes equation for a two-dimensional incompressible fluid on a torus is studied. Its stationary solutions and stability are presented, the existence of attractor and the global stability of the system are discussed. The whole process, which shows a chaos behavior approached through an involved sequence of bifurcations with the changing of Reynolds number, is simulated numerically. Based on numerical simulation results of bifurcation diagram, Lyapunov exponent spectrum, Poincare section, power spectrum and return map of the system are revealed.

The purpose of the study is to implement a new model based on the navier-stokes equations for the characterization of landslide sediments interacting with a moving fluid.The model is implemented by combining Hypermesh,the LS-DYNA software and MATLAB.The results show that the main factors affecting the permeability of landslide sediments are the genetic mechanism,the structure and composition of materials,material lithology,and stress.The characteristics and mechanism of permeability changes are determined by adjusting the water levels of fluids.It is found that the permeability of landslide sediments increases at the front and decreases in the middle and at the rear of the considered domain.The magnitude of the internal flow for the whole system decreases first and then increases with a change in the water level during seepage.

＜正＞The floating-ring divides the oil film of the bearing into two layers:namely,the inner and the outer. As well-known,the tluid flow in the thin layer between two non-concentric rotating cylinders can be regarded as the flow between two concentric cylinders with a disturbance.The present investigation revels that the flow in the inner and outer layers can be also regarded as the flow between concentric rotating floating-rings with a disturbance.Importantly,a new method is proposed for design of floating-ring in the high-speed rotating machinery.

In this paper, a full discrete two-level scheme for the unsteady navier-stokes equations based on a time dependent projection approach is proposed. In the sense of the new projection and its related space splitting, non-linearity is treated only on the coarse level subspace at each time step by solving exactly the standard Galerkin equation while a linear equation has to be solved on the fine level subspace to get the final approximation at this time step. Thus, it is a two-level based correction scheme for the standard Galerkin approximation. Stability and error estimate for this scheme are investigated in the paper.
