Quality of healing of gastric ulcers: Natural products beyond acid suppression

Gastric ulcer is a chronic disease featured with unexpected complications, including bleeding, stenosis and perforation, as well as a high incidence of recurrence. Clinical treatments for gastric ulcer have allowed the rapid development of potent anti-ulcer drugs during the last several decades. Gastric ulcer healing is successful with conventional treatments including H2-receptor antagonists, and proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) have been essential for ulcer healing and prevention of complications. Additionally, Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy is effective in reducing ulcer recurrence and leads to physiological changes in the gastric mucosa which affect the ulcer healing process. However, in spite of these advancements, some patients have suf-fered from recurrence or intractability in spite of continuous anti-ulcer therapy. A new concept of the quality of ulcer healing(QOUH) was initiated that considers the reconstruction of the mucosal structure and its function for preventing ulcer recurrence. Although several gastroprotection provided these achievements of the QOUH, which PPI or other acid suppressants did not accomplish, we found that gastroprotection that originated from Natural products, such as a newer formulation from either Artemisia or S-allyl cysteine from garlic, were very effective in the QOUH, as well as improving clinical symptoms with fewer side effects. In this review, we will introduce the importance of the QOUH in ulcer healing and the achievements from Natural products.

This paper presents an approach to determine the vulnerable components in the electricity and Natural gas networks of an islanded microgrid that is exposed to deliberate disruptions. The vulnerable components in the microgrid are identified by solving a bi-level optimization problem. The objective of the upper-level problem(the attacker's objective) is to maximize the expected operation cost of microgrid by capturing the penalties associated with the curtailed electricity and heat demands as a result of the disruption. In the lower-level problem, the adverse effects of disruptions and outages in the electricity and Natural gas networks are mitigated by leveraging the available resources in the microgrid(the defender's objective). The uncertainties in the electricity and heat demand profiles were captured by introducing scenarios with certain probabilities. The formulated bi-level optimization problem provides effective guidelines for the microgrid operator to adopt the reinforcement strategies in the interdependent Natural gas and electricity distribution networks and improve the resilience of energy supply. The presented case study shows that as more components are reinforced in the interdependent energy networks, the reinforcement cost is increased and the expected operation cost as a result of disruption is decreased.

Over the past decade,China had developed rapidly in the Natural gas industry and become one of the largest Natural gas countries in the world.From 2009 to 2019,Natural gas consumption in China had been growing rapidly with a compound annual growth rate of 13.1%,making it the world’s third largest consumer of Natural gas now.The share of Natural gas in primary energy consumption mix is constantly increasing and reaches 8.6%in 2020.Natural gas proved reserves in China grow at an compound annual growth rate of 8.9%during the past decade.

In 2018,China's Natural gas market reached a new level of development,with apparent consumption of 280.3 billion m3,up by 18.1%over the same period in the previous year.Domestic production grew steadily,reaching 157 billion m3,up by 7.2%over the same period in the previous year.Natural gas imports grew rapidly,with imports of pipeline gas and LNG totalling 124.2 billion m3.In terms of trade types,imports of LNG continue to exceed those of pipeline gas.In 2019,there has been downward pressure on the macro economy,and the development of the main gas sector has slowed down.Driven by environmental protection policies,the Natural gas market continues to maintain rapid growth.However,it is difficult for the levels of increment and growth to reach those of the previous two years,and the growth rate of market demand is predicted to reach 10.7%.

Tatural ventilation of indoor air flow and thermal comfort space plays an important role, especial y in the interior design of passive cooling factors, indoor space layout, and the location of doors, windows and other factors on the indoor Natural ventilation effect has great influence. Using the method of fluid mechanics, and Airpak3.0 software, indoor Natural ventilation for residential buildings was simulated, and the thermal comfort of indoor Natural ventilation in a residential building in Xuzhou City was analyzed to explore the effect of indoor spatial layout, location of doors, window opening types on indoor Natural ventilation. The results showed that indoor spatial layout played an essential role in indoor Natural ventilation, application of numerical simulation for the simulation of the indoor Natural ventilation and assessment of indoor Natural ventilation effect was a scientific instruction for the indoor spatial design.

HOH Xil Nature Reserve,“Hoh Xil” meaning ‘beautiful girl’ in Mongolian, is located in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Because of its harsh Natural environment, no people live here. Therefore it’s also known as the “forbidden zone for humans” or “mysterious land.” It is one of the regions on earth that humans have little knowledge of, thus preserving it as an untouched Natural paradise. Located in the northeastern corner of the Qinghai- Tibet Plateau, Hoh Xil Nature Reserve covers a large area of mountains and grassland at an altitude of more than 4,500 meters above sea level.

To review Natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) applications in clinical practice and assess the evidence base for each application as reported in the literature.An electronic literature search was performed.Inclusion criteria were publications relating to NOTES applications in humans.For each type of operation the highest level of evidence available for clinical NOTES publications was evaluated.Morbidity and short-term operative outcomes were compared with gold standard published evidence where available.Finally,registered trials recruiting patients for NOTES applications were identified.Human NOTES publications with the highest level of evidence in each application are identified.There were no RCTs in the literature to date.The strongest evidence came in the form of large,multi-centre trials with 300-500 patients.The results are encouraging,comparable with gold standard techniques on morbidity and mortality.While short-term operative outcomes were also simi-lar when compared to the gold standard techniques,other than improved cosmesis little else can definitely be concluded as a clear benefit of a NOTES procedure.The most common procedures are cholecystectomy,appendicectomy and peritoneoscopy mainly performed via transvaginal access.It is evident that morbidity appears to be higher when the transgastric route is used.The safety profile of hybrid NOTES transvaginal procedures is beginning to be confirmed as is evident from the large number of procedures presented in this review.A number of authors have presented work on pure NOTES procedures but the results are inconsistent and thus the vast majority of NOTES procedures worldwide are performed in a hybrid fashion with a variable amount of laparoscopy.This review of the clinical applications of NOTES summarises the growing evidence behind this surgical discipline and highlights NOTES procedures with an acceptable safety profile.

The breeding activities aimed to create a Natural green cocoon variety for spring rearing with the characteristics of stable Natural cocoon color,easy rearing and good silk quality.Four different lines from the excellent silkworm variety Jingsong×Haoyue were taken as recurrent parents,using the Natural green cocoon variety G 9202 as donor parent.After other excellent parents were introduced to cross with these different lines,four new breeding materials were selected by recurrent backcross breeding.The characters of these breeding materials showed not only Natural green cocoon but also excellent comprehensive traits.A Naturally colored cocoon quaternary hybrid with excellent practical characters was selected based on multiple hybrids.It is suitable for spring rearing in Yangtze valley which includes Hunan Province.It was approved by Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee and designated Xiangcailu No.1 in 2016.
