Film condensation is a vital phenomenon in the nuclear engineering applications,such as the gas-steam pressurizer design,and heat removing on containment in the case of postulated accident.Reynolds number in film condensation can be calculated from either the mass relation or the energy relation,but few researches have distinguished the difference between them at present.This paper studies the effect of Reynolds correlation in the Natural convection film condensation on the outer tube.The general forms of the heat transfer coefficient correlation of film condensation are developed in different flow regimes.By simultaneously solving a set of the heat transfer coefficient correlations with Re_(mass) and Re_(energy),the general expressions for Re_(mass) and Re_(energy) and the relation between the corresponding heat transfer coefficients are obtained.In the laminar and wavefree flow regime,Re_(mass) and Re_(energy) are equivalent,while in the laminar and wavy flow regime,Re_(mass) is much smaller than Re_(energy),and the deviation of the corresponding average heat transfer coefficients is about 30% at the maximum.In the turbulent flow regime,the relation of Re_(mass) and Re_(energy)is greatly influenced by Prandtl number.The relative deviation of their average heat transfer coefficients is the nonlinear function of Reynolds number and Prandtl number.Compared with experimental results,the heat transfer coefficient calculated from Re_(energy) is more accurate.

We report a case of Natural killer(NK)/T-cell lymphoma with concomitant syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion(SIADH).The patient was a 64-yearold woman with a history of nasopharyngeal carcinoma of over 30 years.She was admitted with a chief complaint of intermittent fever for 2 mo.Palpation after admission indicated a swollen lymph node below the left jaw.Multiple imaging examinations on admission indicated multiple enlarged lymph nodes throughout the body.We performed a left submandibular lymph node biopsy,and the results revealed NK/T-cell lymphoma.A biochemical examination indicated Epstein-Barr virus positivity.At the same time,the patient developed hyponatremia.Based on her laboratory examination and clinical manifestation,decreased plasma osmolality,urine osmolality greater than plasma osmolality,lack of skin swelling,normal blood pressure,normal renal function,no adrenal function detected on serology,and no abnormalities in imaging examination of the adrenal glands,the likelihood of SIADH in the patient was high.After fluid restriction and administration of sodium chloride,the patient’s blood sodium level gradually increased.Subsequently,the immune function of the patient declined,there were severe symptoms of infection,and she died of respiratory failure.NK/T-cell lymphoma associated with SIADH has not,to our knowledge,been previously reported in PubMed.This case emphasizes the importance of monitoring serum ion levels,especially serum sodium,in patients with NK/T-cell lymphoma.

Low Mach number flows are common and typical in industrial applications. When simulating these flows, performance of traditional compressible flow solvers can deteriorate in terms of both efficiency and accuracy. In this paper, a new high-order numerical method for two-dimensional(2-D)state low Mach number flows is proposed by combining flux reconstruction(FR)and preconditioning. Firstly, a Couette flow problem is used to assess the efficiency and accuracy of preconditioned FR. It is found that the FR scheme with preconditioning is much more efficient than the original FR scheme. Meanwhile,this improvement still preserves the numerical accuracy. Using this new method and without the Boussinesq assumption,classic Natural convection is directly simulated for cases of small and large temperature differences. For the small temperature difference, a p and h refinement study is conducted to verify the grid convergence and accuracy. Then, the influence of the Rayleigh number (Ra) is analyzed. By comparing with the reference results, the numerical results of preconditioned FR is very close to that calculated by incompressible solvers. Furthermore, a large temperature difference test case is calculated and analyzed, indicating this method is not limited by the Boussinesq assumption and is also applicable to heat convection with large temperature differences.

Advanced wound dressings are replaced traditional dressings in order to provide appropriate environment for healing and also to promote cell migration[1].The key characteristics of wound dressings are non-toxic,highly absorbed,air permeable,biocompatible and have good mechanical properties[2].Due to providing moist environment and also protecting maceration at the wound edge area,foam dressings are used in various clinical applications[3].They are mostly prepared from polyurethane between polyols and isocyanate polymerization.

Modeling Impact of Natural Hazard-Induced Disasters on Income Distribution in the United States

Economic damage due to hurricane activities has been shown to impact income inequality in the coastal states of the United States. We consider 17 other Natural hazards, in addition to hurricanes, that affected the entire United States for the period 1970–2013. Two fixed effects models were developed to quantify the relationship between income inequality and economic and demographic variables, including crop and property losses from Natural hazard-induced disasters. These models include state-byyear and region-by-year fixed effects models. Our findings show that the damages from all Natural hazards impact income distribution across the United States, not only in hurricane-affected areas, but also in non-hurricane states.The results of our study have important implications for the insurance industry and government policymakers.

The special geography and human environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has created the unique hydrochemical characteristics of the region’s Natural water,which has been preserved in a largely Natural state.However,as the intensity of anthropogenic activities in the region has continued to increase,the water environment and hydrochemical characteristics of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau have altered.In this study,water samples from the western,southern,and northeastern border areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,where human activities are ongoing,were collected,analyzed,and measured.The regional differences and factors controlling them were also investigated.The key results were obtained as follows.(1) Differences in the physical properties and hydrochemical characteristics,and their controlling factors,occurred in the different boundary areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.These differences were mainly the consequence of the geographical environment and geological conditions.(2) The water quality was good and suitable for drinking,with most samples meeting GB (Chinese national) and WHO (World Health Organization) drinking water standards.(3) The chemical properties of water were mainly controlled by the weathering of carbonates and the dissolution of evaporative rocks,with the former the most influential.(4) The biological quality indicators of Natural water in the border areas were far superior to GB and WHO drinking water standards.

Background:Nasal-type extranodal Natural killer/T-cell lymphoma(ENKTCL) originates primarily in the nasal cavity or extra-nasal sites within the upper aerodigestive tract.However,it is unclear whether the primary site can serve as an independent prognostic factor or whether the varying clinical outcomes observed with different primary sites can be attributed merely to their propensities of regional lymph node involvement.The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic implications of the primary site and regional lymph node involvement in patients with early-stage nasal-type ENKTCL.Methods:To develop a nomogram,we reviewed the clinical data of 215 consecutively diagnosed patients with early-stage nasal-type ENKTCL who were treated in Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center with chemotherapy and radiotherapy between 2000 and 2011.The predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram were determined using a concordance index(C-index) and calibration curve.Results:The 5-year overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS) rates of patients with nasal ENKTCL were higher than those of patients with extra-nasal ENKTCL(OS:68.2%vs.46.0%,P = 0.030;PFS:53.4%vs.26.6%,P = 0.010).The 5-year OS and PFS rates of patients with Ann Arbor stage IE ENKTCL were higher than those of patients with Ann Arbor stage HE ENKTCL(OS:66.3%vs.59.2%,P = 0.003;PFS:51.4%vs.40.3%,P = 0.009).Multivariate analysis showed that age >60 years,ECOG performance status score >2,elevated lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) level,extranasal primary site,and regional lymph node involvement were significantly associated with lower 5-year OS rate;age >60 years,elevated LDH level,extra-nasal primary site,and regional lymph node involvement were significantly associated with lower 5-year PFS rate.The nomogram included the primary site and regional lymph node involvement based on multivariate analysis.The calibration curve showed good agreement between the predicted and actual 5-year OS and PFS rates,and the C-indexes of the nomogram for the OS a

Plant Diversity Performance After Natural Restoration in Reclaimed Deyeuxia angustifolia Wetland

Deyeuxia angustifolia wetlands were widely distributed in the Sanjiang Plain in Northeast China. Due to strong demand for food production, large-area wetlands were reclaimed to farmlands, which threatened regional ecological security greatly. Since the 21 th century, returning farmlands to wetlands was widely adopted for Natural restoration in the Sangjiang Plain. As the first reflection of wetland restoration, vegetation succession of restored D. angustifolia wetlands should be fully assessed. In this study, vegetation investigation was carried out in three restored D. angustifolia wetlands with 5, 8 and 12 yr restoration, respectively. Meanwhile, a Natural D. angustifolia wetland was selected as reference wetland. Results showed that community composition changed greatly and there was visible community succession. Community dominant species changed from composite to gramineae as restoration time increasing.At first, weeds community appeared in the restored wetlands, especially the xerophytes developed to the pioneer species rapidly. And then, mesophytes and wetland species became the dominant species in the restored wetlands. Finally, wetland species, especially D. angustifolia, occupied the dominant position of restored community. Shannon-wiener index(H) and Simpson index(D) both decreased to close to Natural D. angustifolia wetlands. Compared with Natural D. angustifolia wetland, species composition and diversity in restored wetlands were more complex and higher. As restoration time increasing, there were not significant differences between community characteristics of restored wetlands and Natural wetland. All these suggested that vegetation in reclaimed D. angustifolia wetland could be restored Naturally, but its restored period is 10 yr at least. From another angle, it is important to protect current Natural wetlands.

The effects of urban remnant Natural evergreen broad-leaved forest (EBLF) on the restoration of artificial pine forests surrounding it were studied with reference to species composition,biodiversity,dominant species and stand structure on Mt. Tieshanping in Chongqing metropolis,Southwest China. The seeds from the remnant EBLF Naturally facilitate the restoration process of artificial Pinus massoniana forests near it. The similarity of species composition between the artificial Pinus massoniana forests and the remnant EBLF and biodiversity index of the artificial Pinus massoniana forests decrease as the distance from the remnant EBLF increases. Castanopsis carlesii var. spinusa is the dominant species in the ground vegetation,shrub layer and sub-tree layer of the Pinus massoniana forests near the remnant EBLF. However,the Natural restoration processes of those farther away from the remnant EBLF are restricted for the absence of seed source of the inherent components of the remnant EBLF,and the anthropogenic measures should be taken to facilitate the restoration process.
