High efficiency,high power QCW diode-side-pumped Nd:YAG ceramic laser at 1064 nm based on domestic ceramic

A high efficiency, high power diode-side-pumped quasi continuous wave （QCW） Nd：YAG ceramic rod laser at 1064 nm based on the domestic transparent ceramic is reported. The average output power of 961 W is achieved with double ceramic rods by means of a symmetrical convex-convex cavity. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is 38.3% and the slope efficiency is 45.3%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest level of efficiency achieved for the domestic Nd：YAG ceramic rod laser.

We propose and demonstrate a laser-diode-pumped, maglev rotating Nd：YAG disk laser. The disk of the laser crystal is attached to a maglev pyrolytic graphite disk and is rotated by compressed gas. In this rotating disk laser, the detrimental thermal effects are alleviated and the laser can be operated in the single transverse electromagnetic （TEM）_（00） mode with high brightness. In our proof-of-concept experiment, we achieve a 17.7 mW laser output at 447 mW of absorbed pump power and a ~4 Hz rotation frequency.

We design a laser diode （LD） end-pumped passively mode-locked solid-state laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror. Mode-matching efficiency in the active medium including the thermal effect is analyzed, and the optimum mode-matching coefficient is obtained by optimizing the pump mode. In the experiment, a total power of 4.2 W stable pulse sequences without multipulse at 1064 nm is obtained with a pulse repetition rate of 86 MHz and a pulse width of 13 ps, corresponding to a high optical to optical efficiency of 44%.

A two-dimensional （2D） distributed feedback （DFB） structure is fabricated on dye-doped sol-gel derived hybrid zirconia films by soft lithography. The Q-switched Nd：YAG laser （）~ = 532 nm） is used to pump these structures. The lasing emissions of the gain medium doped with Rhodamine 6G （Rh6G） in two perpendicular directions are shown, and the threshold pump energy is measured.

Lower tropospheric water vapor measurements are performed at nighttime using the mobile atmosphere monitoring lidar-2（AML-2） which is operated by the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine *** this lidar system,a 354.7-nm light from a Nd：YAG laser is used as stimulating source,whose Raman shifted center wavelengths are at 386.7 and 407.5 nm for nitrogen and water vapor,*** present a novel and convenient method for determining the Raman lidar calibration constant according to the scanning performance of this *** are likewise able to realize the measurement of water vapor profile in the low *** error induced by the uncertainty of calibrated constants is within 7% for the Raman lidar *** results from two months of study indicate that the method of calibrating the lidar system constant is feasible,and the Raman lidar performance is stable and reliable.

A 1.88μm Ba（N3）2-based stimulated Raman scattering（SRS） laser pumped by a potassium-titanylphosphate-based optical parametric oscillator（OPO） laser is *** the pumping energy of a130 mJ 1064 nm Q-switched Nd：YAG laser,a 40 mJ 1.57μm laser is achieved;the maximum output energy of the 1.88μm Raman laser reaches 7.5 mJ with a pulse duration of 5.3 ns at repetition rates of 10 Hz,and the corresponding total optical conversion efficiency is about 5.8%.The combination of the SRS and OPO techniques significantly extends the wavelength from 1.064 to 1.57μm（OPO） and then demonstrates Stokes-shifting to 1.88μm（SRS）.

We present an experimental study of a continuous-wave Nd： YVO4 laser diode-pumped directly in band at 880 nm. By using a compact positive confocal unstable-stable hybrid resonator, a maximal laser output of 170 W at 1064 nm is realized. The slope efficiency and optical-to-optical efficiency are 56.7% and 51.3%, respectively. The M2 factors in the unstable direction and in the stable direction they are 1.9 and 1.3, respectively.

A passively Q-switched Nd YAG eye-safe laser operating at 1444nm with graphene as a saturable absorber is reported. Under a pump power of 23.7W, the maximum average output power, minimum pulse width, pulse repetition rate and single pulse energy are 411mW, 560ns, 85 kHz, and 4.83μJ, respectively. This is the first demonstration of a Nd： YAG eye-safe laser passively Q-switched by graphene.

An efficient and high power 1053 nm electro-optic Q-switched Nd：LiLuF4 laser, end-pumped by two fiber coupled laser diodes at wavelength 806 nm, is reported for the first time. With an incident pump power of 24.4 W, the maximum laser output power of 7.3 W is achieved in free-running mode, and the optical conversion efficiency is 29.8%. For the Q-switched operation, the shortest pulse width of 17ns is obtained at the pulse repetition rate of 500 Hz, corresponding to the pulse energy of 5.9mJ with the peak power of 0.35 MW.
