Mercury adsorption characteristics of HBr-modified fly ash in an entrained-flow reactor

In this study, the mercury adsorption characteristics of HBr-modified fly ash in an entrained-flow reactor were investigated through thermal decomposition methods. The results show that the mercury adsorption performance of the HBr-modified fly ash was enhanced significantly. The mercury species adsorbed by unmodified fly ash were Hg Cl2,Hg S and Hg O. The mercury adsorbed by HBr-modified fly ash, in the entrained-flow reactor,existed in two forms, Hg Br2 and Hg O, and the HBr was the dominant factor promoting oxidation of elemental mercury in the entrained-flow reactor. In the current study, the concentration of Hg Br2 and Hg O in ash from the fine ash vessel was 4.6 times greater than for ash from the coarse ash vessel. The fine ash had better mercury adsorption performance than coarse ash, which is most likely due to the higher specific surface area and longer residence time.

This study investigated the stabilization of heavy metals by adding modified fly ash(FA)to contaminated soils,and two similar materials,NaOH-zeolite(ZE)and natural zeolite(ZO)were introduced into the soils for *** leaching tests were conducted to analyze the difference of stabilization effects between the three *** columns were run for 6 months,and a considerable stabilization of heavy metals in the soils was *** concentration of cadmium(Cd)and lead(Pb)in the amended soil substantially decreased(pmodified FA and ZE were better than those of natural *** FA,after modification,is a useful amendment for the remediation of heavy metals in the contaminated soil.

The comprehensive utilization of fly ash mainly concentrated is in construction engineering channels, road engineering, it used to deal with waste water is full of hope. As this, it can achieve the purpose of using the waste to conduct waste. fly ash was modified by a microwave radiation. This method was simple and easy to operate. When the dosage of modified fly ash is 4g, the p H value is 6.2, the mixing time is 50 min, the initial concentration of copper solution is 1.85mg/L, Adsorption rate of modified fly ash on Cu2+ reached 96%.
