Internetware,a new software paradigm,enables systems to be built and evolved for better service quality according to changes in the environment.However,at the same time Internetware greatly complicates system management tasks due to the autonomy,cooperation and evolution of its components.In fact,the configuration of large-scale Internet-based software in the real scenarios is likely to involve a large number of components and hundreds of associated configuration options with variables,whose values may be dynamically determined depending on the execution environment,or to cope with needs of customers.In this paper,we firstly analyze the configuration issues of Internetware,and then present a Model-Based engineering approach to managing the configuration for Internetware systematically.based on the Architecture based Composition model,an internetware configuration process model is proposed that abstracts the configuration in the lifecycle of Internetware.Focusing on the fundamental activities in configuration process,the methods and mechanisms of analyzing and performing the configuration in terms of its constraints,dependencies,heterogeneity and dynamics,with supporting tools to realize the configuration automation,are presented.The proposed methods and mechanisms have been implemented,validated and rolled out in IBM software products and Cloud center.

Comparison of Analyses of Genetic Structure among Chinese Indigenous Chicken Breeds using Distance-based and Model-Based Methods

The Nei's improved genetic distance(DA)and gene flow(Nm)were measured using sixteen microsatellite markers.Dendograms based on DA genetic distance using the neighbor-joining(NJ)method and STRUCTURE program were constructed to analyze the genetic structure and relationship among 10 Chinese indigenous chicken breeds.The results showed that dendograms of DA genetic distance using the NJ method divided the 10 chicken breeds into two main clusters;one consisted of breeds of low weight body(CHA,TTB,XIA,GUS and BAI),the other contained heavier breeds(LAN,DAG,YOU,XIS and LUY).In the lighter breeds,TIB and CHA clustered together,as did XIA and GUS.In the heavier breeds,XIS and LUY was clustered together in one branch,but LAN,DAG and YOU clustered in independent branches.The results were consistent with Nm estimates among the 10 indigenous chicken breeds.The STRUCTURE program properly inferred the presence of genetic structure despite not pre-defining the origin of individuals.The genetic cluster inferred by STRUCTURE was basically the same as that from the DA distance clustering method.An advantage of the STRUCTURE program was its ability to identify the migrants and admixed individuals in the 10 chicken populations;this could not be achieved by use of the DA distance clustering method.

A survey on facial image deblurring

When a facial image is blurred,it significantly affects high-level vision tasks such as face recognition.The purpose of facial image deblurring is to recover a clear image from a blurry input image,which can improve the recognition accuracy,etc.However,general deblurring methods do not perform well on facial images.Therefore,some face deblurring methods have been proposed to improve performance by adding semantic or structural information as specific priors according to the characteristics of the facial images.In this paper,we survey and summarize recently published methods for facial image deblurring,most of which are based on deep learning.First,we provide a brief introduction to the modeling of image blurring.Next,we summarize face deblurring methods into two categories:Model-Based methods and deep learning-based methods.Furthermore,we summarize the datasets,loss functions,and performance evaluation metrics commonly used in the neural network training process.We show the performance of classical methods on these datasets and metrics and provide a brief discussion on the differences between Model-Based and learning-based methods.Finally,we discuss the current challenges and possible future research directions.

＜正＞Pipelines are of great importance to gas and petrochemical industries.Frequently,they are used to transport gas by hundreds or even thousands of miles.It is a very important task to keep the gas pipeline under safety operation.Leak detection and localization mechanisms play an important role in the management of a gas pipeline system.In this paper,a Model-Based leak detection and localization algorithm was proposed.In order to test the performance of the proposed method,a practical test rig has been built.The experiment results show that accurate and robustness leak detection and localization can be achieved using this method.

In the manufacturing processes of high value-added products in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical polymer and food industry, insufficient control might produce off-grade products. This can cause significant financial losses, or in the pharmaceutical industry, it can result in an unusable batch. In these industries, batch reactors are commonly used, the control of which is essentially a problem of temperature control. In the industry, an increasing number of heating-cooling systems utilising three different temperature levels can be found, which are advantageous from an economic point of view. However, it makes the control more complicated. This paper presents a split-range designing technique using the model of the controlled system with the aim to design a split-range algorithm more specific to the actual sys- tem. The algorithm described provides high control performance when using it with classical PID-based cascade temperature control of jacketed batch reactors;however, it can be used with or as part of other types of controllers, for ex- ample, Model-Based temperature controllers. The algorithm can be used in the case of systems where only two as well as where three temperature levels are used for temperature control. Besides the switching between the modes of opera- tion and calculating the value of the manipulated variable, one of the most important functions of the split-range algo- rithm is to keep the sign of the gain of the controlled system unchanged. However, with a more system-specific split-range solution, not only can the sign of the gain be kept unchanged, but the gain can also be constant or less de- pendent on the state of the system. Using this solution, the design of the PID controller becomes simpler and can be implemented in existing systems without serious changes.

Monitoring high-dimensional multistage processes becomes crucial to ensure the quality of the final product in modern industry environments. Few statistical process monitoring(SPC) approaches for monitoring and controlling quality in highdimensional multistage processes are studied. We propose a deviance residual-based multivariate exponentially weighted moving average(MEWMA) control chart with a variable selection procedure. We demonstrate that it outperforms the existing multivariate SPC charts in terms of out-of-control average run length(ARL) for the detection of process mean shift.

Globally, traditional power systems are rapidly transforming towards the adoption of smart grid platforms. Substations which are at the center of the electric power transformation from the power plant are changing to IEC 61850 based digital substations. Therefore, within substation, there is a growing demand for the IEC 61850 based Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). The operation of multiple manufacturers of IEDs in a single digital substation network increases the need for IEC 61850 communications specification conformance diagnosis to ensure interoperability for efficient data exchange between IEDs. The IEC 61850-10 presents test items for diagnosing communication specification conformance. There are many test tools available in the market today to test the compliance of the IEC 61850 communications specifications to the IED. In this paper, we propose a Model-Based diagnostic method for IED communication conformance testing. The proposed Model-Based software therefore uses the “drag and drop” technique to select the various IEC 61850 communication services (objects) required to design the test case in a user friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI). This makes the service conformance testing more flexible for test engineers and system integrators especially in situations that require test case modifications. Also, the proposed software tool makes it easy to understand the various IEC 61850 services using the friendly GUI.

Fault diagnosis of an intelligent hydraulic pump based on a nonlinear unknown input observer

Hydraulic piston pumps are commonly used in aircraft. In order to improve the viability of aircraft and energy efficiency, intelligent variable pressure pump systems have been used in aircraft hydraulic systems more and more widely. Efficient fault diagnosis plays an important role in improving the reliability and performance of hydraulic systems. In this paper, a fault diagnosis method of an intelligent hydraulic pump system（IHPS） based on a nonlinear unknown input observer（NUIO） is proposed. Different from factors of a full-order Luenberger-type unknown input observer, nonlinear factors of the IHPS are considered in the NUIO. Firstly, a new type of intelligent pump is presented, the mathematical model of which is established to describe the IHPS. Taking into account the real-time requirements of the IHPS and the special structure of the pump, the mechanism of the intelligent pump and failure modes are analyzed and two typical failure modes are obtained. Furthermore, a NUIO of the IHPS is performed based on the output pressure and swashplate angle signals. With the residual error signals produced by the NUIO, online intelligent pump failure occurring in real-time can be detected. Lastly, through analysis and simulation, it is confirmed that this diagnostic method could accurately diagnose and isolate those typical failure modes of the nonlinear IHPS. The method proposed in this paper is of great significance in improving the reliability of the IHPS.

The challenges posed by smart manufacturing for the process industries and for process systems engineering（PSE） researchers are discussed in this article. Much progress has been made in achieving plant- and site-wide optimization, hut benchmarking would give greater confidence. Technical challenges confrontingprocess systems engineers in developing enabling tools and techniques are discussed regarding flexibilityand uncertainty, responsiveness and agility, robustness and security, the prediction of mixture propertiesand function, and new modeling and mathematics paradigms. Exploiting intelligence from big data to driveagility will require tackling new challenges, such as how to ensure the consistency and confidentiality ofdata through long and complex supply chains. modeling challenges also exist, and involve ensuring that allkey aspects are properly modeled, particularly where health, safety, and environmental concerns requireaccurate predictions of small but critical amounts at specific locations. Environmental concerns will requireus to keep a closer track on all molecular species so that they are optimally used to create sustainablesolutions. Disruptive business models may result, particularly from new personalized products, but that isdifficult to predict.
