Optimization in the Migration Problem of mobile agents in Distributed Information Retrieval Systems

In this paper, we employ genetic algorithms to solve the migration problem (MP). We propose a new encoding scheme to represent trees, which is composed of two parts: the pre-ordered traversal sequence of tree vertices and the children number sequence of corresponding tree vertices. The proposed encoding scheme has the advantages of simplicity for encoding and decoding, ease for GA operations, and better equilibrium between exploration and exploitation. It is also adaptive in that, with few restrictions on the length of code, it can be freely lengthened or shortened according to the characteristics of the problem space. Furthermore, the encoding scheme is highly applicable to the degree-constrained minimum spanning tree problem because it also contains the degree information of each node. The simulation results demonstrate the higher performance of our algorithm, with fast convergence to the optima or sub-optima on various problem sizes. Comparing with the binary string encoding of vertices, when the problem size is large, our algorithm runs remarkably faster with comparable search capability. The Quality of Service （QoS） has received more and more attention since QoS becomes increasingly important in the Internet development. mobile software agents represent a valid alternative to the implementation of strategies for the negotiation. In this paper, a QoS negotiation and renegotiation system architecture based on mobile agents is proposed. The agents perform the task in the whole process. Therefore, such a system can reduce the network load, overcome latency, and avoid frequent exchange information between clients and server. The simulation results show that the proposed system could improve the network resource utility about 10%.

In this paper, we formulate a non-cooperative optimization game in market-oriented overlay networks where participating peers share their own computing resources to earn virtual money called energy. We model an overlay network as a set of non-cooperative resource providing peers, called platforms, that perform resource pricing and topology management to maximize their own energy gains. Resource consuming peers, called agents, are simply designed to migrate platform-to-platform to find the least expensive resources in the network. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the market dynamics as well as the global properties of the network, i.e., resource price and network topology, that emerge from local interactions among the group of peers.

We investigate the issue of synchronizing a blinking coupling mobile agent network through a blinking adaptation strategy,where each agent with blinking wave emission behavior not only adjusts its blinking period according to the local property of its neighbors,but also coordinates its blinking phase with those of neighboring *** leading the agents to blink orderly with a blinking period commensurate with the characteristic time of the dynamical oscillator,the presented blinking adaptation strategy works effectively in guaranteeing the synchronous motion of the considered network when the power density is *** addition,the influence of the controlling parameter and moving velocity on network evolution is studied by assessing the convergence time.

The mobile agent technology can be employed effectively for the decentralized management of complex networks. We show how the integration of mobile agent with legacy management protocol, such as simple network management protocol (SNMP), leads to decentralized management architecture. HostWatcher is a framework that allows mobile agents to roam network, collect and process data, and perform certain adaptive actions. A prototype, system is built and a quantitative analysis underlines the benefits in respect to reducing network load.

This paper reviews research that studies the principle of self-support U+0028 PSS U+0029 in some control systems and proposes a fractional-order generalized PSS framework for the first time. The existing PSS approach focuses on practical tracking problem of integer-order systems including robotic dynamics, high precision linear motor system, multi-axis high precision positioning system with unmeasurable variables, imprecise sensor information, uncertain parameters and external disturbances. More generally, by formulating the fractional PSS concept as a new generalized framework, we will focus on the possible fields of the fractional-order control problems such as practical tracking, U+03BB-tracking, etc. of robot systems, multiple mobile agents, discrete dynamical systems, time delay systems and other uncertain nonlinear systems. Finally, the practical tracking of a first-order uncertain model of automobile is considered as a simple example to demonstrate the efficiency of the fractional-order generalized principle of self-support U+0028 FOGPSS U+0029 control strategy. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.
