Biosorption of Ni(Ⅱ) ions from aqueous solution using modified Aloe barbadensis miller leaf powder

This study aimed to investigate the biosorption potential of Na2CO3-modified Aloe barbadensis miller (Aloe vera) leaf (MABL) powder for removal of Ni(II) ions from a synthetic aqueous solution. Effects of various process parameters (pH, equilibrium time, and temperature) were investigated in order to optimize the biosorptive removal. The maximum biosorption capacity of MABL was observed to be 28.986 mg/g at a temperature of 303 K, a biosorbent dose of 0.6 g, a contact time of 90 min, and a pH value of 7. Different kinetic models (the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, Elovich, and intraparticle diffusion models) were evaluated. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model was found to be the best fitted model in this study, with a coefficient of determination of R^2 =0.974. Five different isotherm models (the Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin-Radushkevich, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) models) were investigated to identify the best-suited isotherm model for the present system. Based on the minimum chi-square value (X^2 =0.027) and the maximum coefficient of determination (R^2 =0.996), the Langmuir isotherm model was found to represent the system well, indicating the possibility of monolayer biosorption. The sticking probability (S*) was found to be 0.41, suggesting a physisorption mechanism for biosorption of Ni(II) on MABL. The biosorbent was characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), zeta potential, and BET surface area, in order to understand its morphological and functional characteristics.

This paper formulates the light timing calculations for each interferometer arm;one that is parallel to the direction of motion of the interferometer through space and the other that is perpendicular. The calculations are done for a vacuum-mode interferometer and then for a gas-mode interferometer. The calculations show that no light timing difference is detectable in a vacuum-mode interferometer, but once an optical medium is present in the light path down the arms of the interferometer, this is no longer the case and a timing difference is detectable. Further to this, the timing equations obtained from the analysis are used to model the historical experiments of Michelson-Morley and miller (Mt Wilson) and predictions are made by the model that accurately match the actual recorded results from those experiments. Thus, this timing analysis confirms that there is a light speed anisotropy in a reference frame that is moving through space, indicating the presence of a preferred Aether reference frame through which the Earth is moving.

The mechanistic target of rapamycin （mTOR） is a nutrient and growth factor responsive kinase that modulates lifespan in species from yeast to mice （Johnson et al., 2013b）. mTOR exists in two complexes within cells, mTOR complex I （mTORC1） and mTOR complex 2 （mTORC2）（Laplante and Sabatini, 2012）. Abundant evidence suggests that mTORC1 is the primary mTOR complex involved in regulating longevity： mutations that reduce the activity of mTORC 1 have been shown to extend lifespan in yeast （Kaeberlein et al., 2005; Powers et al., 2006）, nematode worms （Vellai et al., 2003; Jia et al., 2004）, fruit flies （Kapahi et al., 2004）, and mice （Lamming et al., 2012）, as has deletion of the mTORC1 substrate ribosomal $6 kinase （Fabrizio et al., 2001, 2004; Kapahi et al., 2004; Pan et al., 2007; Selman et al., 2009）. Consistent with these genetic data, treatment with the mTORC1 inhibitor rapamycin has also been found to increase lifespan in yeast （Powers et al., 2006; Medvedik et al., 2007）, worms （Robida-Stubbs et al., 2012）, fruit flies （Bjedov et al., 2010）, and mice （Harrison et al., 2009）.

The beginning of failure of a (ZrO2-7%Y2O3)/(Ni-22%Co-17%Cr-12.5%Al-0.6%Y) duplex andgraded coating systems on lnconel 617 and IN738LC in burner rig tests has been characterized.The test conditions are 40 s heating up to 75O℃ substrate temperature followed by 80 s aircooling. Failure is considered at the appearance of the first bright spot during heating period.Stresses due to thermal expansion mismatch strains on cooling are the probable cause of life-limiting in this conditions of testing.

目的:评价基于“miller金字塔”原理的混合式教学法在介入专科护理教学中的应用效果。方法:本研究纳入2020年5月至2022年5月于我院导管室参培的介入专科护士学员共计23名作为研究对象,将2021年5月前参培的12位学员设为对照组,2021年5月后参培的11位学员设为实验组,对照组采用传统带教模式,实验组实施基于“miller金字塔”原理的混合式教学法,对比两组学员理论、操作考试成绩及CTDI-CV量表测评结果。结果:培训前两组CTDI-CV量表得分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);培训后实验组理论、操作考核成绩及CTDI-CV量表得分均高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(Pmiller金字塔”原理的混合式教学法应用于介入专科护理教学中,能使介入专科护士更好地掌握相关专业知识及操作技能,并提高其评判性思维能力。

Eriochrome black T and Nitrosulfophenol S were advocated as the chemical models of carcinogenic non-aminoazo compounds. The main products of their oxidative cleavage in horseradish peroxidase/H2O2 system was identified as the benezenediazonium ion, the ultimate carcinogens, which could bind to DNA. The reaction conditions were investigated preliminarily. Some inhibitors and inducers of the reaction were discovered.

探讨基于miller金字塔原理的混合式教学法在介入专科护理教学中的应用效果。方法选择我院参于护理培训的介入专科护士学员共计32名作为研究对象,采用分层随机抽样法将2022年6月前参培的16位实习生设为对照组,2022年6月后参培的16位实习生设为观察组,对照组给予传统带教模式进行教学,其中涵盖了理论讲授、实践操作、练习,观察组给予以“miller金字塔”为原则的混合式教学法教学,共分为四个阶段,涉及线上+线下讲授整合多平台在线资源、情景模拟、护理虚拟仿真实验、临床操作。比较培训前后实习生们在理论、操作两个考试中的成绩以及CTDI-CV量表的测量情况,同时对教学满意度进行问卷调查。结果训练前,两组CTDI-CV量表评分对比没有统计学意义(P>0.05);观察组培训后考核成绩,教学满意度和CTDI-CV量表各维度的评分均高于对照组,差异具有统计学意义(Pmiller金字塔”理为基础的混合式教学法用于介入专科护理教学,可使介入专科护士较好地掌握有关专业知识和操作技能,同时高其评判性思维能力。

Arthur miller is universally recognized as one of the greatest dramatists of the 20th century in the United States,together with the conscience of American drama.Nevertheless,his works have always been considered as having misogynic inclinations.This paper,on the basis of gender theories,seeks to undertake an interpretation to the elements of masculinity and femininity regarding female characters in Arthur miller’s dramas.Taking The Crucible and A Memory of Two Mondays as a case in point,the author seeks to identify and discuss three categories of female characters,comprising“the angel in the house”,the figure of Medea,and the silenced and absent females,in order to deconstruct miller’s dichotomized outlook on females.
