Our previous study found that MicroRNA-21 a-5 p(miR-21 a-5 p)knockdown could improve the recovery of motor function after spinal cord injury in a mouse model,but the precise molecular mechanism remains poorly understood.In this study,a modified Allen's weight drop was used to establish a mouse model of spinal cord injury.A proteomics approach was used to understand the role of differential protein expression with miR-21 a-5 p knockdown,using a mouse model of spinal cord injury without gene knockout as a negative control group.We found that after introducing miR-21 a-5 p knockdown,proteins that played an essential role in the regulation of inflammatory processes,cell protection against oxidative stress,cell redox homeostasis,and cell maintenance were upregulated compared with the negative control group.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis identified enriched pathways in both groups,such as the oxidative phosphorylation pathway,which is relevant to Parkinson's disease,Huntington's disease,Alzheimer's disease,and cardiac muscle contraction.We also found that miR-21 a-5 p could be a potential biomarker for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,as miR-21 a-5 p becomes deregulated in this pathway.These results indicate successful detection of some important proteins that play potential roles in spinal cord injury.Elucidating the relationship between these proteins and the recovery of spinal cord injury will provide a reference for future research of spinal cord injury biomarkers.All experimental procedures and protocols were approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Shandong University of China on March 5,2014.

BACKGROUND The incidence of colon cancer(CC)is currently high,and is mainly treated with chemotherapy.Oxaliplatin(L-OHP)is a commonly used drug in chemotherapy;however,long-term use can induce drug resistance and seriously affect the prognosis of patients.Therefore,this study investigated the mechanism of Opainteracting protein 5 antisense RNA 1(OIP5-AS1)on L-OHP resistance by determining the expression of OIP5-AS1 and Micro RNA-137(miR-137)in CC cells and the effects on L-OHP resistance,with the goal of identifying new targets for the treatment of CC.AIM To study the effects of long non-coding RNA OIP5-AS1 on L-OHP resistance in CC cell lines and its regulation of miR-137.METHODS A total of 114 CC patients admitted to China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University were enrolled,and the expression of miR-137 and OIP5-AS1 in tumor tissues and corresponding normal tumor-adjacent tissues was determined.The influence of OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 on the biological behavior of CC cells was evaluated.Resistance to L-OHP was induced in CC cells,and their activity was determined and evaluated using cell counting kit-8.Flow cytometry was used to analyze the apoptosis rate,Western blot to determine the levels of apoptosisrelated proteins,and dual luciferase reporter assay combined with RNA-binding protein immunoprecipitation to analyze the relationship between OIP5-AS1 and miR-137.RESULTS OIP5-AS1 was up-regulated in CC tissues and cells,while miR-137 was downregulated in CC tissues and cells.OIP5-AS1 was inversely correlated with miR-137(P<0.001).Silencing OIP5-AS1 expression significantly hindered the proliferation,invasion and migration abilities of CC cells and markedly increased the apoptosis rate.Up-regulation of miR-137 expression also suppressed these abilities in CC cells and increased the apoptosis rate.Moreover,silencing OIP5-AS1 and up-regulating miR-137 expression significantly intensified growth inhibition of drug-resistant CC cells and improved the sensitivity of CC cells to LOHP.OIP5-AS1 targetedly inhibited miR-

AIM: To explore the m RNA and pathways related to retinoblastoma(RB) genesis and development.METHODS: Microarray datasets GSE29683(human) and GSE29685(mouse) were downloaded from NCBI GEO database. Homologous genes between the two species were identified using WGCNA, followed by protein-protein interaction(PPI) network construction and gene enrichment analysis. Disease-related mi RNAs and pathways were retrieved from mi R2 Disease database and Comparative Toxicogenomics Database(CTD), respectively.RESULTS: A total of 352 homologous genes were identified. Two pathways including "cell cycle" and "pathway in cancer" in CTD and enrichment analysis were identified and seven mi RNAs(including hsa-mi R-373, hsa-mi R-34 a, hsami R-129, hsa-mi R-494, hsa-mi R-503, hsa-let-7 and hsami R-518 c) were associated with RB. mi RNAs modulate "cell cycle" and "pathway in cancer" pathways via regulating 13 genes(including CCND1, CDC25 C, E2 F2, CDKN2 D and TGFB2).CONCLUSION: These results suggest that these mi RNAs play crucial roles in RB genesis through "cell cycle" and "pathway in cancer" pathways by regulating their targets including CCND1, CDC25 C, E2 F2 and CDKN2 D.

In this paper,the operation perfonnance of three novel kinds of cogeneration systems under design and off-design condition was investigated.The systems are MGT(Micro gas turbine)+ORC(organic Rankine cycle)for electricity demand,MGT+ERC(ejector refrigeration cycle)for electricity and cooling demand,and MGT+ORC+ERC for electricity and cooling demand.The effect of 5 different working fluids on cogeneration systems was studied.The results show that under the design condition,when using R600 in the bottoming cycle,the MGT+ORC system has the lowest total output of 117.1 kW with a thermal efficiency of 0.334,and the MGT+ERC system has the largest total output of 142.6 kW with a thermal efficiency of 0.408.For the MGT+ORC+ERC system,the total output is between the other two systems,which is 129.3 kW with a thermal efficiency of 0.370.For the effect of different working fluids,R123 is the most suitable working fluid for MGT+ORC with the maximum electricity output power and R600 is the most suitable working fluid for MGT+ERC with the maximum cooling capacity,while both R600 and R123 can make MGT+ORC+ERC achieve a good comprehensive performance of refrigeration and electricity.The thermal efficiency of three cogeneration systems can be effectively improved under oredesign condition because the bottoming cycle can compensate for the power decrease of MGT.The results obtained in this paper can provide a reference for the design and operation of the cogeneration system for distributed energy systems(DES).

Friction modeling between the tool and the workpiece plays an important role in predicting the minimum cutting thickness during TC4 Micro machining and finite element method(FEM)cutting simulation.In this study,a new three-region friction modeling is proposed to illustrate the material flow mechanism around the friction zone in Micro cutting;estimate the stress distributions on the rake,edge,and clearance faces of the tool;and predict the stagnation point location and the minimum cutting thickness.The friction modeling is established by determining the distribution of normal and shear stress.Then,it is applied to calculate the stagnation point location on the edge face and predict the minimum cutting thickness.The stagnation point and the minimum cutting thickness are also observed and illustrated in the FEM simulation.Micro cutting experiments are conducted to validate the accuracy of the friction and the minimum cutting thickness modeling.Comparison results show that the proposed friction model illustrates the relationship between the normal and sheer stress on the tool surface,thereby validating the modeling method of the minimum cutting thickness in Micro cutting.

目的建立Micro RNA346基因多态性的毛细管电泳(CE)测定方法。方法采用血液/细胞/组织基因组DNA提取试剂盒提取血清样品基因组DNA,PCR扩增Micro RNA346目的基因,BciT130Ⅰ限制性内切酶酶切,产物用CE测定。对CE筛分介质质量浓度、分离电压等参数进行了优化。在优化的条件下(筛分介质质量浓度为10g/L分离电压为12kV),分别测定类风湿性关节炎患者和正常人血清样品Micro RNA346酶切产物,并对其进行基因分型。结果在优化的CE实验条件下(筛分介质质量浓度为10g/L,分离电压为12kV,25min内可完成Micro RNA346基因酶切产物检测。方法日内相对标准偏差(RSD)为0.43%~0.63%,日间RSD为1.49%~1.56%。用该法测定了96份类风湿性关节炎患者样品和43份正常人样品,结果均为Micro RNA346Ⅰ型,未发现Micro RNA346Ⅱ型。结论本研究建立的方法操作简单,具有高效、快速、样品用量少、自动化程度高等优点,适用于Micro RNA类小分子RNA基因多态性的测定。

Combined effect of Micro silica with clay, and gypsum as mulches on shear strength and wind erosion rate of sands

Mulching is known as one of the fastest strategies to control wind erosion and sand dunes movement.We hypothesized that mixed Micro silica with clay,gypsum and clay-gypsum as mulches will increase shear strength,threshold friction velocity and decrease soil losses of drifting sands.For this purpose,mixture of Micro silica rates (0,1,5,10,15 and 20%) with clay,gypsum,and clay-gypsum applied on sand surfaces.After 60 days of mulching,shear strength,the threshold friction velocity and soil losses at a wind speed of 15 m/S at the height of 20 cm for 20 rain.The results of this research revealed that the addition of 10% of Micro silica in combination with clay and clay-gypsum increased the shear strength up to 10.6 and 37.5% and the threshold friction velocity up to 45.2 and 48.5%,respectively and decreased soil losses up to 100% in comparison with the samples without Micro silica.Adding Micro silica to gypsum had no considerable effect on shear strength,threshold friction velocity and soil losses.It was concluded that no pozzolanic reaction occurred between Micro silica and gypsum and it was found that improvement in mechanical property and erodibility of clay-gypsum mulch was probably due to the pozzolanic reaction between Micro silica and clay.Application of 10% of Micro silica in combination with clay or clay-gypsum is therefore recommended as suitable mulch.

At present,both the point source and the imaging polarization navigation devices only can output the angle information,which means that the velocity information of the carrier cannot be extracted from the polarization field pattern directly.Optical flow is an image-based method for calculating the velocity of pixel point movement in an image.However,for ordinary optical flow,the difference in pixel value as well as the calculation accuracy can be reduced in weak light.Polarization imaging technology has the ability to improve both the detection accuracy and the recognition probability of the target because it can acquire the extra polarization multi-dimensional information of target radiation or reflection.In this paper,combining the polarization imaging technique with the traditional optical flow algorithm,a polarization optical flow algorithm is proposed,and it is verified that the polarized optical flow algorithm has good adaptation in weak light and can improve the application range of polarization navigation sensors.This research lays the foundation for day and night all-weather polarization navigation applications in future.

The contradiction of variable step size least mean square(LMS)algorithm between fast convergence speed and small steady-state error has always existed.So,a new algorithm based on the combination of logarithmic and symbolic function and step size factor is proposed.It establishes a new updating method of step factor that is related to step factor and error signal.This work makes an analysis from 3 aspects:theoretical analysis,theoretical verification and specific experiments.The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to other variable step size algorithms in convergence speed and steady-state error.
