Optimization of monitoring the stability of surrounding rock in a metal mine

Through analyzing the failure mechanics of rock under blasting effect, the optical fiber sensing system was used to monitor the strain of surrounding rock under blasting effect. Combined with practical exploration, the stability of surrounding rock was computed by numerical simulation using the blasting wave obtained from the site. According to the change regularities of displacement, stress, acceleration, and velocity of tunnels before and after explosion, the layout of key monitoring points was optimized. When disposed the monitoring position of sensors, the regular points should be considered to use as key points and the periodical monitor should be a part of the long-term monitor. In practical application, considering the geology condition in site, monitor points should be added on the area with joints and faults to assure the integrity of monitor data and the preciseness of decision.

Instability identification on large scale underground mined-out area in the metal mine based on the improved FRBFNN

To identify the instability on large scale underground mined-out area in the metal mine effectively,the parameters of radial basis function were determined through clustering method and the improved fuzzy radial basis function neural network(FRBFNN)model of instability identification model about large scale underground mined-out area in the metal mine was built.The improved FRBFNN model was trained and tested.The results show that the improved FRBFNN model has high training accuracy and generalization ability.Parameters such as pillar area ratio,filling level and the value of rock quality designation have strong influence on instability of large scale underground mined-out area.Correctness of analysis about the improved FRBFNN model was proved by the practical application results about instability discrimination of surrounding rock in large-scale underground mined-out area of a metal mine in south China.

Jinchuan nickel mine is the largest cut-and fill mining mine in China.After keep successive mining for nearly twenty years,it appeared serious ground fissures.A major thrust of this paper is to discuss the distribution features,deformation regularities,development tendency and formation mechanisms of ground fissures based on long-term subsidence monitoring and investigation.The results showed that large-scale ground subsidence basin has been developed in the mine area,and the ground fissures mainly scattered in the tensile zone of the subsidence basin.Besides,ground fissures have the features of compressive shear or tensile mechanical properties and zonary pattern. Unfortunately,with the mining scale keep expanding,both the quantity and width of the ground fissures increased rapidly.This will be unfavourable to safety of mining and engineering facilities. Therefore,strengthened monitoring and prevention works are essentially important to the similar mines which designed with cut-and-fill mining method.

Based on geological investigations and GPS monitoring data,this paper presents ground movement phenomena and characteristics for Jinchuan Nickel mine,China.The results show that ground subsidence occurred with increasing mining depth.The greatest accumulated subsidence reached 1287.5 mm between 2001 and 2008,and 37 considerable fissures were found at the ground surface.By establishing a mining-geological model,and by applying a numerical computation method,a short-term forecast of rockmass movement is proposed.The results show that the rate of ground subsidence and deformation will intensify further,and the distribution of subsidence and degree of damage to the mine roadway and shaft induced by ground subsidence and deformation will also extend in the following several years.
