metal ions participate in many metabolic processes in the human body,and their homeostasis is crucial for *** cardiovascular diseases(CVDs),the equilibriums of metal ions are frequently interrupted,which are related to a variety of disturbances of physiological processes leading to abnormal cardiac *** supplement of metal ions has the potential to work as therapeutic strategies for the treatment of *** with other therapeutic drugs,metal ions possess broad availability,good stability and safety and diverse drug delivery *** delivery strategies of metal ions are important to exert their ther-apeutic effects and reduce the potential toxic side effects for cardiovascular applications,which are also receiving increasing *** local delivery strategies for metal ions based on various biomaterials are constantly being *** this review,we comprehensively summarized the positive roles of metal ions in the treatment of cVDs from three aspects:protecting cells from oxidative stress,inducing angiogenesis,and adjusting the functions of ion *** addition,we introduced the transferability of metal ions in vascular reconstruction and cardiac tissue repair,as well as the currently available engineered strategies for the precise delivery of metal ions,such as integrated with nanoparticles,hydrogels and scaffolds.

Pipemidic acid is one of an efficient quinolone antibacterial *** pipemidic acid“Hpipc”withgallium(Ⅲ),germanium(Ⅳ)and silicon(Ⅳ)afforded three molecular formulas of[Ga(pipc)2(H 2O)(Cl)]·4H 2O,1,[Ge(pipc)2(Cl)2]·4H 2O,2 and[Si(pipc)2(Cl)2]·4H 2O,3 *** three new complexes were characterized based on elemental analysis,conductance,FTIR,UV-Vis,^1HNMR and XRD *** pipc chelate exhibits O,O coordinated through the carbonyl(C O)and carboxylato(COO)of both oxygen *** coordinate geometry was proposed regarding complexes of 2 and 3,so the axial position was occupied by two coordinated *** vitro,the antibacterial,antifungal,and anti-cancer assessments concerning the synthesized pipc complexes were *** complexes have an excellent anti-microbial activity.

metal ions-bridged J-aggregation mediated nanoassembly composition for breast cancer phototherapy

Recently, the highly ordered J-aggregates of organic dyes with intriguing optical properties have received considerable attention in biomedical applications. Herein, binary metal ions Mn(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ) are used to induce the formation of indocyanine green(ICG) ***, the sheet-like J-aggregates are able to act as "carriers" for loading hydrophobic chemotherapeutic gambogic acid(GA), realizing the effect of "killing two birds with one stone" for both treatment and delivery. The as-designed nanoassembly is formed spontaneously in aqueous environment via π-π stacking, electrostatic interaction, and hydrophobic force, exhibiting enhanced photostability of ICG and outstanding reactive oxygen species(ROS) generation ability. Moreover, significant inhibition of tumor growth by the synergetic effect of phototherapy and chemotherapy is verified in a subcutaneous4T1 tumors model. In conclusion, this work not only presents a facile and green approach to manufacture carrier-free nanodrugs, but also establishes a universal platform that has potential application in the co-delivery of near-infrared dye and hydrophobic molecules.

Interactions between metal ions and the biopolymer in activated sludge： quantification and effects of system pH value

The quantification and effects of system pH value on the interactions between Pb（II） and the biopolymer in activated sludge were investigated. The biopolymer had two protein-like fluorescence peaks （Ex/Em = 280 nm1326-338 nm for peak A; Ex/Em = 220-230 nm/324-338 nm for peak B）. The fluorescence intensities of peak B were higher than those of peak A. The fluorophores of both peaks could be largely quenched by Pb（ll）, and the quencher dose for peak B was about half of that for peak A. The modified Stern-Volmer equation well depicted the fluorescence quenching titration. The quenching constant （Ka） values for both peaks decreased with rising system pH value, and then sharply decreased under alkaline conditions. It could be attributed to that the alkaline conditions caused the reduction of available Pb（II） due to the occurrence of Pb（OH）2 sediments. The Ka values of peak B were bigger than those for peak A at the same system pH values. Accordingly, the aromatic proteins （peak B） played a key role in the interactions between metal ions and the biopolymer.

The Catalytic Effect of metal ions on the Degradation of 4-Chlorophenol Induced by an Aqueous Pulsed Discharge Plasma

The influence of metal ions, such as Fe^2＋, Fe^3＋, Cu^2＋ and Mn^2＋, on 4-CP degrada-tion was investigated in an aqueous pulsed discharge plasma system with or without the addition of a TiO2 photo-catalyst. From an analysis of the pseudo first-order rate constant （kcp） and energy efficiency （G50%） for 4-CP degradation, the experimental results show that the degrada- tion of 4-CP is much enhanced in the presence of ferrous ions at the optimal concentration of 0.2-0.8 mmol/L or 0.2 mmol/L in an aqueous pulsed discharge plasma without or with the TiO2 system, respectively, and the enhancement is ascribed to plasma induced Fenton and photo-Fenton reactions. Meanwhile, the rank of such metal ions for catalytic effect on 4-CP degradation was Fe^2＋〉 Fe^3＋〉 Cu^2＋〉 Mn^2＋ and Fe^2＋〉 Fe^3＋〉 Mn^2＋〉 Cu^2＋ for the former and the latter systems, respectively, and the reasons behind this were discussed through the analysis of active species, especially hydrogen peroxide.

In flotation,metal ions possess significant roles that are usually fulfilled by either selectively activating or depressing the target *** that tremendous efforts have been made to address the roles of metal ions in flotation,it still lacks a comprehensive review,especially to compare various ions instead of focusing on a specific *** review begins by elaborately categorizing the factors involved in affecting the roles of metal ions in *** that,well-accepted mechanisms are updated and discussed from the ore ***,typical approaches to explore the underlying mechanisms are emphasized,including traditional techniques such as micro-flotation,contact angle measurement,zeta potential measurement,and other recent prevailing methodologies,like computational method,solution chemistry calculation,and cyclic *** work will pave the way to promote flotations via activities like selectively adding/reducing metal ions,choosing reagents,and regulating the slurry chemistry.

Effects of metal ions on the morphology of calcium sulfate hemihydrate whiskers by hydrothermal method

The effects of Na＋, concentrations on the crystal Mg2＋, A13＋ and Fe3＋ ion morphology of calcium sulfate hemihydrate whiskers formed via a hydrothermal method have been studied. In the presence of A13＋ concentrations higher than 1x10-3 mol/L the whiskers were significantly shorter and thicker and the presence of Mg2＋ and Fe3＋ resulted in shorter whiskers. The presence of Nan did not affect the morphology of the whiskers. Through elemental analysis, it was determined that Mg2＋ and A13＋ were selectively adsorbed on the surfaces of the crystals, whereas Fe3＋ underwent a hydrolysis reaction to form a brown precipitate which decreased the ion concentration in the solution. These results indicate that in raw materials used for the industrial preparation of calcium sulfate whiskers, AI3＋ and Fe3＋ should be removed and the Mg2＋ concentration should be less than 8 x 10-3 mol/L in order to obtain pure whiskers with high aspect ratios.

Dual-functional pyrene implemented mesoporous silicon material used for the detection and adsorption of metal ions

A fluorescent active organic–inorganic hybrid material Py N-SBA-15 was synthesized by implementing pyrene derivatives into mesoporous SBA-15 *** N-SBA-15 had detection and removal functionalities toward Al^(3+),Cu^(2+),and Hg^(2+).On the one hand,Py N-SBA-15 was used as a fluorescence sensor and displayed high sensitivity toward Al^(3+),Cu^(2+),and Hg^(2+)cations (limit of detection:8.0×10^(-7),1.1×10^(-7),and 2.9×10^(-6)mol·L^(–1),respectively) among various analytes with“turn-off”*** the other hand,the adsorption studies for these toxic analytes (Cu^(2+),Hg^(2+),and Al^(3+)) showed that the ion removal capacity could reach up to 45,581,and 85 mg·g^(-1),***,the Langmuir isotherm models were better fitted with the adsorption data,indicating that the adsorption was mono-layer *** analysis revealed that the adsorption process was well described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model for Cu^(2+)and Hg^(2+)and pseudo-first-order kinetic model for Al^(3+).The prepared silica material could be reused in four recycles without significantly decreasing its adsorption ***,the Py N-SBA-15 material can serve as a promising candidate for the simultaneous rapid detection and efficient adsorption of metal ions.

Effects of metal ions on the catalytic degradation of dicofol by cellulase

A new technique whereby cellulase immobilized on aminated silica was applied to catalyze the degradation of dicofol, an organochlorine pesticide. In order to evaluate the performance of free and immobilized cellulase, experiments were carried out to measure the degradation efficiency. The Michaelis constant, Km, of the reaction catalyzed by immobilized cellulase was9.16 mg /L, and the maximum reaction rate, Vmax, was 0.40 mg /L /min, while that of free cellulase was Km= 8.18 mg /L, and Vmax= 0.79 mg /L /min, respectively. The kinetic constants of catalytic degradation were calculated to estimate substrate affinity. Considering that metal ions may affect enzyme activity, the effects of different metal ions on the catalytic degradation efficiency were explored. The results showed that the substrate affinity decreased after immobilization. Monovalent metal ions had no effect on the reaction, while divalent metal ions had either positive or inhibitory effects, including activation by Mn2＋, reversible competition with Cd2＋, and irreversible inhibition by Pb2＋. Ca2＋promoted the catalytic degradation of dicofol at low concentrations, but inhibited it at high concentrations. Compared with free cellulase, immobilized cellulase was affected less by metal ions. This work provided a basis for further studies on the co-occurrence of endocrine-disrupting chemicals and heavy metal ions in the environment.
