OBJECTIVE： To evaluate the effects of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation on functional recovery of rats with complete spinal cord transection. DATA SOURCES： A computer-based online search of Medline （1989-2013）, Embase （1989- 2013）, Cochrane library （1989-2013）, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database （1989-2013）, China National Knowledge Infrastructure （1989-2013）, VIP （1989-2013）, Wanfang databases （1989-2013） and Chinese Clinical Trial Register was conducted to collect randomized controlled trial data regarding olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation for the treatment of complete spinal cord transection in rats. SELECTION CRITERIA： Randomized controlled trials investigating olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation and other transplantation methods for promoting neurological functional recov- ery of rats with complete spinal cord transection were included in the analysis. meta analysis was conducted using RevMan 4.2.2 software. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan scores of rats with complete spinal cord transection were evaluated in this study. RESULTS： Six randomized controlled trials with high quality methodology were included. meta analysis showed that Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan scores were significantly higher in the olfacto- ry ensheathing cell transplantation group compared with the control group （WMD = 3.16, 95% （21 （1.68, 4.65）; P 〈 0.00001）. CONCLUSION： Experimental studies have shown that olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation can promote the functional recovery of motor nerves in rats with complete spinal cord transection.

meta analysis on the relationship between gene polymorphisms of vascular endothelial growth factorand retinal prognosis risk of prematurity

AIM: To explore the relationship between gene polymorphisms of (VEGF) and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). METHODS: Literature materials related to gene polymorphisms of VEGF and ROP in PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane and CBM database were retrieved. These materials were screened according to inclusion and exclusion standards. Patients diagnosed with ROP in clinic were regarded as control group and ROP patients who were in treatment were regarded as observation group. The indexes in two groups were matched except birth weight (BW), gender and gestational weeks. meta5.1 was used to analyze the relationship between gene polymorphisms of VEGF and ROP. RESULTS: Four random control tests (RCT) were included in this research, including 2611 patients. Met) analysis results showed that VEGF affected ROP, having statistical significance. The combined ratio was 0.44 (95% CI, 0.07, 0.80), 0.42 (95%CI, 0.09, 0.74) and 0.75 (95%CI, 0.02, 1.49), respectively. Carrying +405 allele might increase the premature infants risk of having ROP. CONCLUSION: ROP may be related to its carrying of +405 allele. Large-scale, multi-factor RCT researches are still needed in order to identify the relation between VEGF and ROP.

Objective：To evaluate the efficacy of Chinese medicine（CM）adjunct to conventional medications for idiopathic Parkinson’s disease（PD）.Methods：Electronic English and Chinese databases including Pub Med,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Chinese Medical Current Contents,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,China Science and Technology Journal Database,Wanfang Med Database,and Traditional Chinese Medical Database System were used for key words searching in a highly sensitive search *** extracted data was analyzed by the Review Manager ***：Twelve trials involving 869 participants were included in the *** PD Rating Scale（UPDRS）Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳscores and UPDRSⅠ–Ⅳtotal scores were used to be the primary outcomes,Parkinson Disease Question-39（PDQ-39）and Scores of Chinese Medical Symptoms were the secondary *** adjunct therapy had greater improvement in UPDRSⅠ[2 trials;standardized mean difference（SMD）–0.40,95%confidence interval（CI）–0.71 to–0.09;Z=2.49（P=0.01）],Ⅱ[5 trials;SMD–0.47,95%CI–0.69 to–0.25;Z=4.20（P〈0.01）],Ⅲ[5 trials;SMD-0.35,95%CI–0.57 to–0.13;Z=3.16（P=0.002）],Ⅳscores[3 trials;SMD-0.32,95%CI–0.60 to–0.03;Z=2.17（P=0.03）],UPDRSⅠ–Ⅳtotal scores[7 trials;SMD-0.36,95%CI–0.53 to–0.20;Z=4.24（P〈0.05）].PDQ-39 and Chinese medical symptoms compared to the conventional medication ***：CM adjunct therapy has potential therapeutic benefits by decreasing UPDRS scores and reducing adverse effect.

Deep learning in fault detection and diagnosis of building HVAC systems: A systematic review with meta analysis

Building sector account for significant global energy consumption and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems contribute to the highest portion of building energy consumption. Therefore, the potential for energy saving by improving the efficiency of HVAC systems is huge and various fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) methods have been studied for this purpose. Although amongst all types of existing FDD methods, datadriven based ones are regarded as the most effective methods. As a relatively new branch of data-driven approaches, deep learning (DL) methods have shown promising results, a comprehensive review of DL applications in this area is absent. To fill the research gap, this systematic review with meta analysis analyses the relevant studies both quantitatively and qualitatively. The review is conducted by searching Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Semantic search. There are 47 eligible studies included in this review following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) protocol. 6 out of the 47 studies are identified as eligible for meta analysis of the effectiveness of DL methods for FDD. The most used DL method is 2D convolutional neural network (CNN). Results suggest that DL methods show promising results as a HVAC FDD. However, most studies use simulation/lab experiment data and real-world complexities are not fully investigated. Therefore, DL methods need to be further tested with real-world scenarios to support decision-making.

meta analysis on acupuncture for postpartum depression

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treatment of postpartum depression. Methods Pubmed database and Embase database were retrieved online in English, and China National Knowledge Internet （CNKI）, China Biology Medicine disc （CBM）, VIP database and Wanfang Data were retrieved in Chinese. Literature in recent 10 years relating to clinical randomized controlled trials of acupuncture in treatment of postpartum depression were collected, and meta analysis was performed by adopting RevMan5.3. Results Fourteen articles were included in the study in total; it was shown from HAMD result that after combination, WMD=-2.27, 95%CI （-2.55, 0.01）; according to Z-test, Z=2.95, P=0.05, and the difference in efficacy between treatment group and control group was statistically significant. It was shown from EPDS result that after combination, WMD=-0.53, 95%CI （-0.92, -0.03）; according to Z-test, Z=2.08, P〈0.05, and the difference in efficacy between treatment group and control group was statistically significant. During the analysis taking estradiol as standard, it was shown from the result that after combination, WMD=63.99, 95%CI （13.39, 114.60）; according to Z-test, Z=2.48, P〈0.05, and the difference in efficacy between treatment group and control group had remarkably statistical significance. During the analysis taking effective rate as standard, it was shown from the result that after combination, OR=3.15, 95%CI （2.19, 4.55）; according to Z-test, Z=6.14, P〈0.05, and the difference in efficacy between treatment group and control group had remarkably statistical significance. Conclusion Acupuncture treatment for postpartum depression is effective, but more clinical randomized controlled trials with high quality and large sample size are still needed to verify the result.

Objective:To systematically evaluate the effects of acupuncture,auricular point sticking,acupoint catgut embedding,cupping and other non-pharmaceutical Chinese medicine therapies on sex hormone as well as glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with obese polycystic ovary ***:The databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched by computer to collect the literature on the treatment of obese polycystic by non-pharmaceutical Chinese medicine therapy combined with western medicine or lifestyle change,and the literature quality of the included literature was evaluated,and finally the data were analyzed.A total of 15 randomized controlled trial(RCT)literature were included in this study,with a total of 1263 ***:Non-pharmaceutical Chinese medicine therapy combined with metformin or lifestyle can reduce body mass index,insulin resistance index,fasting plasma insulin,fasting blood glucose,luteinizing hormone,ratio of luteinizing hormone to follicle stimulating hormone,testosterone,but it has no obvious advantage over follicle stimulating hormone(FSH).Conclusion:Compared with simple application of metformin or lifestyle change,traditional Chinese medicine non drug therapy combined with metformin or lifestyle change can better improve sex hormone and blood glucose metabolism in obese PCOS patients.

meta analysis on ischemic stroke treated with scalp acupuncture

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of scalp acupuncture in the treatment of ischemic stroke. Methods The method recommended in the Cochrane Collaboration was used for the systematic evaluation of the randomized controlled trials （RCTs） of scalp acupuncture in the treatment of ischemic stroke. Results One thousand three hundred and ninety-five cases from 13 papers in Chinese version were in compliance with the inclusive criteria and all of them were the low-quality trials. The results of the included 5 trials in meta analysis indicated that the efficacy of scalp acupuncture was superior to medication in the treatment of ischemic stroke （RR=1.27, 95% CI 1.06, 1.51）. The results of 3 trials in meta analysis suggested that the recovery in the nerve function defect of the patients with ischemic stroke treated with scalp acupuncture was apparent as compared with medication （WMD = -2.96, 95% C1-4.00, -1.92）. The results of 5 trials in meta analysis showed that the efficacy of scalp acupuncture on ischemic stroke was potentially superior to body acupuncture （RR=I.10, 95% CI 0.93, 1.28）. Conclusion It is seen in the meta analysis results of the included 13 RCTs that scalp acupuncture achieves the definite efficacy on ischemic stroke. Due to the limitation of the inclusive numbers and quality of the research, especially the lack of long-term indices, the conclusion reliability of this research is relatively low. Hence, it is required much more evidences for a further confirmation from the large scale and multiple central RCTs with high quality and intrinsic authenticity.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of lentinan injection plus cisplatin(LIC)in the treatment of malignant pleural effusion(MPE).Methods We searched the database of Cochrane Library,PubMed,EMBASE, ISI Web of Knowledge,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Chinese Scientific Journals Full-text Database, Chinese Journal Full-text,and Google Scholar,etc.,up to February 28th,2011 to identify randomized controlled trials(RCTs)about lentinan injection(LI)for MPE,evaluate the quality of the included studies,and analyze the data by Cochrane Collaboration’s RevMan5.0 *** Twenty-nine RCTs involving 1831 patients were *** analysis results suggested that there were some differences when comparing LIC with control groups suffering from MPE,for LIC could improve the near-term curative effect and the quality of life to some extent. Besides,compared with chemotherapy alone,LI plus chemotherapy had an advantage in relieving adverse reactions, such as gastrointestinal reactions,myelosuppression,chest pain,and general *** The current evidence indicates that LI may have adjuvant therapeutic effects for MPE.

System Evaluation and meta analysis of Total Clinical Effective Rate of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Treating Depression during 2019-2022

[Objectives]To systematically evaluate the total clinical effective rate of acupuncture treatment of depression,and provide clinical reference for the scheme design and selection of acupuncture treatment of depression.[Methods]By searching CNKI,Wanfang Data,CBM,VIP,Cochrane Library,Cochrane Central,Springer and other databases,randomized controlled experiment(RCT)on acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of depression from January 1,2019 to August 31,2022 was collected,to extract relevant data of total clinical effective rate and conduct methodological quality *** 5.4.1 software was used for meta analysis.[Results]22 RCTs were included,1602 patients in *** them,there were 804 cases in treatment group and 798 cases in control *** analysis results displayed that acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of depression may be better than the control group in improving the total clinical effective rate,and the difference was statistically significant[MD=1.16,95%CI(1.11,1.21)].[Conclusions]Acupuncture and moxibustion can achieve a higher total clinical effective rate in the treatment of depression,which is worthy of clinical ***,due to fewer studies included in this systematic evaluation,small sample size,and low quality,there was a high possibility of ***,the above conclusions needed to be verified by high-quality,large-sample,and multi-center RCTs.

Clinical effect of extracorporeal shockwave therapy for knee osteoarthritis: A meta analysis

Objective:To provide evidence-based evidence for the clinical use of shockwave therapy in ***: Two researchers independently searched the randomized controlled study of shockwave therapy for KOA in the databases of CNKI、VIP、WanFang Data、 Sinomed and PubMed. Jadad rating scale was used for literature quality evaluation, and the extracted data was meta-analyzed by RevMan5.3 ***: A total of 15 randomized controlled trials involving 1248 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed: The clinical effective rate of shock wave therapy for knee osteoarthritis was reliable[RR=1.12, 95%CI(1.03, 1.20), p=0.005], and the efficacy was reliable in reducing the visual analogue scale [MD=-1.73, 95%CI(-2.31, -1.14), p<0.00001] , Lequesne osteoarthritis severity index[MD=-1.60, 95%CI(-2.55, -0.64), p<0.00001] and WOMAC[MD=-6.03, 95%CI(-9.49,-2.57) p=0.0006] of KOA patients, without serious adverse ***:At present, the evidence shows that shock wave can effectively improve the pain and other related symptoms in KOA patients, and the curative effect is reliable.
