A Bibliometric Analysis of Positive mental Health Research and Development in the Social Science Citation Index

mental well-being is a dynamic state that allows individuals to be happy and satisfied with life, find purpose in their lives, realize their given potential, form and maintain relationships with others, and feel in control of their own lives. As a positive aspect of mental health, it is extremely important for the healthy development of adolescents. Researchers paid close attention to mental well-being, and founded that teacher support can enhance adolescent mental health. However, the effects of negative emotions and resilience in the relationship between teacher support and mental well-being in adolescents are still unknown. This study investigated(a) the mediating role of negative emotions in the relationship between teacher support and mental well-being,(b) the mediating role of resilience in the association between teacher support and mental well-being, and(c) the serial mediating role of negative emotions and then resilience in the relationship between teacher support and mental well-being. Participants were 1228 Chinese adolescents(age, M = 15.43 years;53.09% male) enrolled at two junior middle schools and two senior middle schools. The proportion of participants from grade one to three in junior middle school and senior middle school was 15.5%, 16.8%, and 17.5%, and 16.9%, 16.5%, and 16.9%, respectively. Participants filled out questionnaires regarding teacher support, negative emotions, resilience, and mental well-being. In this study, a bootstrapping analysis was conducted using the SPSS macro PROCESS Model 6(with teacher support as the independent variable, mental well-being as the outcome variable, negative emotions and resilience as mediators, and sex and age as covariates) with 5000 resamples to test a serial mediation model, and to calculate the 95% confidence intervals(CIs). The results showed that:(1) After controlling for age and sex, we found that teacher support, negative emotions, and resilience were significantly linked with mental well-being.

Background:This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of positive mental health,focusing on citation performance,article title,abstract,author keywords,Keyword Plus,and their development *** novelty of this study is a pioneer within the field of positive mental ***,it delivered new ideas for researchers and practitioners who had concerns about positive mental health in terms of trends research which covered recommended articles and the research focus in recent ***:The data were retrieved on 30 April 2024 from the Social Sciences Citation Index(SSCI)of Clarivate Analytics’Web of Science Core Collection for studies published between 1992 and ***:The distribution of keywords in the article title and keywords chosen by the authors were used to assess research trends.1391 documents in SSCI were found during the search;1221 of these were document-type“articles.”524 journals published these *** most frequently used keywords by the writers,according to the articles’analysis,are“depression,”“resilience,”“COVID-19,”“anxiety,”and“social support.”Kristin *** wrote the most frequently cited paper in *** articles came from Europe(five countries),America(two countries),Asia(two countries),and Oceania(one country),and were published in *** majority of the research in the field of positive mental health is conducted in Europe and America,two regions where English is the primary *** main research topics in positive mental health were related to adolescents,children,and college ***:Trends research through bibliometric analysis by using data from Web of Science Core Collection should be followed by manual inspection to avoid ***,scientists need more careful data examination in bibliometric analysis.

Determinants of Positive mental Health in Adolescents–A Cross-Sectional Study on Relationships between Positive mental Health, Self-Esteem, Character Strengths and Social Inclusion

Adolescence is a crucial time period with especial vulnerability for development of mental health *** interest is focusing on the determinants of positive mental health in order to find the key concepts that could be influenced in the promotion of mental well-being of *** this study we aim to explore the relations between self-esteem,character strengths and experience of social inclusion as determinants of adolescents’positive mental health controlled for selected sociodemographic background *** study population(n=195)consisted of comprehensive school students who filled in an electronic questionnaire of adolescent’s mental well-being in Fall *** questionnaire included measures of Warwick-Edinburgh mental well-being Scale(WEMWBS),VIA Youth-measure 96,Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Experience of Social Inclusion *** methods included group comparisons and General Linear Model computed by SPSS *** strongest association was found between positive mental health and self-esteem(β=0.789,pmental health in the final statistical *** terms of our results,it seems that self-esteem,character strengths and experience of social inclusion might have stronger association with adolescents’mental well-being than family’s socioeconomic ***,it should be discussed whether psychological determinants overcome the individual effect of poor socioeconomic status as factors that influence positive mental *** studies are needed to establish these results more firmly.

Effects of a Food Supplement with a Wild Thyme (Thymus serpyllum L.) Extract on Gut Health and the Microbiome in Humans: A Randomized, Double-Blinded, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

Background: Based on the scientific and traditional knowledge, benefits for gut and digestive health were expected from Wild Thyme (Thymus serpyllum L.) extract (WThE) consumption, but no controlled human studies were performed yet to prove the proposed health benefits. Method: The aim of this human randomized, double-blind parallel arm pilot study was to explore the impact of aqueous Wild Thyme extract, a food supplement, in a healthy but overweight study collective (N = 40). In detail, the impact on digestion, gastrointestinal symptoms, gut microbiome, and quality of life by employing an essential oil-free WThE preparation or a matching placebo was investigated. Results: The study results indicate that WThE has the potential to improve gastrointestinal symptoms and increase stool frequency, thus an improved quality of life was observed. The stool microbiome of study collective was characterized by a high Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes ratio. A decrease in the mean Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio was seen in WThE group. Conclusion: The data support the potential applications of WThE as a food supplement with benefits on gut health.
