Reliability Analysis of Symmetrical Columns with Eccentric Loading from Lindley Distribution

This paper shows the reliability of the symmetrical columns with eccentric loading about one and two axes due to the maximum intensity stress and minimum intensity *** this paper,a new lifetime distribution is introduced which is obtained by compounding exponential and gamma distributions(named as Lindley distribution).Hazard rates,mean time to failure and estimation of single parameter Lindley distribution by maximum likelihood estimator have been *** is observed that when the load and the area of the cross section increase,failure of the column also increases at two intensity *** is observed from the results that reliability decreases when scale parameter increases.

Investigation of Influence of Winding Structure on Reliability of Permanent Magnet Machines

Hazard Model Reliability Analysis Based on a Wind Generator Condition Monitoring System

This paper presents an application of the hazard model reliability analysis on wind generators, based on a condition monitoring system. The hazard model techniques are most widely used in the statistical analysis of the electric machine＇s lifetime data. The model can be utilized to perform appropriate maintenance decision-making based on the evaluation of the mean time to failures that occur on the wind generators due to high temperatures. The knowledge of the condition monitoring system is used to estimate the hazard failure, and survival rates, which allows the preventive maintenance approach to be performed accurately. A case study is presented to demonstrate the adequacy of the proposed method based on the condition monitoring data for two wind turbines. Such data are representative in the generator temperatures with respect to the expended operating hours of the selected wind turbines. In this context, the influence of the generator temperatures on the lifetime of the generators can be determined. The results of the study can be used to develop the predetermined maintenance program, which significantly reduces the maintenance and operation costs.

Reliability analysis of a two-dependent-unit parallel system with a standby unit

A parallel system with two active components and a cold standby unit is studied in this paper. The two simultaneously working components are dependent and the copula function is used to model their dependence. An explicit expression is obtained for the mean time to failure of the system in terms of the copula function and marginal lifetime distributions in two different cases. As an application,numerical calculations are presented corresponding to two different copula functions and marginal lifetime distributions.
