Mimicking vascular systems in living beings,designers have realized microvascular composites to achieve thermal regulation and other functionalities,such as electromagnetic modulation,sensing,and *** material systems avail circulating fluids through embedded vasculatures to accomplish the mentioned functionalities that benefit various aerospace,military,and civilian *** heat transfer is a mature field,control of thermal characteristics in synthetic microvascular systems via circulating fluids is new,and a theoretical underpinning is *** will benefit designers are predictive mathematical models and an in-depth qualitative understanding of vascular-based active cooling/***,the central focus of this paper is to address the remarked knowledge ***,we present a reduced-order model with broad applicability,allowing the inlet temperature to differ from the ambient ***,we apply mathematical analysis tools to this reduced-order model and reveal many heat transfer properties of fluid-sequestered vascular *** derive point-wise properties(minimum,maximum,and comparison principles)and global properties(e.g.,bounds on performance metrics such as the mean surface temperature and thermal efficiency).These newfound results deepen our understanding of active cooling/heating and propel the perfecting of thermal regulation systems.

The different characteristics of cardiac electric field(CEF)radiation in humans and other animals are presented in this *** modeling and mathematical analysis are developed to comprehensively unveil the properties of CEF,based on typical heartbeat *** numerical simulation results demonstrate that the frequency bandwidths and the cycle durations of CEF are different for healthy humans versus humans on the verge of death and for humans versus other *** results indicate that the present study may extensively contribute towards recognizing human beings or other animal targets quickly and accurately with CEF in dangerous situations or in other applications.

This study aims to analyze the influence of vortex motion in a reverse Stairmand cyclone separator by using LES *** mathematical analysis indicated that the energy dissipation and the flow characteristics of incompressible fluid are directly related to on the vortex *** results of the Q criterion-based iso-vortex surface could well reflect the tendency of the vortex structure,in which the iso-vortex surface exhibited a distorted distribution rather than around the center *** the turning point of velocity vector,vortices were formed and developed,and the point was the center of the local vortex *** addition,the vortex formed an irregular annular region around the wall at the bottom of vortex *** vortex structure near the dust hopper presented a strong ***,there were two rotating flow in the opposite direction within the dust *** phenomena would affect the separation performance,which was significance to cyclone separator.

A further characterization of the bentnegabent functions is presented. Based on the concept of complete mapping polynomial, we provide a necessary and sufficient condition for a class of quadratic Boolean functions to be bent-negabent. A new characterization of negabent functions can be described by using the parity of Hamming weight. We further generalize the classical convolution theorem and give the nega-Hadamard transform of the composition of a Boolean function and a vectorial Boolean function. The nega-Hadamard transform of a generalized indirect sum is calculated by this composition method.

A quarter-circular arc piezoelectric Vibration energy harvester(VEH) based on nonlinear geometry is proposed with both bending moment and torque deformation mode, so it can effectively absorb multi-directional vibration at the same resonance frequency. The theoretical model of quarter-circular arc piezoelectric VEH is established to study the resonance frequency and the output voltage. In order to demonstrate multi-directional performance of the quarter-circular arc VEH, the stress distribution is compared with that of the traditional piezoelectric VEH in multi-direction vibration, and the output voltage of the circular arc piezoelectric VEH are relatively increased 267.26% in X-direction, 463.18% in Ydirection, and 17.24% in Z-direction. The external load is equipped in circuit to measure output power, whose matching resistance is around 21 k?, and the maximum output powers are 7.57 m W in X-direction, 2.39 m W in Y-direction, and 9.93 m W in Z-direction.

The development of foils for racing boats has changed the strategy of sailing. Recently, the America＇s cup held in San Francisco, has been the theatre of a tragicomic history due to the foils. During the last round, the New-Zealand boat was winning by 8 to 1 against the defender USA. The winner is the first with 9 victories. USA team understood suddenly （may be） how to use the control of the pitching of the inain foils by adjusting the rake in order to stabilize the ship. And USA won by 9 victories against 8 to the challenger NZ. The goal in this paper is to point out few aspects which could be taken into account in order to improve this mysterious control law which is known as the key of the victory of the USA team. There are certainly many reasons and in particular the cleverness of the sailors and of all the engineering team behind this project. But it appears interesting to have a mathematical discussion, even if it is a partial one, on the mechanical behaviour of these extraordinary sailing boats. The nunlerical exanlples given here are not the true ones. They have just been invented in order to explain the theoretical developments concerning three points： The possibility of tacking on the foils for sailing upwind, the nature of foiling instabilities, if there are, when the boat is flying and the control laws.

Achieving greener cloud computing is non-negligible for the open-source cloud *** this paper,we propose a novel virtual machine allocation scheme with a sleep-delay and establish a corresponding mathematical *** into account the number of tasks and the state of the physical machine,we construct a two-dimensional Markov chain and derive the average latency of tasks and the energy-saving degree of the system in the steady ***,we provide numerical experiments to show the effectiveness of the proposed ***,we study the Nash equilibrium behavior and the socially optimal behavior of tasks and carry out an improved adaptive genetic algorithm to obtain the socially optimal arrival rate of ***,we present a pricing policy for tasks to maximize the social profit when managing the network resource within the cloud environment.
