Harnessing the market potential of the Bamboo Industry in Central Luzon, Philippines: An Analysis of the Internal and External Environment

The bamboo industry in Central Luzon holds significant promise for economic development and environmental sustainability. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing the bamboo industry in the region through SWOT and PESTLE analyses. Based on a focus group discussion involving key industry players, the study explores the industry’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors. Findings reveal the importance of comprehensive strategies that address political stability, economic growth, consumer awareness, technological advancement, legal compliance, and environmental sustainability. Recommendations include capacity-building for production and marketing, the establishment of bamboo treatment facilities, and advocacy for supportive policies. By addressing these factors, the bamboo industry in Central Luzon can realize its potential for socio-economic development and environmental stewardship.

The failure of *** companies in China deeply proved that market potential and cultural distances are two important contributors in international market *** ensure proper selection,positioning and development of target market,a deliberate analysis of market potential and cultural distance is *** this paper,a culture-market decision model is proposed for multinationals to analyze risks and returns in target market and how to identify the types of target market and barriers to develop existing target market to oasis for a certain company has been discussed.A comparison of Google China and Baidu in Chinese search engine market is presented to demonstrate the model in detail.

Especially since 2012 Chinese companies have acquired stakes as investors and constructors of overseas ports in both high-income and emerging *** initiatives play an important role in the construction of a Maritime Silk Road and China’s Belt and Road Initiative(BRI).Although a result of many factors,of which Chinese port investments are only one,macro-geographical gravity methods show that distance impedance and increases in the export market potential,export supply capacity and access to imports of these countries drove increases in income per *** supply capacity rose particularly in Southeast Asia and more recently in Sub-Saharan *** difficult times for the world economy,countries in which China invested in overseas port infrastructure saw increases in national export market potential and income per capita,due to reduction in the impedance of distance,while in the case of developing economies export market supply capacity and access to imported capital equipment and intermediate goods improved.

本文将人均GDP和市场潜能作为表征经济增长及其溢出效应的指标，基于空间计量方法考察了我国285个地级市2004-2013年经济增长溢出效应随时间和地理距离的变化规律。研究结果表明，经济增长的溢出效应一方面随时间推移整体增强，另一方面随地理距离的增加而减弱，其中300公里内为密集溢出区，800公里以内为有效溢出区、以外为间接溢出区，说明经济增长最有效的空间溢出范围在一到两个省的范围内，与地级市的行政界线相比，省级行政界线对经济增长空间溢出的阻碍作用更明显。

This paper presents a pedagogical study which uses an e-learning case computer simulation to enhance students’ learning outcomes in a subject titled "Design for Function and Performance". The pedagogical model involving instruction, learning and assessment components was found to improve university students’ understanding, critical analysis and application of knowledge. This paper describes the experience of designing the instruction, learning and assessment elements and implementing them along with a computer simulation for university students studying clothing thermal functional design.

交通作为城市发展的重要作用力，对城市经济及产业发展起到推动作用。为了探讨高铁对我国城市产业结构的影响，本文修正了市场潜力模型并识别出可能利用高铁的产业，计算2012年基于普铁及基于高铁城市各产业市场潜力及变化值，分析高铁对城市产业市场潜力的规模及空间影响特征。得到：1)高铁对制造业的市场潜力规模影响最大，其次分别为批发零售业、交通邮政业、租赁商服业、信息技术服务业、科研服务业、住宿餐饮业，对金融业市场潜力影响最小；2)城市规模越大，高铁对其产业市场潜力的影响越大；3)高铁使得制造业、交通邮政业、批发零售业、信息技术服务业、住宿餐饮业、租赁商服业和科研服务业的空间分布更加极化，使金融业的空间分布更加均衡。高铁对城市不同产业的空间集聚分布影响呈现“多中心廊道”结构，长三角、珠三角、海西沿线、京津沿线成为各产业主要的集聚分布地区。

本文使用1999-2008年中国全部国有和规模以上非国有工业企业数据，对集聚经济、要素禀赋等因素在产业动态分布中的作用进行了实证分析。在研究中，为了分析和比较集聚经济的不同类型对产业动态集聚影响的作用方向和程度，本文构建了地区产业专业化、地区产业多样性和地区市场潜能等指标。研究发现，地区产业专业化水平和市场潜能等集聚经济因素对产业的动态集聚有着显著为正的影响，而地区行业多样化水平和地区制造业相对工资增长率的系数则为负的不显著；同时，地区的要素禀赋对中国产业的动态集聚也有重要影响，从而证实新经济地理学和传统的比较优势理论对产业的空间分布都有着重要的解释力。

研究以京广高铁沿线城市为观察样本，构建了高铁开通背景下的内生运输成本与工资的制造业集聚决定模型，利用2000-2014年面板数据，采用处理效应模型探讨了高铁开通对站点城市制造业集聚的影响。结果显示，高铁开通对站点城市制造业集聚效应将逐渐经历集聚加速阶段(阶段Ⅰ)、集聚弱化阶段(阶段Ⅱ)以及扩散阶段(阶段Ⅲ)等三个阶段。高铁开通普遍提高了站点城市制造业的集聚水平，对中心城市制造业集聚的影响处于集聚弱化阶段(阶段Ⅱ)，对非中心城市制造业集聚的影响处于集聚加速阶段(第Ⅰ阶段)。

文章对公路进行分级，对区域进行新的梯度划分，采用1998-2013年中国省际面板数据测算了基于三种不同权重矩阵的市场潜能，在此基础上通过构建相关模型对公路交通影响下区域经济发展的空间关联进行了实证分析。结果发现：中国区域经济发展存在较强的空间溢出效应，快速公路和普通公路均会对经济发展的空间溢出效应产生正向促进作用，且快速公路的作用更为显著；只有在公路路网密度较大的区域内，公路交通才会对经济的溢出效应有显著影响；一省区公路交通发展水平越高，对周边地区经济发展的吸附作用越强，但公路的边际贡献呈逐渐降低趋势；相邻地区公路交通基础设施差距越大，经济发展不平衡程度越大。
