A taxonomic study was carried out on strain D104,which was isolated from deep-sea subsurface sediment of the Arctic Ocean.The bacterium was Gram-negative,oxidase negative and catalase weak positive,rod shape,motile by polar flagellum.Growth was observed at salinities from 0.5 to 6%and temperatures from 4 to 37°C,and it was capable of aesculin hydrolysis,but unable to reduce nitrate to nitrite.Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain D104 belonged to the genus marinomonas,with highest sequence similarity of 97.72%to marinomonas ushuaiensis DSM 15871,followed by other 20 species of genus marinomonas(94.51- 96.94%),while the other genera were all below 91.00%.The ANIm value and DNA-DNA hybridization estimate value between strain D104T and M.ushuaiensis DSM 15871were 84.24%and 20.80 + 2.33%respectively.The principal fatty acids were Sum In Feature 3(C)(27.11%),Sum In Feature 8(C18:1ω7c/Cω6c)(39.67 %),C(12.32%) and C3OH(5.77%).The G+C content of the chromosomal DNA was 44.8 mol%. The respiratory quinone was determined to be Q8(100%).Phosphatidylglycerol(PG), Phosphatidylethanolamine(PE),aminolipid(AL) and Phospholipid(PL) were present.The combined genotypic and phenotypic data show that strain D104 represents a novel species of genus marinomonas, for which the name marinomonas projundimaris sp.***.is proposed,with the type strain D104 (=CGMCCNO.1.12597 = LMG27696=MCCC 1A07573).
