Aim: The present study was designed to determine the effect of a 4-month oral treatment with tablets of Lepidiwnmeyenii (maca) on seminal analysis in nine adult normal men aged 24-44 years old. Methods: Nine men receivedtablets of maca (1500 or 3000 mg/day) for 4 months. Seminal analysis was performed according to guidelines of theWorld Health Organization (WHO). Serum luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin(PRL), testosterone (T) and estradiol (E_2) were measured before and after treatment. Results; Treatment withmaca resulted in increased seminal volume, sperm count per ejaculum, motile sperm count, and sperm motility. Serumhormone levels were not modified with maca treatment. Increase of sperm count was not related to dose of maca.Conclusion: maca improved sperm production and sperm motility by mechanisms not related to LH, FSH, PRL, Tand E_2. Determination and Analysis of Amino Acid Content in maca from Different Habitats and Varieties

[Objectives]To determine and analyze amino acid content in maca from different habitats and varieties.[Methods]maca from two habitats and three colors were selected and a kind of turnip commonly used was to fake maca.After optimizing the hydrolysis conditions,100 mg maca samples were hydrolyzed in the concentration of 6 mol/L hydrochloric acid at 110℃for 24 h.The content range of amino acids in each sample was detected by HPLC.[Results]The average total content of amino acids in maca was 9.52 g/100 g.Yunnan yellow maca contained 16 kinds of amino acids,including 7 kinds of human essential amino acids,accounting for 17.2%of the total amino acids while Yunnan purple maca held 16 kinds of amino acids,counting 7 kinds of human essential amino acids,accounting for 16.5%of the total amino acids.The amino acid ratio coefficient method also showed that the two kinds of maca had higher nutritional value than the others.15 kinds of amino acids were detected in Yunnan black maca,including 6 kinds of essential amino acids,accounting for 9.60%of the total amino acids.Among amino acids in Yunnan maca,the highest content was Arg.A total of 12 kinds of amino acids,together with 6 essential human amino acids,were determined in Peru black maca,accounting for 11.6%of the total amino acids.In Peru black maca the highest concentration of amino acid was Pro.It was noteworthy that the amino acid species were comprehensive in maca,and high level of amino acids resulted in high nutritional value.Its specific amino acid composition ratio was obviously different from Turnip,the counterfeit goods to deceive customers.[Conclusions]The method of automatic amino acid analyzer is simple and accurate,and can be used for the identification and content determination of amino acids in maca as amino acid is an essential nutrient in maca.

A computer program maca was developed for simulating high-dose ion implantation into amorphous solids. The topology of amorphous solids was modelled by adjusting the free flight path distribution between collisions, so that the radial distribution function will characterize the short - range order and long - range disorder of amorphous targets. A simulation example is given.

针对复杂动态不确定环境下的无人机集群对抗问题,基于多智能体强化学习开展了对抗决策方法的研究。首先,基于maca环境构建了无人机集群对抗模型;其次,引入集中训练网络的混合架构模式,改进了传统DDPG算法,设计了面向无人机集群对抗的MADDPG算法,分别采用基于规则的对抗策略和基于DQN的对抗策略对算法进行了训练,提升了对抗算法的鲁棒性、适应性和泛化性;最后,通过搭建对抗仿真环境,验证了所设计方法的有效性和可靠性。

为解决无线网络空间深度覆盖问题,提高空间深度覆盖效果,提出了一种新的无线网络空间深度覆盖规划方法。利用基于K-means聚类算法挖掘无线网络空间深度覆盖规划特征,依据该特征构建递阶层次结构模型,评估无线网络空间深度覆盖性,判定影响覆盖性的全部因素,构建无线网络空间深度覆盖规划模型,运用文化蚁群算法对该模型进行优化求解。实验结果表明,该方法可获取无线网络空间节点最大覆盖率,节点覆盖率极大限度逼近理想覆盖率,且深度覆盖规划所需时间较短。

Qualitative Identification and Semi-Quantitative Comparison of Sucrose in maca (<i>Lepidium meyenii</i>) by Infrared Spectrum Analysis

Objective: In order to establish a method for qualitative identification and semi-quantitative comparison of sucrose in macas by infrared spectral analysis. Methods: Six maca samples with three color types and from two producing areas in Yunnan province (China) were collected. Fourier trans-form infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) of raw maca, ethyl acetate extracts (EtOAc-E), alcohol extracts (EtOH-E) and extracted residues were recorded selectively. Comparative analysis and analysis-through-separation strategies were used to explore the FTIR analytical method for sucrose in maca. Results: Sucrose was proved to be a component in the Lijiang purple maca (LPM) sample by comparative analysis of FTIR and second derivative in-frared spectroscopy (SDIR) with sucrose as a reference substance. Relative higher content of sucrose might be responsible for the distinctive absorption character of FTIR from LPM. With the aid of comparative analysis and analysis-through-separation strategies, conclusions could be drawn that all of the six maca samples in this research contained some sucrose more or less. Furthermore, relative content of sucrose in the LM was higher than those in HM in general. Conclusion: An infrared spectrum analysis method for qualitative identification and semi-quantitative comparison of sucrose in different maca samples was developed. Compared with other analytical methods, the developed method shows unparalleled charm for its inherent merits of convenient, fast, low cost, visual, efficient et al.

Relief of osteoarthritis with a herbal-amino acid supplement: A randomized double-blind placebo controlled trial

A redox active medicinal plant and L-leucine mixture (HLM) was investigated in subjects with established osteoarthritis of the knee in a multi-center, rando- m-ized, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial. A total of 96 subjects with osteoarthritis were enrolled and randomized to either placebo (n = 38) or HLM treatment group (n = 38). The HLM group re- ceived a combination of Uncaria tomentosa (300 mg), Boswellia serrata (200 mg), Lepidium meyenii (1000 mg) and L-Leucine (700 mg) given as 3 capsules once a day. The placebo group received matching capsules with carboxymethylcellulose. The treatment period was 8 weeks, with assessments made at days 7, 14, 28 and 56. The primary outcome was reduction in total WOMAC score. VAS pain, tolerability, investigator assessments, use of rescue medication (acetominophen), and safety assessments of vital signs and laboratory assessments were included. Subject randomization was effective for age, gender and disease severity. In the placebo group 32/38 subjects completed the trial and for HLM 35/38. WOMAC scores (pain, stiffness, physical performance and total) steadily declined over the course of the 8 week study in both groups, but the magnitude was significantly greater for HLM (P < 0.05). Total WOMAC was reduced 46.5% for HLM and 25.4 % for placebo. VAS pain was reduced 21.8% in the placebo group (p < 0.002) but the changes were significantly greater (37.8% p < 0.03) with HLM treatment. Investigator’s global assessment rating of good-excellent was 24/35 (69%) for HLM and 14/32 (44%) for placebo (P = 0.05). Rescue medication consumption and tolerability were comparable for HLM and placebo. No safety issues were evident with either group. As expected a placebo effect was observed, nevertheless HLM was clearly more effective in relieving the symptoms of osteoarthritis. This HLM represents a safe and effective new approach to the management of osteoarthritis symptoms.
