Dynamic Behavior-Based Churn Forecasts in the Insurance Sector

In the insurance sector, a massive volume of data is being generatedon a daily basis due to a vast client base. Decision makers and businessanalysts emphasized that attaining new customers is costlier than retainingexisting ones. The success of retention initiatives is determined not only bythe accuracy of forecasting churners but also by the timing of the forecast.Previous works on churn forecast presented models for anticipating churnquarterly or monthly with an emphasis on customers’ static behavior. Thispaper’s objective is to calculate daily churn based on dynamic variations inclient behavior. Training excellent models to further identify potential churningcustomers helps insurance companies make decisions to retain customerswhile also identifying areas for improvement. Thus, it is possible to identifyand analyse clients who are likely to churn, allowing for a reduction in thecost of support and maintenance. Binary Golden Eagle Optimizer (BGEO)is used to select optimal features from the datasets in a preprocessing step.As a result, this research characterized the customer’s daily behavior usingvarious models such as RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary), MultivariateTime Series (mts), Statistics-based Model (SM), Survival analysis (SA),Deep learning (DL) based methodologies such as Recurrent Neural Network(RNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU),and Customized Extreme Learning Machine (CELM) are framed the problemof daily forecasting using this description. It can be concluded that all modelsproduced better overall outcomes with only slight variations in performancemeasures. The proposed CELM outperforms all other models in terms ofaccuracy (96.4).

Dear Editor, Microtubules （mts） are the major cytoskeletal filaments in living cells. They are highly dynamic structures, and their assembly and disassembly are tightly regulated to achieve specific cellular functions. For example, mts in the cell body are sufficiently dynamic to permit the cell to quickly rearrange its cytoskeleton for morphogenesis or migration. On the other hand, highly-differentiated neurons contain stable subcellular structures such as axons, which often extend for a long distance and are stable for many years. mts in axons are known to be significantly more stable than their counterparts in non-neuronal cells. A significant fraction of mts extracted from the brain is stable upon treatment with Ca2＋ and cold, a condition known to cause the complete disassembly of many other non-neuronal mts [1]. The extraordinary stability of neu- ronal mts is attributed to post-translational modifications including detyrosination, acetylation, polyglutamylation, and polyglycylation [2]. TRISim:A Triage Simulation System to Exploit and Assess Triage Operations for Hospital Managers-Development,Validation and Experiment

Triage is a method for determining the priority of patients’treatment to improve survival rates.Different triage methods are used in hospitals,and they are applied after performing an evaluation based on standard methods such as the Japan Triage Acuity Scale(JTAS)or Emergency Severity Index(ESI).It is important to consider the characteristics of all the hospitals when assigning triage methods and emergency levels to them;the hospital managers make these decisions.We propose a multi-agent simulation method to support the hospital managers in employing the triage protocols according to their environment.We developed a prototype simulation system called TRISim to explore and assess the triage operations.In this paper,we provide an overview of TRISim and present our experimental results to validate the system.

Chemical vapor deposition of SiC at different molar ratios of hydrogen to methyltrichlorosilane

Chemical vapor deposition(CVD) of SiC from methyltrichlorosilane(mts) was studied at two different molar ratios of H2 to mts(n(H2) /n(mts) ) . The total pressure was kept as 100 kPa and the temperature was varied from 850 to 1 100 ℃ at a total residence time of 1 s. Steady-state deposition rates as functions of reactor length and of temperature,investigated at different n(H2) /n(mts) values,show that hydrogen exhibits strongly influences on the deposition rate. Especially,the deposition of Si co-deposit can be obtained in broader substrate length and at higher temperatures with increasing hydrogen partial pressure. Influence of hydrogen on the deposition process was also studied using gas phase composition and deposit composition analysis at various n(H2) /n(mts) . SEM micrographs directly show the variation of surface morphologies at various n(H2) /n(mts) . It can be found that the crystal grain of the deposit at 1 100 ℃ is better developed and the crystallization is also improved with increasing n(H2) /n(mts) .

Epalrestat Enhances mts Reduction Activity Independent of Cell Numbers in Bovine Aortic Endothelial Cells

The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (mts) assay is used as a major method to evaluate cell viability. However, in some cases, the results may reflect mitochondrial status regardless of viability. Epalrestat (EPS) is currently available for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy. In this study, we report that EPS at near-plasma concentrations increases mts reduction activity independent of cell number in bovine aortic endothelial cells. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a key transcription factor that plays a pivotal role in inducing the expression of genes encoding detoxifying and defensive proteins. Sulforaphane (an Nrf2 activator) also increased mts-reducing activity, similar to EPS. Knockdown of Nrf2 by short interfering RNA suppressed EPS-induced mts reduction. These results suggest that EPS increases mts reduction activity via the Nrf2 pathway. Furthermore, the results that EPS increases ATP production and that electron transfer chain inhibitors suppress EPS-induced mts reduction activity suggest that EPS may activate mitochondrial status. Because mitochondrial disorders cause numerous diseases, we suggest that EPS has new beneficial properties that may prevent the development and progression of disorders caused by mitochondrial dysfunction.

针对调制转移光谱稳频(mts)系统中,温度波动会影响激光频率稳定性的问题,设计出多点测温系统。该系统以FPGA为核心,通过基准电压源激励电桥电路,将三线制PT1000温度变化转换为电压变化,利用同步采样ADC对转换电压进行采集,最后在LabVIEW中将采集电压转换为温度实时显示和存储。信号调理电路中的抗射频干扰滤波和FPGA中的均值滤波,可降低噪声干扰,提高测温精度。实验结果表明:该系统具备线性度好、精度高、重复性好的优点,可对10~80℃的温度进行监测和存储,采用分段线性拟合后,其测温误差不超过0.02℃,可以满足实验需求。

Sixteen tropinone derivatives were prepared,and their antitumor activities against five human cancer cells(HL-60,A-549,SMMC-7721,MCF-7 and SW480)were evaluated with mts[3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxy methoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfopheny)-2H-tetrazolium]assay.Most of the derivatives exhibited better activities compared with tropinone at the concentration of 40 pM.Particularly,derivative 6 showed significant activities with IC50 values of 3.39,13.59,6.65,13.09 and 12.38 pM respectively against HL-60,A-549,SMMC-7721,MCF-7 and SW480 cells,which suggested more potent activities than that of cis-dichlorodiamineplatinum(DDP).

为研究服役多年的高速公路预应力空心梁板抗疲劳性能,依托某高速公路改扩建工程,采用大型加载结构mts开展了对服役多年的旧桥梁板抗疲劳性能研究,分析了梁体在循环荷载作用下的受力状况。采用ABAQUS有限元分析软件对旧桥梁板建立实体单元模型,模拟了钢筋混凝土梁板加载的全过程,并与试验数据进行了对比分析。通过对荷载幅值与疲劳寿命试验数据进行拟合分析,得出了梁板疲劳寿命计算公式。结果表明:在前期疲劳作用下,梁板应变及挠度发展较为稳定,后期随着循环次数的增加两者增幅较大;裂缝发展由梁底部向上延伸,并在破坏阶段贯穿顶部;在疲劳荷载作用下,梁体破坏模式为受压区混凝土先破坏,随后受拉区混凝土破坏,属于典型的脆性破坏模式;不同幅值下的梁板破坏时挠度及应变值上下浮动小,但是其疲劳寿命相差较大,荷载幅值的增大不会影响破坏时的挠度和应变值,只对疲劳寿命有影响;0.7M_(max)幅值与0.8M_(max),0.9M_(max),1.0M_(max)幅值分别相差1.14,1.29,1.42倍,其幅值下的疲劳耐受度比值分别为1.96,4.17,9.52倍,可以看出疲劳耐受度不是随荷载幅值的增加而呈线性降低;有限元模拟结果与实际试验数据基本吻合,数据可靠。

The kinetics of zinc transfer reaction between rat liver Cd_5Zn_2-MT and apo-carbonic anhydrase has been studied.Low molecular weight ligands (LMWL) present different effect on the zinc transfer reaction.A possible association mechanism has been proposed,where the formation of protein-protein complex may be the rate-determining step.
