Background:This study examined the determinants of loan repayment among microcredit finance group members in Delta State,***:To capture the determinants of loan repayment in the study area,a total of 48 microcredit groups and 300 microcredit group members were randomly selected through a multi-stage random sampling *** study data was collected by *** tools such as simple descriptive statistics(table,frequency,percentage and mean)and a multiple regression analysis were used to examine the ***:The results indicate that females form a greater proportion of the study area microcredit group members at 70%,moreover 73%of the respondents have a household size of between 6 to 10 *** findings revealed that the groups had a mean 8 years of existence with a mean membership size of 13 ***,an average interest rate of 40 percent per annum was charged on loans,with mean loan duration of 6 *** regression’s result demonstrated that the determinants of the group member’s loan repayment included the group member’s age,household size,house income,and educational level,the amount of credit received,length of stay in their locality,distance to the credit source,supervision and disbursement ***:Therefore it was suggested that the various agricultural microcredit finance groups should carefully examine the significant determinants of loan repayment for the approach’s viability and sustainability and for optimum repayment performance.

Background:Since 2001,the French Armed Forces have sustained many casualties during the Global War on Terror;however,even today,there is no French Military trauma *** French service members(SMs)were treated in US Military Medical Treatment Facilities(MTFs)and were recorded in the US Department of Defense Trauma Registry(Do DTR).Our objective was to conduct a descriptive analysis of the injuries sustained by French SMs reported in the Do DTR and subsequent care provided to them to assist in understanding the importance of building a French Military trauma ***:Using Do DTR data collected from 2001 to 2017,a retrospective descriptive analysis was *** identified 59 French SMs treated in US *** characteristics of the SMs’demographics,injuries,care provided to them,and discharge outcomes were ***:Among the 59 French SMs identified,46(78%)sustained battle injuries(BIs)and 13(22%)sustained nonbattle injuries(NBIs).There were 47(80%)SMs injured in Afghanistan(Opération Pamir),while 12(20%)were injured in Opération Chammal in Iraq and *** accounted for 52.5%of injuries,while 25.4%were due to gunshot wounds;all were *** majority of reported injuries were penetrating(59.3%),most of which were BIs(71.7%).The mean Injury Severity Score for BIs was 12(SD=8.9)compared to 6(SD=1.7)for *** half of SMs(n=30;51%)were injured in Afghanistan between the years 2008–*** a total of 246 injuries sustained by 59 patients,extremities were the body part most prone to BIs followed by the head and *** SMs died after admission(6.8%).Conclusions:The Do DTR provides extensive data on trauma injuries that can be used to inform injury prevention and clinical *** majority of injuries sustained by French SMs were BIs,caused by explosives,and predominantly occurring to the extremities;these findings are similar to those of other studies conducted in combat *** is a need to establish a French Military tr

The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the experiences of community stakeholders on reporting community maternal deaths to relevant authorities in Mangochi District of Malawi. The study employed qualitative hermeneutic phenomenology approach to data collection, analysis and interpretation. It was conducted in three health zones of Mangochi district which are Monkey-bay, Mangochi boma and Namwera zones. Purposive sampling was used to select major community stakeholders on issues of safe motherhood and these were;Village heads, Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs), safe motherhood volunteers and members of village health committees (VHCs). A total of eighteen in-depth interviews and three focus group discussions were conducted. Descriptive statistics were computed for the demographic variables and the qualitative data were analysed using modified Colaizzi (1978) method based on Heideggerian and Gademerian philosophy. Findings showed that community maternal deaths were not always reported because there were no records in the district. Most participants lacked knowledge on the process and their role in reporting community maternal deaths despite knowing the importance of reporting such deaths. However, findings indicated a positive perception of participants towards reporting community maternal deaths to authorities. The study recommends that health education be offered to community members and Health Surveillance Assistants regarding reporting maternal deaths to improve the situation.

FEM and EFG Quasi-Static Explicit Buckling Analysis for Thin-Walled members

The quasi-static explicit finite element method (FEM) and element free Galerkin (EFG) method are applied to trace the post-buckling equilibrium path of thin-walled members in this paper. The factors that primarily control the explicit buckling solutions, such as the computation time, loading function and dynamic relaxation, are investigated and suggested for the buckling analysis of thin-walled members. Three examples of different buckling modes, namely snap-through, overall and local buckling, are studied based on the implicit FEM, quasi-static explicit FEM and EFG method via the commercial software LS-DYNA. The convergence rate and accuracy of the explicit methods are compared with the conventional implicit arc-length method. It is drawn that EFG quasi-static explicit buckling analysis presents the same accurate results as implicit finite element solution, but is without convergence problem and of less-consumption of computing time than FEM.

Constraints Hindering the Adoption of Scientific Dairy Farming Practices by members and Non-members of Dairy Co-operative Societies （DCS）/Milk Producer Institutions （MPI）

The present study was conducted in four districts of Telangana State of India with 120 respondents in which 60 were members and other 60 were non-members of DCSs （Dairy Co-operative Societies）/MPIs （Milk Producer Institutions）. Constraints perceived in dairy farming and suggestions elicited by members and non-members were noted, tabulated and analyzed. The major constraints perceived by half or more than half of members were scarcity of water （91.67%）, lack of green fodder （88.33%）, preferring NS （natural service） than AI （Artificial Insemination）（83.33%）, negligence in feeding pregnant and dry animals （81.37%）, insufficient loan amount （78.33%）, tendency to feed only grass and brans （71.67%）, lack of availability of sufficient labour （70.00%）, lack of remunerative price for milk （66.67%）, high cost of feed （61.67%）, lack of fodder conservation （55.00%） and high cost of animals （50.00%）. Whereas major constraints perceived by non-members were scarcity of water （96.67%）, lack of green fodder （93.33%）, preferring NS than AI （88.33%）, lack of availability of sufficient labour （85.00%）, negligence in feeding pregnant and dry animals （83.33%）, tendency to feed only grass and brans （78.33%）, high cost of animals （75.00%）, complex procedure for obtaining loans （71.67%） and high cost of feed （66.67%）. Suggestions elicited by members majorly were providing subsidy for purchase of animals/providing loans on par with the cost of animal （81.67%）, enhancing the procurement price （70.00%）, providing more incentives （60.00%）, encouraging calf rearing （58.33%） and conducting frequent animal health camps （50.00%）. In case of non-members major suggestions elicited were conducting frequent animal health camps （68.33%） and providing subsidy on purchase of animals/providing loans on par with the cost of animal （58.33%）.
