Objective:National prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) is unknown in China;research on ASD has started *** to now,very few screening and diagnostic instruments that require population norms were available for the Chinese *** needed a properly validated and adapted instrument for the Chinese population to conduct the screening phase of our national prevalence ***,the study aimed at comparing the diagnostic accuracy of asrs and SRS in screening ASD in community children aged from 6 to 12 years ***:According to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria,typically developing children from communities and children diagnosed with ASD by DSM-IV-TR from clinics aged between 6 to 12 years were recruited from 4 cities of China to comprise the study *** of recruited children were invited to complete the mc-asrs and SRS scales with 1-2 weeks *** of the sites were randomly assigned to administer asrs first;the rest of two sites did *** Operating Characteristic(ROC) analysis was performed to compare area under curves of mc-asrs and SRS scores using ASD disease status as gold ***,specificity,positive and negative predictive values were compared by currently adopted cutoff *** optimal cutoff of mcasrs was proposed for screening ASD to obtain best sensitivity and ***:The study sample consisted of 1593 typically developing children from communities(asrs T-scoremc-asrs and SRS showed excellent performance in ROC analysis with AUC of 0.95(95%CI:0.93-0.96-) and0.97(95%CI:0.96-0.98),respectively,with some overlap in the 95%*** the same cutoff of 60 for two scales,mc-asrs and SRS showed similar sensitivity(93.2%vs 94.2%),specificity(83.2%vs 82.2%),positive predict value(39.1%vs 38.7%),and negative predict value(99.0%vs 99.5%).The false-positive rate
