AIM: To investigate how t(11;18)(q21;q21)-positive gastrointestinal malt lymphomas relate to other marginal zone lymphomas with respect to the somatic mutation pattern of the VH genes and the expression of the marker CD27. METHODS: The VH gene of 7 t(11;18)(q21;q21)-positive gastrointestinal malt lymphomas was amplif iedby PCR using family specif ic VH primers and a consensus JH primer. PCR products were sequenced and mutation analysis of the CDR and the FR regions was performed. All cases were immunostained for CD27. RESULTS: One case showed unmutated VH genes while the others showed mutated VH genes with mutation frequencies ranging from 1.3 to 14.7% and with evidence of antigen selection in 2 cases. These data suggest that the translocation t(11;18)(q21;q21) can target either B-cells at different stages of differentiation or naive B-cells that retain the capacity to differentiate upon antigen stimulation. All cases but one displayed weak to strong CD27 expression which did not correlate with the VH gene mutation status. CONCLUSION: t(11;18)(q21;q21)-positive gastro- intestinal malt lymphomas are heterogeneous with respect to the VH mutation status and CD27 is not a marker of somatically mutated B-cells.

Primary breast and gastric lymphomas as manifesta-tions of primary extranodal lymphomas are rare malignancies, and their diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment modalities remain unclear. We report for the first time the simultaneous co-occurrence of these diseases in one patient. A 60-year-old woman was diagnosed with gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma （DLBCL） 2.5 years after she was found to have primary mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue （malt） lymphoma of the breast. Although the patient underwent che-motherapy, she died of leukemia that caused irreversible cytopenia of three lineages. The data show that her malt lymphoma apparently transfigured into gastric DLBCL. This case highlights the importance of evaluating patients for Helicobacter pylori infection when they present with extranodal malt lymphomas, except gastric ones. Positive test findings should prompt anti-H, pylori therapy to prevent malt lymphomas from transforming into DLBCLs.

The levels of five mycotoxins （MT）： deoxynivalenol （DON）, T-2-toxin （T-2）, zearalenone （ZEA）, aflatoxin （Aft）, ochratoxin A （OTA） were measured in malting barley and malt samples by enzyme immunoassay （ELISA）, using test systems RIDASCREEN FAST （R-Biopharm, Germany）. 40 samples of malting barley, mainly from the Central part of European Russia and fewer from the Southern part of, and also some samples from Altai （Asian Russia） were analyzed during 2007-2011 years as well as 120 samples of malt from Russian malting companies. It was found that 17% of barley samples were contaminated with MT; in two cases （5%）, the MT concentration exceeded maximum allowable levels （MAL）. Among malt samples in more than half （in 56%） MT were detected, in 9% of samples, the MT concentration exceeded MAL （Aft-3 incidents, T-2-3 incidents, OTA-2 incidents, ZEA-1 incident）. Maximum levels ofmycotoxins in malt were found to be higher than those in barley. These facts support the idea about risky conditions during malting processing.

Aiming to optimize the beer production process by improving the properties of beer and reducing production costs at the J.S.C. ＂Birra Peja＂ brewery, Peja, Kosovo, this study did an evaluation of beer produced using six different malts. Four of the six studied malts were produced in four European countries： Ukraine, Croatia, Serbia and Kosovo; and, the other two malts were obtained from two （2） 30：70 proportion mixtures： one from Kosovo and Ukraine and another one from Kosovo and Croatia. Chemical, microbiological, sensory and tasting analyses were carried on beers produced by these malts. The study included three working groups from：＂Birra Peja＂; the Agricultural University of Tirana, Albania and ＂Union Brewery＂, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Chemical and microbiological tests were based on methods under the EBC （European Beer Convention） and MEBAK （Mitteleurop^iische Brautechnische Analysenkommision e.V.） guidelines. The analyses and assessments made for the quality of beer have come to the conclusion that beer produced by Croatian origin malt corresponds to a better quality beer.

The endoscopic findings of gastric malt lymphoma are variable, making its diagnosis very difficult. Although there are many reports on the endoscopic findings of gastric cancer, there are few on those of gastric malt lymphoma. Herein, we summarize the reports on the endoscopic findings of gastric malt lymphoma, and report its endoscopic diagnosis.

检查API2-malt1融合基因多种变异体mRNA在malt淋巴瘤中的表达情况,探讨其表达与malt淋巴瘤的临床病理特征及预后的关系。方法:收集胃和肺malt淋巴瘤石蜡包埋标本共29例,慢性淋巴结炎5例。采用RT-PCR和巢式PCR相结合检测malt淋巴瘤中API2-malt1的mRNA。将29例分为API2-malt1mRNA表达组及未表达组,了解两组患者临床病理学特征和预后的差异。结果:malt淋巴瘤中两种API2-malt1变异体被检出,总检出率为48.2%,慢性淋巴结炎未检出,与未表达组相比,表达组临床病理分期偏低,细胞增殖活性和淋巴结受累有降低和减轻的趋势,两组间病变范围、浸润深度等特征及预后无明显差异。结论:API2-malt1mRNA的表达可能与malt淋巴瘤的淋巴结受累、临床病理分期及细胞增殖有关,与malt淋巴瘤的浸润深度、病变范围及预后等无明显相关;不同的变异体表达与malt淋巴瘤的发生部位有关。

AEG-1和LEF-1在眼附属器MALT淋巴瘤的表达及意义

目的:研究AEG-1(astrocyte elevated gene-1)、LEF-1(即淋巴细胞增强因子)在眼附属器粘膜相关组织淋巴瘤(marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue type,malt)和反应性淋巴组织增生的表达,从蛋白和基因水平探讨AEG-1和LEF-1的表达与眼附属器malt淋巴瘤发生发展关系,其蛋白表达与临床病理特征的关系和两者蛋白表达的相互关系及可能的机制。方法:搜集1995年1月到2015年1月青岛大学附属医院眼科病理实验室眼附属器malt淋巴瘤石蜡包埋标本和冻存组织,其中40例石蜡标本、8例冻存组织为实验组,对照组为反应性淋巴组织增生,其中石蜡标本20例、冻存组织8例。应用免疫组织化学染色法检测AEG-1和LEF-1蛋白水平的表达,应用实时荧光定量PCR法检测实验组和对照组中AEG-1和LEF-1m RNA水平的表达,统计学分析采用SPSS17.0。结果:***-1的蛋白表达及m RNA含量:***-1阳性颗粒主要定位在细胞胞膜上,少量在胞浆内(图3)。b.眼附属器malt淋巴瘤中AEG-1的阳性表达率(62.5%)显著高于反应性淋巴组织增生(Pmalt淋巴瘤的临床分期有关(Pmalt淋巴瘤中显著高于反应性淋巴组织增生(Pmalt淋巴瘤中LEF-1的阳性表达率(65%)显著高于反应性淋巴组织增生(Pmalt淋巴瘤的临床分期有关(Pmalt淋巴瘤中显著高于反应性淋巴组织增生(Pmalt淋巴瘤的关系:AEG-1和LEF-1在眼附属器malt组织中表达增高,阳性表达率分别为62.5%、65%,两者之间存在正相关(Pmalt淋巴瘤的发生发展,两者表达成正相关,可能通过某种模式在眼附属器malt中发挥作用。两种因子可能成为眼附属器malt淋巴瘤的诊断标记物,为眼附属器淋巴瘤病理诊断提供依据。
