To the Editor:The nomenclature for steatotic liver disease has been a topic of debate since 2020.The conventional expression,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),was introduced in 1980 to describe the occurrence of steatosis in the absence of other hepatic diseases.However,in recent years,there has been a growing movement to phase out and retire this term.In 2020,Eslam et al^([1])proposed a new definition—metabolic(dysfunction)associated fatty liver disease(mafLD)—redefining the disease to include hepatic steatosis along with other factors such as diabetes,obesity,overweight,or meeting the criteria for metabolic dysfunction.

In 2020,international consensus guidelines recommended renaming a non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)to metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(mafLD)(1).However,these two terms are not interchangeable.Diagnosis of mafLD is established while hepatic steatosis(diagnosed by the use of non-invasive methods as well as liver biopsy)is accompanied by overweight/obesity or type 2 diabetes(T2D)or two or more metabolic risk factors,including increased waist circumference(with cut off values specific for the population),arterial hypertension,hypertriglyceridemia,low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)(<40 mmol/L in women and<50 mmol/L in men),prediabetes(impaired fasting glucose,impaired glucose tolerance or glycated hemoglobin 5.7-6.4%).

This study aimed to evaluate if macular autofluorescence(maf) is a valuable, non-invasive follow-up parameter for cystoid macular edema. A total of 71 eyes(71 cases) with cystoid macular edema(CME) were included in the study. Macular pigment(MP) was evaluated using HRA2(infrared) IF and FA models. The density of MP was graded into three categories: without, partial, and normal amount of MP. A comparison was made between the baseline(before the first administration) level and at the fourth month, following three consecutive intravitreal lucentis injections every month. The morphology and distribution of maf, and the density and distribution of MP were regarded as the main outcome measures. At the baseline visit, all eyes with CME had petaloid/irregular-shaped maf in the macular area(100%). No maf was detected in the control eyes(0). There was significant difference in maf between the CME and normal groups(P=0.000). At the fourth monthly visit, normal levels of MP density without maf was detected in 68 eyes(95.8%) with the best corrected spectacular visual acuity increasing to at least 1 line accordingly. We conclude that macular maf can be used as a follow-up parameter for patients with CME. MP and maf can indirectly reflect the fovea cone function.

With the widespread increase in energy intake and physical inactivity,the prevalence of metabolic health is declining.Consequently,metabolic associated fatty liver disease(mafLD)[formerly known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)]has risen in prevalence and present a significant challenge to global health causing considerable morbidity and mortality,particularly when fibrosis is present(1).

Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(mafLD)(1),formerly known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,is a major causes of liver cirrhosis(2).mafLD represents a growing global health and economic burden since approximately one in four people have the disease(3).As a consequence,mafLD-related cirrhosis is expected to become the leading cause for liver failure and liver cancer,and the major indication for liver transplantation this century(3).

淋巴细胞白血病是一种血液性的恶性肿瘤,按病程缓急分为急性和慢性,急性型常见于儿童,慢性型多见于中老年患者。分子靶向治疗是淋巴细胞白血病新型的治疗方式,研究其分子发病机制,可为临床新药研发提供参考[1-3]。研究表明血液恶性肿瘤中lncRNAs的异常表达参与其进展过程[4]。研究报道沉默lncRNA mafG-AS1通过调控miR-3196抑制胰腺癌细胞增殖和迁移,促进胰腺癌细胞凋亡[5]。敲低mafG-AS1可通过调节miR-150-5p抑制乳腺癌细胞的增殖和迁移[6]。沉默mafG-AS1抑制肺腺癌细胞增殖,诱导细胞凋亡[7]。

Comparisons of improved genomic predictions generated by different imputation methods for genotyping by sequencing data in livestock populations

Background:Genotyping by sequencing(GBS)still has problems with missing genotypes.Imputation is important for using GBS for genomic predictions,especially for low depths,due to the large number of missing genotypes.Minor allele frequency(maf)is widely used as a marker data editing criteria for genomic predictions.In this study,three imputation methods(Beagle,IMPUTE2 and FImpute software)based on four maf editing criteria were investigated with regard to imputation accuracy of missing genotypes and accuracy of genomic predictions,based on simulated data of livestock population.Results:Four mafs(no maf limit,maf≥0.001,maf≥0.01 and maf≥0.03)were used for editing marker data before imputation.Beagle,IMPUTE2 and FImpute software were applied to impute the original GBS.Additionally,IMPUTE2 also imputed the expected genotype dosage after genotype correction(GcIM).The reliability of genomic predictions was calculated using GBS and imputed GBS data.The results showed that imputation accuracies were the same for the three imputation methods,except for the data of sequencing read depth(depth)=2,where FImpute had a slightly lower imputation accuracy than Beagle and IMPUTE2.GcIM was observed to be the best for all of the imputations at depth=4,5 and 10,but the worst for depth=2.For genomic prediction,retaining more SNPs with no maf limit resulted in higher reliability.As the depth increased to 10,the prediction reliabilities approached those using true genotypes in the GBS loci.Beagle and IMPUTE2 had the largest increases in prediction reliability of 5 percentage points,and FImpute gained 3 percentage points at depth=2.The best prediction was observed at depth=4,5 and 10 using GcIM,but the worst prediction was also observed using GcIM at depth=2.Conclusions:The current study showed that imputation accuracies were relatively low for GBS with low depths and high for GBS with high depths.Imputation resulted in larger gains in the reliability of genomic predictions for GBS with lower depths.These results suggest that the applicat
