Transient Stability Analysis of Grid-connected Converters in Wind Turbine Systems Based on Linear lyapunov Function and Reverse-time Trajectory

As the proportion of converter-interfaced renewable energy resources in the power system is increasing,the strength of the power grid at the connection point of wind turbine generators(WTGs)is gradually *** research has shown that when connected with the weak grid,the stability of the traditional grid-following controlled converters will deteriorate,and they are prone to unstable phenomena such as *** to the limitations of linear analysis that cannot sufficiently capture the stability phenomena,transient stability must be *** far,standalone time-domain simulations or analytical lyapunov stability criteria have been used to investigate transient ***,the time-domain simulations have proven to be computationally too heavy,while analytical methods are difficult to formulate for larger systems,require many modelling assumptions,and are often conservative in estimating the stability *** paper proposes and demonstrates an innovative approach to estimating the transient stability boundary via combining the linear lyapunov function and the reverse-time trajectory *** proposed methodology eliminates the need of time-consuming simulations and the conservative nature of lyapunov *** study brings out the clear distinction between the stability boundaries with different post-fault active current ramp rate *** the same time,it provides a new perspective on critical clearing time for wind turbine *** stability boundary is verified using time-domain simulation studies.

Global Stability of a Viral Infection Model with Defectively Infected Cells and Latent Age

The authors propose and analyze a viral infection model with defectively infected cells and age of the latently infected cells. The existence of steady states is determined by the basic reproduction number of virus. With the lyapunov's direct method, they establish a threshold dynamics of the model with the basic reproduction number of virus as the threshold parameter. To achieve it, a novel procedure is proposed. Its novelties are two-folded. On one hand, the coefficients involved in the specific forms of the used lyapunov functionals for the two feasible steady states are determined by the same set of inequalities. On the other hand, for the infection steady state, a new approach is proposed to check whether the derivative of the lyapunov functional candidate along solutions is negative(semi-)definite or not. This procedure not only simplifies the analysis but also exhibits the relationship between the two lyapunov functionals for the two feasible steady states. Moreover, the procedure is expected to be applicable for other similar models.

Feedback control design with vibration suppression for flexible air-breathing hypersonic vehicles

This paper investigates the problem of feedback control design with vibration suppression for a flexible air-breathing hypersonic vehicle(FAHV).FAHV includes intricate coupling between the engine and flight dynamics,as well as complex interplay between flexible and rigid modes,which results in an intractable system for the control *** this paper,a longitudinal model,which is described by a coupled system of ordinary diferential equations(ODEs)and partial diferential equations(PDEs),is ***,a linearized ODE model for the rigid part is established around the trim condition,while vibration of the fuselage is described by ***,based on the lyapunov direct method,a control law via ODE state feedback and PDE boundary output feedback is designed for the system such that the closed-loop exponential stability is ***,simulation results are given to illustrate the efectiveness of the proposed design method.

This paper considers the consensus control problem for a class of non-holonomic chained systems. A smooth static distributed control algorithm is proposed with the aid of the lyapunov direct method and La Salle invariance principle. Strict stability analysis for the closed-loop system is presented, proving the global asymptotic convergence of the consensus errors to zero under the undirected connected assumption on communication topology. A numeric simulation is carried out showing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

This paper presents an observer-based dynamic feedback control design for a linear parabolic partial differential equation（PDE） system, where a finite number of actuators and sensors are active over part thereof and at specified points in the spatial domain, respectively. In the proposed design method, a Luenberger-type PDE observer is first constructed by using the non-collocated pointwise measurements to exponentially tract the state of the PDE system. Based on the estimated state,a collocated local piecewise state feedback controller is then proposed. By employing lyapunov direct method, integration by parts, Wirtinger’s inequality and first mean value theorem for integrals, a sufficient condition on exponential stability of the resulting closed-loop system is presented in term of standard linear matrix inequalities（LMIs）. Numerical simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

This paper discusses the problem of exponential stabilization via nonlinear feedback compensator for a semi-linear parabolic distributed parameter system with boundary control and non-collocated boundary observation. In the light of T-S fuzzy partial differential equation（PDE） model and observer-based output feedback control, a fuzzy observer-based output feedback fuzzy compensator is constructed via non-collocated boundary observation such that the resulting closed-loop system is exponentially stable. Both T-S fuzzy control technique and observer-based output feedback control technique are applied to overcome the design difficulties caused by nonlinear system dynamics and non-collocation between control and observation,respectively. By lyapunov’s direct method with a variant of vector-valued weighted Poincare-Wirtinger inequality, a sufficient condition for the existence of the fuzzy feedback compensator is given in the form of linear matrix inequalities（LMIs）. Finally,numerical simulation results are provided to support the proposed feedback control method.
