The chemiluminescence (CL) reactions between lucigenin and four rare metal reductants were studied systematically using a flow injection *** results show that the reactions can be used for determination of rare *** probable mechanism of the CL reactions involves the reduction of dissolved oxygen to the superoxide radical O - 2·by the reductant,followed by the O - 2·reacting with alkaline Lu to generate *** pathway involves a dioxetane intermediate.

＜正＞Rutin, a flavanoid glucoside known as vitamin P, is an oral capillary preservatory drug, usually used for the therapy of chronic venous insufficiency. An inhibitory effect of rutin on the chemiluminescence （CL） reaction between lucigenin and hydrogen peroxide was reported, and this effect was used for the determination of rutin in medicine. The CL signal produced by the reaction between lucigenin and H2O2, was decreased in the presence of rutin. Rutin was sensed by measuring the decrement of CL intensity, and which was observed to be linear over 1×10-6M - 1×10-4M rutin concentration range, and the limit of detection was 2.5×10-7M. The concentrations of lucigenin, H2O2, NaOH and flow rate of the manifold were all optimized. The method proposed was applied successfully in the determination of rutin in pharmaceutical preparations .

＜正＞A chemiluminescence （CL） sensor for bilirubin combined flow-injection method was described in this paper. The analytical reagents involved in the CL reaction, including lucigenin and sodium periodate, were both immobilized on an anion-exchange column in FI system. The CL signal produced by the reaction between lucigenin and sodium periodate, which were eluted from the column through sodium phosphate injection, was decreased in the presence of bilirubin. The effects of eluant concentration, sodium hydroxide concentration, the molar ratio of lucigenin and periodate on the CL intensity were investigated. Under the optimum conditions, the present method allows the determination of bilirubin over the range from 0.05847 μg/ml to 58.47 μg/ml with the detection limit of 0.0125 μg/ml （3σ）. The correlation coefficient （R） is 0.99746 . The relative standard deviation was 0.9978 % for 1.0×10-4M of bilirubin （n = 11）.

The chemiluminescence reactions between lucigenin and reductants such as Mo(LII),V( II), U(III), W(III), Cr(II), Ti(III) and Fe( II), which were produced on-line by passing Mo(VI),V(V),U(VI), W(VI), Cr(VI,III),Ti(IV) and Fe(III) through a micro Jones column, are studied in detail. Results show that the reactions can be used directly for the determination of these substances. The mechanism of the reactions is also investigated.

Chemiluminescence Determination of Molybdenum by on-Line Reduction with a Flow Injection System

The chemiluminescence (CL) reaction between lucigenin (Lu) and molybdenum (III) produced by a Jones reductor was investigated using a flow injection system. On the basis of this, a novel method for the determination of trace amount of molybdenum has been established. The emission intensity was linear with molybdenum concentration in the range of 0.1-1000 ng/mL; the detection limit was 0.02 ng/mL molybdenum; the relative standard deviation was less than 2% for the determination of 0.1 ng/mL molybdenum (n=11). The method has been applied successfully to the analysis of trace molybdenum in water and steel samples.
