This paper presents the experimental results of low cost inertial navigation system （INS） and global positioning system （GPS） integration using adaptively robust filtering method. Accurate dynamic modeling and proper measurements that fits the model are basic requirements for the conventional Kalman filter. The low cost MEMS based inertial sensors have poor run-to-run stability and their stochastic properties vary depending on the vehicle dynamics and environmental conditions. The performance of the Kalman filter is affected by the measurement outliers. In this paper, a new adaptively robust filter is intro- duced which works on the principle of robust estimation to resist the disturbances due to system process and measurement noises. Adaptive factor by two segment function is estimated which adaptively adjust the Kalman gain and covariance of the error state. Experimental results show that the proposed filter improve the accuracy of SINS/GPS integrated navigation system.
