Quasinormal modes of the scalar field in five-dimensional lovelock black hole spacetime

In this paper, using the third-order WKB approximation, we investigate the quasinormal frequencies of the scalar field in the background of a five-dimensional lovelock black hole. We find that the ultraviolet correction to Einstein theory in the lovelock theory makes the scalar field decay more slowly and oscillate more quickly, and the cosmological constant makes the scalar field decay more slowly and oscillate more slowly in the lovelock black hole background.

Phase transition is important for understanding the nature and evolution of the black hole thermodynamic *** this study,we predicted the phase transition of the third-order lovelock black hole using the winding numbers in complex analysis,and qualitatively validated this prediction by the generalized free *** the 7black holes in hyperbolic topology and the 7-dimensional black hole in spherical topology,the winding number obtained is three,which indicates that the system undergoes first-order and second-order phase *** the 7black holes in spherical topology,the winding number is four,and two scenarios of phase transitions exist,one involving a purely second-order phase transition and the other involving simultaneous first-order and second-order phase *** result further deepens the research on black hole phase transitions using the complex analysis.

We investigate Hawking radiation from a five-dimensional lovelock black hole using the Hamilton- Jacobi method. The behavior of the rate of radiation is plotted for various values of tile ultraviolet correction parameter and the cosmological constant. The results show that, owing to the ultraviolet correction and the presence of dark energy represented by the cosmological constant, the black hole radiates at a slower rate in comparison to the case without ultraviolet correction or cosmological constant. Moreover, the presence of the cosmological constant makes the effect of the ultraviolet correction on the black hole radiation negligible.
