Based on an analysis of the 1H NMR,FT-IR,UV-vis spectra,a chiral trimeric phenylene vinylene derivative（ChTPV） synthesized by a Wittig reaction was determined to have a trans-cis configuration, and it could be isomerized to the trans-trans isomer when treated with *** melting point of ChTPV with a trans-trans configuration increased by 162.1℃compared to the trans-cis isomer,and the ChTPV with trans-trans configuration exhibited the typical liquid-crystalline texture of the smectic A in the heating *** results indicated that the molecular configuration can influence the formation of the liquid crystalline phase of ChTPV.

The trimeric phenylenevinylene with the symmetrical chiral end-groups （ChTPV） was synthesized. The liquid crystalline and luminescent properties of the ChTPV have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, polarized optical microscopy （POM）, absorption and photoluminescence spectra. The results indicated that the ChTPV exhibits mesophase over a wide temperature range and a typical optical texture of smectic phase. In contrast with the spectra of the solution, that of the film showed blue-shift in maximal absorption and red-shift in maximal emission due to H-type aggregation with parallel alignment of the TPV transition dipole moment.

Circularly polarized light（CPL）,regarded as a true chiral entity,has been suggested as one possible origin of the homochirality in *** still remained difficult to understand the exact mechanism of chiral induction,transfer and amplification in supramolecular ***,we designed and synthesized three discotic diacetylene LC monomer,in which the periphery diacetylene flexible chains linked to the triazole derivatives cores though H-bonding or covalent *** established links between the primary chemical structures of discotic diacetylene monomer,liquid crystals phase structures and optical active properties in final supramolecular ***,the type of the junction bonding interactions exhibited a significant influence on the chiral transfer in supramolecular columnar LC system,and the configurations maintenance of helical PDA chains upon thermal stimuli.

SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF METAL COMPLEXES OF β-DIKETONE BASED SIDE CHAIN liquid CRYSTAL POLYSILOXANE

Due to the intense anisotropic orientation interaction between the rigidchains,it is arduous to form the bending microphase separation structures with the curving interface between the two components of therod-coil di-block copolymers,which limits the richness of the phase *** by this consideration,we investigated the self-assembly of rod-coil star-ABC copolymer in 3D positional space by using the self-consistent field theory（SCFT）based on the rigid rod model for stiff chainand the Gaussian chain model for flexible *** pseudospectral algorithm was adopted to solve the modified diffusion equations for the coil chain,and the triangular meshes algorithm was used to disperse the orientation of the *** results obtained includednovel phases like wafer-biscuit-like phase,3DR90P phase,double-gyroid phase,and perforated lamellar phase,which have not been found in rod-coil di-block *** phase behavior ofrod-coil star copolymers,the orientation of the rod component,andthe liquid crystalline behavior were also *** results provided an idea for the synthesis of custom structure polymer,as well as deepened understanding of self-assembly of rod-coil star copolymer.

A new type of metal coordinated liquid crystalline polymers has been synthesized by complexation of metal ions with β-diketone based side chain liquid crystal polysiloxane (DKLCP). The complexation of copper ions with DKLCP greatly increases the phase transition temperature T_k from crystalline state to liquid crystalline state and T_(cl) from LC to isotropic state and makes the range of phase transition ΔT (ΔT=T_(cl)-T_k) widened. These complexes are soluble in common organic solvents. However, the incorporation of europium ions into DKLCP molecules gives rise to reduction in liquid crystallinity and crosslinking in some cases. The DKLCP coordinated with suitable amount of Eu ions can show good liquid crystallinity and fluorescent property.
