In this paper,a novel line segment detection method based on probability map is ***,the local gradient information is used to estimate if a pixel belongs to a line segment and a probability map is *** probability map combines gradient orientation with gradient magnitude information and can provide candidate points for edge chain ***,these candidate points are connected together to generate edge chains and then edge chains are split to candidate line segments by using least square line fitting *** last,we apply Helmholtz principle to validate the detected line *** results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other methods in term of visual comparison and quantitative assessment.

A simplified pipeline for line segment detection

A real-time CNN-based method is proposed to detect line segments of a given image with a simple and compact pipeline, named as Center-based line segment Detector（Centerline）. A line segment is modeled by its center-point with two offsets along the x-axis and y-axis. Under that representation, the localization, direction and length of a line segment can be encoded simultaneously. The method uses keypoint estimation to find the center point of a line and regresses its *** experimental results on the Wireframe dataset and the YorkUrban dataset show that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance with 49 FPS in inference speed, which is outperforming most of the existing line segment *** good performance and rapidity, our method is applicable to practical systems with real-time requirements.
