Acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)is a worldwide epidemic caused by human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)*** medicines for eliminating the viral reservoir and eradicating the virus are urgently *** to locate relatively safe and non-toxic medications from natural resources are ongoing ***-product-based antiviral candidates have been exploited to a limited ***,antiviral research is inadequate to counteract for the resistant ***-derived bioactive compounds hold promise as powerful pharmacophore scaffolds,which have shown anti-HIV *** review focuses on a consideration of the virus,various possible HIV-controlling methods and the recent progress in alternative natural compounds with anti-HIV activity,with a particular emphasis on recent results from natural sources of anti-HIV agents.

Although the advent of combination antiretroviral therapy can efficiently suppress human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)replication,a complete cure for HIV infection cannot be achieved due to the existence of latent viral *** recent years,investigation of HIV cure strategies has become a hot topic in the *** this article,we review the major barriers to HIV cure,compare the progress and challenges of non-specific and specific latent reversal agents in curing HIV,and discuss possible solutions to the current problems.
