Yanchi County is located in the agro-pastoral ecotone and belongs to the ecologically fragile area of Northwest *** is important to study the evolution of landscape pattern to curb its environmental *** order to intuitively show how the landscape pattern of the study area changes over time,Landsat Thematic Mappers(TM)and Landsat Operational Land Imager(OLI)data of 1991,2000,2010 and 2017 were *** paper attempts to apply niche theories and methods into landscape ecology,and constructs a niche model of landscape components by using"n-dimentional hypervolume niche theory"and landscape pattern *** evaluating the spatial and temporal evolution of niche from the perspective of two-dimensional space to reflect the changes of landscape pattern in the study area over the past 26 years,new theories and methods were introduced for the characterization of landscape *** results indicate that:1)The larger the attribute and dominance value of landscape components,the higher the ecological niche and the stronger the control effect on the overall landscape.2)The ecological niche of each landscape component was significantly different,just as its control effect on the overall landscape.3)The dynamic change of the ecological niche of each landscape component was different,with grassland,unused land and arable land always in a high dominant position,although the ecological niche of construction land and water area was always *** general,the introduction of niche theory into the landscape ecology provided a new method to study the changes in regional landscape pattern.

Dongling District of Shenyang City is an ecotone between city and countryside. Human disturbance causes serious changes of the landscape pattern studed by using indices of landscape pattern: proportion in land cover types,average area and number of patches,fractal dimension of patches,indices of diversity, dominance and contagion and index of human *** are many changes of the landscape pattern of Dongling District for the last 30 *** landscape pattern is breaking, the diversity is increasing and the dominance is *** are different fractal dimension and contagion in distinct geomorphological *** changes of landscape pattern bring some beneficial results but causes deterioration of ecological environment.

Simulation of landscape pattern of Old Growth Forests of Korean Pine By Block Kriging

The study area was located in Liangshui Natural Reserve. Xaoxing'an Mountains. Northeastern China. Korean pine forests are the typical forest ecosystems and landscapcs in this region. It is a high degrees of spatial and temporal hetcrogeneity at different scales, which effected on landscape pattern and processes. In this paper we used the data of 144 plots and semivariogram to analyze spatial heterogeneity of old growth forests of Korean pine in landscape level. Model for forest variations by isotropic semivariogram is linear with sill. The spatial heterogeneity is dependent on scales and dircctions in Korean pine forests. patterns of forest types in space were resulted from complex interactions between physical and biological forces. We uscd 20 metres for interpolation interval to cstimate the values of unsampled area. Comparing the results with field data, block kriging and mapping are an cffective techniques to simulate landscape pattern.

Structure regulation of land use and landscape pattern changes based on matter element analysis in a small watershed in Sichuan,China

The agricultural land suitability assessment based on the natural characteristics of land blocks is traditionally the basis for agricultural and/or land use *** assessment,however,is static and cannot be incorporated with potential land use ***,a dynamic approach,i.e.,matter element analysis,has been effectively applied for land use *** the present study,based on matter element analysis,we estab-lished a matter element analysis model for land use suitability assessment using the suitability grade of land use,evaluation indicators and their characteristic values as matter elements,and also using sutra field,controlled field,weight value and correlation degree from field survey,as well as an expert *** model was applied to the structure regulation of the land use in the small Yuejiagou watershed of the Langzhong Municipality in Sichuan Province,*** show that the proportion among agriculture,forestry and animal husbandry tended to rationalize land *** economic and eco-logical indices of the lands were increased from 1529.8 to 1719.99 and from 1460.94 to 1758.21 after the regulation,*** regulation also caused changes in landscape patterns as follows:The indices of diversity and evenness were increased from 1.3028 to 2.0920 and from 0.6108 to 0.8463,or by 60.58%and 38.56%,***,the indices of dominance and contagion were decreased from 0.6431 to 0.2106 and from 0.7467 to 0.7125,*** indicated that the land use in the small watershed was *** spatial distribution of patches tended to be *** patch congregation was gradually *** study verified that the matter element analysis approach can not only overcome the factitious influences and improve the precision of land assessment,but also can be used for the structure regu-lation of specific patches.

To characterize the urbanization pattern quantitatively,a study on the mechanisms of the landscape pattern formation could facilitate the understanding on urban landscape patterns and processes,the ecological and socioeconomic consequences of urbanization,as well as the establishment of more effective strategies for landscape *** this study,we integrated a Geographic Information System(GIS)-based analysis on landscape pattern with an artificial neural network(ANN)to quantitatively characterize the urbanization pattern of the metropolitan area of Shanghai,China,and to establish an ANN model that could preferably simulate the responses of urban landscape pattern to the natural and socioeconomic factors such as residence area,road density,population density,urban development history and the Huangpu River as an element of economic *** results showed that the ANN model seems appropriate for studying the nonlinear relationship among the forcing factors of urbanization and the urban landscape patterns,which provided an effective and practical approach for further understanding the mechanisms of the landscape formation pattern and the reciprocal relationship between landscape spatial pattern and ecological process.

Trend surface analysis of forest landscape pattern in Guandishan forest region of Shanxi,China

landscape pattern is a widely used concept for the demonstration of landscape characteristic features. The integral spatial distribution trend of landscape elements is interested point in the landscape ecological research, especially in those of complex secondary forest regions with confusing mosaics of land cover. Trend surface analysis which used in community and population ecological researches was introduced to reveal the landscape pattern. A reasonable and reliable approach for application of trend surface analysis was provided in detail. As key steps of the approach, uniform grid point sampling method was developed. The efforts were also concentrated at an example of Guandishan forested landscape. Some basic rules of spatial distribution of landscape elements were exclaimed. These will be benefit to the further study in the area to enhance the forest sustainable management and landscape planning.

Correlation Between Economic Development Level and landscape pattern in Beijing Peri-urban Areas

With the rapid changes of demographic and socio-economic structure, various ecological and environmental problems have emerged in peri-urban areas. Studies on the correlation between socio-economic development and eco-environmental preservation are inadequate. This paper analyzes the landscape pattern of peri-urban areas to address this issue. First, it studies the differentiation of economic development levels in Beijing peri-urban areas. Then, it explores the correlation between economic development level of each town and its landscape pattern using Pearson Correlation and grade difference indices. Furthermore, it summarizes the problems within current landscape pattern. Three conclusions are drawn from the analysis: (1) on the whole, the economic de- velopment level in Beijing peri-urban areas basically matches with landscape pattern; (2) landscape contagion degree decreases with the growth of economic development level in as much as 30% of Beijing peri-urban areas. This is an irrational phenomenon accord- ing to our judgment; (3) landscape fragmentation grades in more than half of the towns are higher than their economic development grades, suggesting that attention should be paid to excessive fragmentation of land use.

Characterization of landscape pattern based on land economic niche change: A case study in Ganzhou,Gansu Province, China

Land use change has a profound impact on biodiversity and ecological processes, and is closely related to changes in landscape patterns. This paper introduces the theory and method of land economic niche into landscape ecology, which provides a new method for spatial characterization of urban and rural spatial landscape patterns. Based on this theory, this paper analyzes the landscape pattern of Ganzhou District by using Landsat images as data source in 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. We calculated the land economic niche by applying the niche potential theory. Combined with the theory of landscape ecology, we explored the effects of the land economic niche change on the landscape pattern at a county scale. The results show that economic niche of construction land, watershed and farmland increased during 1995-2015, and grassland declined significantly. The economic niche of farmland, construction land, watershed and grassland show a negative correlation with the number of patches （NP）, fragmentation index （FN） and the fractal dimension index （FD）, and had a positive correlation with the aggregation index （AI）. There was no significant correlation between the forest land economic niche and landscape metrics. The change of land economic niche has a driving effect on the landscape pattern of the county, which can represent the economic development direction of Ganzhou District. The land economic niche is closely related to the landscape type which can directly obtain an economic benefit.

Shrubs is one of the major types of natural terrestrial *** is one of the largest shrubs distribution countries in the world,and the mountainous area of west Sichuan in the southwest region is one of the key distribution ***,the basic data of shrubs has long been *** study was designed to document and map the landscape pattern of the shrubs by using land use data with the help of field survey data and well-established landscape *** study area was classifi ed into 7 fi rst-class land cover types and 19 second-class shrubs *** results showed that grassland,forest,and shrubs landscapes are 3 dominant *** landscape showed high quality,fragmentation,aggregation and diversity,richness of *** on these,this paper also presented an outspread discussion on the tourism aesthetic value of *** conclusion is that the aesthetic value and tourism resources value of shrubs are both considerable,especially for Rhododendron *** ecotourism is suitable for shrubs’exploration and environmental *** distribution of shrubs landscape and discussing its tourism aesthetic value can provide a reference and idea for future research.

landscape pattern and diversity of natural secondary forests in the eastern mountainous region, northeast China:A case study of Mao'ershan region in Heilongjiang Province

Mao抏rshan region is a representative natural secondary forested region in the eastern mountainous region, north-east of China. Under the support of ARC/INFO, the landscape pattern and landscape diversity of Maoerhshan region were studied by combining the forest type map (1:10000), which was drawn from the aerial photographs (1999), field investigation and land utilization map (1:10000). The selected indices included patch number, patch size, patch density index, richness index, dominance index, evenness index and diversity index. The results showed that the landscape dominant forest type in Mao抏rshan region was softwood broad-leaved forest. In all landscape types, the average patch area of natural secondary for-ests was bigger than that of artificial forest. The patch density index of each landscape formed in artificial forest was higher than that of natural secondary forest. The landscape diversity index and landscape evenness index of natural forest were highest, the landscape heterogeneity was also, but the landscape dominance was lower. In natural forest, the control effects of landscape elements on landscape-structure, function and its change were weakened. The artificial forest was on the contrary.
