The COVID-19 pandemic has struck nations worldwide,pushing worldwide health and socioeconomic systems to extreme *** factors,such as drastic alterations in public environments,prolonged quarantine,revenue loss,and anxiety of disease contraction,have caused mental *** there was a need to cope with an excess of psychological strain among the public,post-COVID patients,and those with a previously diagnosed psychiatric condition,mental health programs faced a substantial decline in services,mirroring the dramatic rise in psychological ***,certain coping strategies play protective or deleterious effects on mental health ***,social media exposure has played a double-edged role in the mental health of the public during the pandemic,leaving grounds for further *** cultural themes have taken center stage in the discussion on social resilience and compliance to COVID-19 measures,driving their impact through cer-tain work ethics,social capital,and public attitudes in different *** the other hand,exceedingly rising poverty rates cemented the deleterious economic impact of the *** has been called to the racial implications of the pandemic,driving millions of individuals with low socioeconomic position(SEP)and belong-ing to minority groups out of the paid ***,we turn attention to an array of elements impli-cated in this dramatic effect,such as public transport,living arrangements,and health insurance coverage among these vulnerable *** attempt to address the mechanisms COVID-19 channeled its mental health and socioeconomic impacts by explaining the risk factors and pave the way for stronger crisis management in the future by evaluating the socioeconomic and psychological effects in stark detail.

Analysis of labor Embodied in China's Inter-regional Trade in Value-Added: Re-Examination of Leontief's Paradox from the Perspective of Energy Use

Based on the multi-regional input-output framework, this paper analyzed the labor and energy transfer embodied in interregional trade in China. Meanwhile, through estimating the energy intensity per unit of labor embodied in final products in each region, this study examines whether the empirical results are consistent with the theoretical hypothesis and provides relevant explanations and industrial development suggestions. Results show that east coastal region and central region are the two main participants in interregional trade. As for the labor embodied in trade, east coastal region is the largest exporter of embodied labor, though it has the highest wage among eight regions; in contrast, north coastal and southwestern region, with relatively low wage, are the two largest importer of embodied labor. As for the energy embodied in trade, northwestern region is the largest exporter of embodied energy. Further analysis indicates that the energy intensity per unit of labor in region with relatively low GRP(such as northwestern region) is the highest,whereas those in Beijing-Tianjin Region and south coastal region(with relatively high GRP) are the lowest. By analyzing the Revealed Comparative Advantage in each region, the paper finds that the main reason for this inconsistency lies in the industrial structure in northwestern and north coastal region, which are highly dependent in primary industries. Improving the infrastructure and upgrading industrial structure are important steps for these regions to transform the extensive growth mode.

This study examines the trade-led growth(TLG)hypothesis for the Kingdom of Saudi *** time-series annual data for the period 1985-2019,the ARDL approach and Toda-Yamamoto Granger causality test are applied to accomplish the *** ARDL estimation reveals that trade openness positively causes economic growth in both the long and short run,and the TLG hypothesis is found valid for the *** Toda-Yamamoto Granger causality test results have evidenced several unidirectional *** them,trade openness causes economic growth and supports the ARDL finding and hence the TLG hypothesis for the ***,trade openness causes gross fixed capital formation,and the labor force stimulates both economic growth and trade *** findings recommend that the Kingdom may increase its trade to reap further benefits and enhance its income growth.

The paper provides an overview and analysis of select current data on international migration to United States of America from all over the globe and forecasts/estimates of future trends of immigration by using statistical technique--Regression Analysis. The Bayesian probability model has been referred and utilized to marginalized extent. The paper also discusses about the immigrants diversity, concentration in some select States and labor force characteristics by demography, region, age, sex, and education. The income generated by the immigrants and their contribution towards the economic, technological, and social development of the country is studied. The paper also considers the trends of illegal immigrants and it concludes with an analysis of the issues, dilemmas, and implications of immigration with human resource perspective in mind. It also provides material to the planners, government of USA for policy formulation.

Business analysts worldwide use the standard theories and tools of macroeconomics and finance to determine the investment, trade or production possibilities in foreign markets. These evaluations are generally supported by three sources： estimations of using country-specific macroeconomic data on which they can determine patterns of growth, inflation, unemployment, productivity, income per capita, etc.; timely data on current conditions and developments in production, income and spending; and institutional information on policy makers, business practices and financial markets. This paper focuses on the first two where we examine the publically available macroeconomic data for the Kingdom of Bahrain to determine their reliability. Among our findings are：（1） creating a reliable data base of macroeconomic data is difficult due to data revision and incomplete data gathering; （2） the movement of standard macro-variables is often unusual, leading one to question further the reliability of the data; （3） based on available data it appears that the growth in Bahrain has been driven almost solely by an increase in the number of people working, with little to no apparent rise in productivity; and （4） the growth of GDP will eventually be constrained by physical limits on population growth, and can be improved only if ways can be found to increase the productivity of the workforce.

The large shift of surplus labor from agriculture to industry and services is seen in many countries around the world as well as in Vietnam in the process of industrialization and modernization of the country that has set questions about the sustainability of rural surplus labor： is there still a source of surplus labor in rural areas？ If so, how large is the source of surplus labor and how long it can be lasting？ These questions were hotly debated in the literature abroad. But in Vietnam there is very little or hardly exchanged opinions about the concepts and methods of measurement of surplus labor in general and surplus labor in agriculture in particular. This article refers to the measurement approach of surplus labor in agriculture in Vietnam.

This paper aims to investigate the effects of labor allocation distortions and various levels of distortion-free labor allocation on social output in China's primary,secondary and tertiary *** model creation and empirical study have led us to the following findings:the quantity of workforce in China's primary industry exceeds the quantity of workforce under the scenario of distortion-free labor allocation and the same is generally true for China's tertiary ***,the quantity of labor allocation in secondary industry is significantly below the level of distortion-free allocation but the share of allocation distortion overall tends to *** allocation distortions for various sectors are mainly caused by intra-sectoral allocation distortions and sectoral wage differences,of which the effect of internal distortion factor is the most *** terms of total output,the eliminations of total distortion,wage difference distortion and internal allocation distortion will all cause total social output to exceed original output,and labor reallocation accompanying capital change will not only bring about a further increase of output but may offset the defects of limited potentials of labor resources *** rates with the eliminations of wage difference distortion,internal allocation distortion and superimposed factor can basically explain for the growth rates with the elimination of all *** this background,it is necessary to take effective measures at an early date to reduce China s labor allocation distortions and improve overall economic efficiency.
