local community detection aims to find a cluster of nodes by exploring a small region of the *** community detection methods are faster than traditional global community detection methods because their runtime does not depend on the size of the entire network. However, most existing methods do not take the higher-order connectivity patterns crucial to the network into consideration. In this paper, we develop a new local Community Detection method based on network Motif(LCD-Motif) which incorporates the higher-order network information. LCD-Motif adopts the local expansion of a seed set to identify the local community with minimal motif conductance, representing a generalization of the conductance metric for network motifs. In contrast to PageRanklike diffusion methods, LCD-Motif finds the community by seeking a sparse vector in the span of the local spectra,such that the seeds are in its support vector. We evaluate our approach using real-world datasets across various domains and synthetic networks. The experimental results show that LCD-Motif can achieve a higher performance than state-of-the-art methods.

A dual probe, i.e., high resolution scanning piezo-thermal microscopy, is developed and employed to characterize the local piezoresponse and thermal behaviors of ferroelastic domains in multiferroic BiFeO3 thin films. Highly in- homogeneous piezoelectric responses are found in the thin film. A remarkably local thermal transformation across ferroelastic domain walls is clearly demonstrated by the quantitative 3w signals related to thermal conductivity. Different polarization oriented ferroelastic domains are found to exhibit different local thermal responses. The underlying mechanism is possibly associated with the inhomogeneous stress distribution across the ferroelastic domain wails, leading to different phonons scattering contributions in the BiFeO3 thin film.

Here we study the problems of local asymptotic normality of the parametric family of distri-butions and asymptotic minimax efficient estimators when the observations are subject to right censor-ing. local asymptotic normality will be established under some mild regularity conditions. A lower bound for local asymptotic minimax risk is given with respect to a bowl-shaped loss function, and fur-thermore a necessary and sufficient condition is given in order to achieve this lower bound. Finally, we show that this lower bound can be attained by the maximum likelihood estimator in the censored case and hence it is local asymptotic minimax efficient.

local and parallel finite element algorithms based on two-grid discretization for Navier-Stokes equations in two dimension are presented. Its basis is a coarse finite element space on the global domain and a fine finite element space on the subdomain. The local algorithm consists of finding a solution for a given nonlinear problem in the coarse finite element space and a solution for a linear problem in the fine finite element space, then droping the coarse solution of the region near the boundary. By overlapping domain decomposition, the parallel algorithms are obtained. This paper analyzes the error of these algorithms and gets some error estimates which are better than those of the standard finite element method. The numerical experiments are given too. By analyzing and comparing these results, it is shown that these algorithms are correct and high efficient.

Numerous land-use policies have been implemented in China in recent decades for ecological restoration and conservation to reduce environmental disasters and promote environmental *** of these policies follow a top-down approach to implementation and as such,emphasize the hierarchical control within government *** understanding of local perceptions of land-use policies is important if the disconnect between policy makers and the target population is to be reduced and if program support is to *** study aimed to help improve local implementation,attitude toward,and engagement by examining the influence of socio-economic characteristics on the target population’s(local farmers)perception of the conversion of cropland to forestland program(CFPP)land use policy in Jiangxi,Sichuan,and Shaanxi *** uses logistical regression models,with robust aspects of perception including confidence,support,transparency,prospects,fairness,and willingness to *** indicate that social aspects as well as economic aspects are most important in influencing farmers’perceptions towards the *** farmers who have received technical support,rural male habitants,educated,and non-middle-aged farmers exhibit more positive perceptions of the program and are much more likely to support it,whereas farmers without any technical support or formal education,and female and middle-aged farmers are less likely to support the ***,this study also reveals the differences in responses,experiences and perceptions of the farmers living across different *** empirical results provide insight into the influence of socio-economic characteristics on the perception of farmers towards land-use policies,which has important implications for designing targeted policy instruments and increasing farmer support for these *** knowledge can be harnessed and further evaluated in future research to improve citizen engagement,support

In [1], a kind of periodic cardinal interpolatory function (PCIF) is constructed, and they also use it to construct periodic wavelets. But the localizationl of PCIF is not known yet. In this paper, we studv the local property of PCIF using two different methods. The results show that PCIF has very good localization. Some new properties of Bernoulli spline are also introduced.

The Brownian motion and super-Brownian motion on the Sierpinski gasket are studied. Firstly it is proved that the local extinction property is possessed by the super-Brownian motion on this fractal structure. This fact is also true even in the presence of catalyst. Secondly it is proved that the paths of the Brownian motion on the Sierpinski gasket are dense in some sense.
