The paper presents a successful design and good result of grid voltage feed-forward control strategy with no damping regulator of LCL filter applied in Three-phase Pulse Width Modulation( PWM) rectifier under unbalance grid condition for renewable energy processing. It is demonstrated that the closed-loop current control is decoupled with the grid voltage feed-forward control,and good waveform of grid current with low order harmonics is obtained under unbalance grid condition. This novel strategy is simple and reliable,applied with PI regulator but no resonant controller in α,β two-phase stationary frame. Moreover,the results of experiment and simulation are also illustrated to validate the novel strategy well applied in the closed-loop current control system under unbalanced grid condition.

Active damped lcl-filter-based inverters have been widely used for grid-connected distributed generation(DG) systems. In weak grids, however, the phase-locked loop(PLL) dynamics may detrimentally affect the stability of grid-connected inverters due to interaction between the PLL and the controller. In order to solve the problem, the impact of PLL dynamics on small-signal stability is investigated for the active damped lcl-filtered grid-connected inverters with capacitor voltage feedback. The system closed-loop transfer function is established based on the Norton equivalent model by taking the PLL dynamics into account. Using an established model, the system stability boundary is identified from the viewpoint of PLL bandwidth and current regulator gain. The accuracy of the ranges of stability for the PLL bandwidth and current regulator gain is verified by both simulation and experimental results.

In the interconnection of large capacity photovoltaic inverters,the total inductance of LCL filters will directly affect the size and cost of the filters.Therefore,a parameter optimization method is proposed to minimize the total inductance according to the filter performance requirements.This method establishes the functional relationship between the total inductance and the main design parameters by shunt ratio parameters of capacitor branch and inductance branch of power grid.The parameter conditions of minimum total inductance and the solution method are given.

Grid-connected inverter, as one of the core components of power system, plays an important role in renewable energy generation. Many control methods for inverters are widely studied. Among them, finite control set model predictive control（FCS MPC） has many advantages, such as fast transient response, simple implementation and convenience to consider nonlinear and constraints. However, FCS MPC also has some shortcomings, one of which is that the performance of predictive algorithm is easily affected by the system model. The performance of the traditional FCS MPC algorithm is susceptible to model errors and parameter variations. To solve this problem, an adaptive FCS MPC algorithm is designed in this paper. The single-phase inverter with LCL filter is selected as the control plant. Since the use of sensors will increase the cost of system, how to reduce the number of sensors is also researched. The traditional FCS MPC and proposed adaptive FCS MPC algorithm with fewer sensors are simulated respectively. The effectiveness of proposed method is confirmed by the results.

The grid-connected photovoltaic（PV） power generation is expected to be more widespread and paid more attention. In order to suppress the high-frequency harmonic current of PV grid-connected inverters, LCL filter is utilized to lower the current total harmonic distortion rate. On the basis of LCL filter, double-loop current control scheme with the quasi proportional-resonant method is designed. The proposed control method can reduce the steady-state error of the current, and eliminate the impact of the grid frequency offset on the net current. And the system oscillation caused by the resonance frequency can be decreased, too. Therefore, the stability and robustness of the grid-connected system are improved. Simulation is implemented, and the simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

The design of reliable controllers for wind energy conversion systems(WECSs)requires a dynamic model and accurate parameters of the wind generator.In this paper,a dynamic model and the parameter measurement and control of a direct-drive variable-speed WECS with a permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG)are presented.An experimental method is developed for measuring the key parameters of the PMSG.The measured parameters are used in the design of the controllers.The generator-side converter is controlled using a vector control scheme that maximizes the power extraction under varying wind speeds.A model predictive controller(MPC)is designed for the grid-side voltage source converter(VSC)to regulate the active and reactive power flows to the power grid by controlling the d-and q-axis currents in the synchronous reference frame.The MPC predicts the future values of the control variables and takes control actions based on the minimum value of the cost functions.To comply with the grid code requirement,a modified design approach for an LCL filter is presented and incorporated into the system.The design process is simple and incorporates significant filter parameters while avoiding iterative calculations.The comparative analysis of the designed filter with conventional L,LC,and iterative LCL filters demonstrates the effectiveness of the modified design approach.The proposed wind energy system with MPC and LCL filter is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and experimentally implemented in the laboratory using the dSpace digital signal processor(DSP)system.The simulation and experimental results validate the efficacy of the designed controllers using the measured parameters and show dynamic and steady-state performance under varying wind speeds.

This paper proposes a control strategy for interface of distributed energy sources into the weak grid system with a focus on the energy and ancillary services.A novel controller has been designed and implemented to tackle the challenges of coupling terms in the LCL filter,the transient behavior under sudden changes,and the voltage support under fault condition using the feedback linearization technique.The controller proposed has been implemented on the PV system connected with the weak grid using the LCL filter and the performance of the controller has been verified using Matlab/Simulink through simulation under different conditions.The results of the controller proposed have been compared with the conventional PI dual loop controller.The simulation results obtained demonstrate the effectiveness and simplicity of the controller design strategy.

Transformerless grid-connected inverters offer greater efficiencies when transferring power from renewable energy sources to the electrical grid.If the grid-inverter connection is done with an LCL filter,high attenuation of switching harmonics is achieved while preserving a small-size output filter.However,damping must be included in the controller to assure closed-loop stability.This paper proposes a reference computation methodology for the inverter-side current feedback in a photovoltaic(PV)generation system connected to the grid through an LCL filter.Theoretical analysis of the closed-loop system stability and of the steady-state performance are presented as well as experimental validation of the closed-loop performance.The feedback controller includes active damping and relies on a resonant control structure which improves the ability of dealing with grid harmonic distortion.The controller uses a reduced set of measurements,which requires the inverter-side current and grid voltage only,and assures a power factor close to unity.

The application of LCL filters has become popular for inverters connected to the power grid due to their advantages in harmonic current reductions. However,the power grid in a distribution system is non-ideal, presenting itself as a voltage source with significant impedance. This means that an inverter using an LCL filter may interact with other grid-connected inverters via the nonideal grid. In this paper, damping optimization of lclfilters to reduce this interaction is studied for a three-phase voltage source inverter(VSI). Simulation results show that resonant oscillation occurs in a distributed power grid, even if the VSI with an LCL filter is well designed for standalone applications. A small-signal analysis is performed to predict this stability problem and to locate the boundary of the instability using an impedance approach. Based on these analytical results, optimized damping of the lclfilter can be designed. The oscillation phenomena and optimized damping design are verified by simulations and experimental measurements.
