The concept and division method for petroleum accumulation system,based on layer structure,are presented according to characteristics of layer structure and reservoirs. The petroleum accumulation system of jiyang depression can be divided into four levels,namely petroleum accumulation system combination,petroleum accumulation system,oil-gas reservoir combination and reservoir. The petro-leum accumulation system combination includes three types of genetic pattern: other-source bur-ied-ridge accumulation system combination in pre-Paleogene,medium-deep layer self-source accu-mulation system combination in Paleogene,and shallow layer other-source accumulation system combination in Neogene. This paper also describes the reservoir types and their distribution charac-teristics of different petroleum accumulation system combinations and their interior units.

Based on the geo-temperature data of 13 systematically continuous temperature log curves and 700 testing oil boreholes in jiyang depression, Shengli Oilfield, and the measured thermal conductivities of 47 rock samples, the terrestrial heat flow densities of 114 boreholes of jiyang depression and its surrounding areas are determined, including 13 of those data derived from systemically continuous temperature logging. The results show that jiyang depression has a relatively high background heat flow with an average value (65.8 5.4) mW/m2. The lateral variation of heat flow in basin has negative correlation with basement depth. Moreover, heat flow of uplift areas with shallower basement is high, so are those of regions with volcanic rocks, and those of depression areas with deep basement are relatively low. The heat flow densities of different structural units of jiyang depression can be summarized as follows: The average heat flow value of Zhanhua sag is (67.4 5.3) mW/m2, higher than that of the whole basin, that of Dongying sag is (66.0 6.1) mW/m2, and that of Chezhen sag is (65.1 3.7) mW/m2. It is apparent that these latter two values are approximate to the average value of the whole jiyang depression, while the average value of Huimin sag is (63.65.0) mW/m2, lower than that of the whole basin. In fact, the basement depth and the distribution framework of uplift and depression areas are all controlled by the process of lithosphere extension. In addition, the distribution of volcanic rocks in basin is also relatively close to this extension geodynamic process. In summary, the distribution characteristics of terrestrial heat flow of jiyang depression is determined by the Cenozoic tectono-thermal events of this region.

It is demonstrated by various geochemical indexes that the Zhengjia-Wangzhuang Oilfield with viscous crude oil in the jiyang Depression has been sourced from the contribution of matured source rocks in the upper Es4. The principal cause leading to the densification of crude oils would be biodegradation, with the degradation level of crude oils being ranked as 2-8; vertically, the biodegradation level increases from the top to bottom of the oil column, with a distinctive biodegradation gradient occurring. Calculated parameters of sterane, terpane and methyl-phenanthrene have indicated that the source-rock’s maturity of crude oils and asphaltic sands ranges from 0.7 to 0.9, and based on the calculation of Easy Ro model, the temperature of hydrocarbon generation in the source rock would be within 120-140℃, which coincides with the measurements of reservoir inclusions. jiyang Depression, located in the southeast Bohai Bay Basin, has the geomorpho-logic framework of multiple uplifts intervening with sags. Combined the abundant geo-temperature data and thermo-physical parameters of rock samples derived from oil and gas exploration during the past years, with geothermal approaches, here we investigate the litho-spheric thermal regime of this depression. Consequently, based on the obtained thermal struc-ture of the lithosphere, along with rheological modeling, the lithospheric rheological profiles of jiyang Depression are then determined. Our results show that the temperature at the bottom of sedimentary cover within depression varies from 129℃ to 298 ℃ , accompanied with the base-ment heat flow ranging between 54.3 and 60.5 mW/m2; and 406℃-436℃ for temperature at the bottom of the upper crust, along with heat flow varying from 47.7 to 52.6 mW/m2; while the tem-perature at the bottom of the middle crust is between 537 ℃ and 572 ℃, as well as heat flow ranging from 41.3 to 56.3 mW/m2. The temperature at Moho ranges from 669 ℃ to 721 ℃, the heat flow derived from mantle is between 38.1 and 43.1 mW/m2, and calculated thickness of the thermal lithosphere beneath depression varies from 71 to 90 km. Lithospheric thermal regime is a close correlation with such factors as crustal thickness and surface heat flow, etc. Usually, the larger the surface heat flow, the larger the deep temperature and heat flow within lithosphere, and the thinner the thermal lithospheric thickness. This high thermal regime of the lithosphere in jiyang Depression is thought to be related to Cenozoic back-arc spreading during the western Pacific plate subduction into Eurasian continent. Lithospheric rheological modeling shows that the lithosphere in jiyang Depression is characterized by its distinct rheological stratification as follows: The upper and most part of the middle crust are of brittle, while the lower crust and the lower part of middle crust are all ductile

The Bohai Bay basin comprises some very important and well documented subtle traps known in China, which have been the major exploration focus and have become a major petroleum play since the 1990s. However, recent exploration showed that the oil-bearing proper-ties of some sand lens reservoirs may vary significantly and the accumulation mechanisms for these lithological subtle traps are not well understood. Based on statistical analysis of oil-bearing properties for 123 sand lens reservoirs in the jiyang Sub-basin and combined with detailed anatomy of typical sand lens reservoirs and NMR experiments, it has been shown that the structural and sedimentary factors, hydrocarbon generation and expulsion conditions of the sur-rounding source rocks, as well as the petrophysical properties of sand lens reservoirs are the main controlling factors for the formation of sand lens reservoirs. The formation of a sand lens reservoir depends on the interaction between the hydrocarbon accumulation driving force and the resistance force. The driving force is made up of the differential capillary pressure between sandstones and sources rocks and the hydrocarbon diffusion force, and as well as the hydro-carbon expansion force. The resistance force is the friction resistance force for hydrocarbons and water to move through the pore throats of the sand lens. The sedimentary environment, source rock condition and sand reservoir properties can change from unfavorable to favorable depend-ing on the combination of these factors. When these three factors all reach certain thresholds, the sand lens reservoirs may begin to be filled by hydrocarbons. When all of these conditions be-come favorable for the formation of sand lens reservoirs, the reservoir would have high oil satu-ration. This approach has been applied to evaluating the potential of petroleum accumulation in the sand lens reservoirs in the third member of the Neogene Shahejie Formation in the jiyang Sub-basin.

Regional stratigraphic unconformity surfaces are commonly observed in both orogenic beltsand sedimentary basins. They have superficially simple features, but in fact contain abundant geo-logic and geodynamic in formation on basin evolution, which was rarely systematically *** on the elaborate research on geologic characteristics of the stratigraphic unconformity sur-face between the Neogene and the Paleogene in the jiyang depression, Bohai Bay basin, EasternChina, this paper reconstructed its formation process and paleotopography in the late Oligocene. ltis the most interesting that this stratigraphic uncon formity surface represents the transiton of thejiyang depression evolution from rifting extension to thermal down-warping and also implies an u-plift process during the transition. This paper thought it worthy to study the origin of thisstratigraphic uncohformity surface and its relation to the stage transition of basin evolution. ThenpossibIe influences of regional stress field and deep dynamic process variations on the stratigraphicunconforrnity surface formation were anaIyzed. The stratigraphic unconformity surface betweenthe Neogene and the Paleogene in the jiyang depression should be the direct result of extremestretching of llthosphere and diapirism of hot upper mantle, which can also possibly explain the co-incidence of the unconformity surface formation with the stage transition of basin evolution. Fur-thermore. the influences of the stratigraphic unconformity surface formation on oil and gas accu-mulation, the erosion amount calculation, and the elaborate time structure recorded by thestratigraphic unconformity surface were discussed.
