Molar tooth(briefly called MT) carbonate is one of the Proterozoic carbonates with enigmatic sedimentary structure. According to the morphology of MT,it can be divided into two main genesis-morphology types,i.e.,autochthonous and allochthonous,and each type can be further divided into a series of subtypes. The autochthonous MT can be divided into filamentous(MF1) ,ribbon,nodular and dotted type(MF4) ,in which the ribbon one can be subdivided into simple vertical(MF2) and complex ribbon(MF3) ,broken ribbon by storm in situ(MF5) and MT within nodular limestone(MF6) . Allochthonous MT includes conglomerate clasts and horizontal detritus. Studying on the links between MT and the host rocks on five stratigraphic sections in the southeastern jilin and eastern Liaoning indicates that the morphology of MT is closely related to host rocks,and seven genetic types by relationships between MT and the host rocks with facies interpretations are classified and discussed in this paper. The sedimentary environments of MT formation will be diverse if their morphologies are different.

Cold Wave Climate Characteristics and Risk Zoning in jilin Province

Using the meteorological data of 50 stations in jilin Province from 1961 to 2016, the demographic and economic data, and geographical information of all counties and cities aims to conduct the risk zoning of cold wave disasters in jilin Province. The results show that, since 1961, the average number of cold wave occurrences per year in jilin Province is 8.3 days, of which the highest number of occurrences occurred in February, followed by December and January, and the spring cold wave occurred mostly in March. From the map of cold-sea disaster risk zoning in jilin Province, due to factors such as topography and land use distribution, the west and east of jilin Province have a certain resilience to the disasters caused by cold waves, and the risk of disasters is low. The distribution of agricultural facilities and large areas of farmland in the central region are extremely sensitive to cold wave disasters and have a high risk of disasters. Areas with high risk of cold wave are mainly concentrated in Siping City, Changchun City, Liaoyuan City, jilin City, northern Tonghua City and most of Baishan City. Areas with low cold wave risk are mainly concentrated in most of Baicheng City, most of Songyuan City and Yanbian Prefecture. And other places are moderately risky areas of cold waves.

The Paleoproterozoic borate deposits in Liaoning and jilin provinces are the largest Precambrian borate de posits in the world. The borates were deposited in an evaporitic setting of active continental margin. The volcan ics contained within the borates are enriched in LILE as a result of mantle metasomatism in a subduction zone. The geochemical features of the Liaoning jilin borate deposits are similar to the Cenozoic ones, all of which are located in subduction collision zones. The boron enrichment in the Paleoproterozoic metamorphic rocks is be lieved to have arisen from the release of fluids during subduction prior to a collision event. Cenozoic analogs to the Liaoning jilin borates include those in Turkey and the Qinghai Tibet area, which are related to the Alpine and Himalayan collisional orogenies, respectively. We propose that the boron enrichment in ancient mobile belt may be indicative of a subduction/collision related paleotectonic setting.

Based on the results of four regional geological surveys of 1: 50000 including Shulan County map in jilin,taking Shulan area as the study area,the authors re-delineated the rock type assemblages,e.g. metamorphic rhyolite,metamorphic tuffaceous breccia lava,sericite-quartz schist and tremolite altered rock,etc.,and the structural contacts between them. With the help of in-situ LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating for zircons,it is concluded that the zircon crystallization ages of the metamorphic rhyolite,the metamorphic andesitic tuff breccia lava and the tremolite altered rock are 339. 1 ± 1. 3 Ma( n = 27,MSWD = 0. 78),351. 8 ± 1. 7 Ma( n = 21,MSWD = 0.82),and 362.0±1.8 Ma( n = 43,MSWD = 2.2) respectively. The metamorphic complex is actually a set of tectonic melange which comprises the rocks in different types,sources,times,or tectonic settings,and was formed by tectonism.
