OBJECTIVE:To further evaluate the complementary effect of Yiqi Huoxue jiedu decoction(YHJD)on patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC).METHODS:All 330 enrolled participants diagnosed with stageⅢc EOC were randomly divided into two groups that received YHJD or a *** primary end point was health-related quality of life(HRQL)measured by the functional assessment of cancer therapy-ovary cancer(FACT-O)*** secondary end point was progression-free survival(PFS).RESULTS:A total of 299 participants completed the trial with 153 and 146 in YHJD and control groups,*** 6 months of treatment,YHJD increased physical wellbeing(PWB),functional wellbeing(FWB),additional concerns(AC),and the trial outcome index(TOI)(P<0.05)by various degrees compared with the *** also had notable advantages over the placebo at 3 and 6 months in terms of PWB,FWB,AC(P<0.05),and TOI(P<0.01).In addition,YHJD had a significant advantage in terms of PFS compared with the placebo(21 vs18 months,P<0.05).No adverse events were ***:YHJD is an effective and safe choice as a complementary therapy to improve HRQL and prolong PFS of stageⅢc EOC patients.

Objective: To analyze the active compounds, potential drug targets and therapy diseases of Jianpi jiedu Recipe (JPJDR) based on network pharmacology and bioinformatics technology, and verify the biological function of some active compounds by cytology experiments. Methods: The online databases including TCMSP, TCMID, Cancer HSP, TCM-PTD, TCM Database@Taiwan and DrugBank were applied to screen the active compounds and the potential drug targets of JPJDR. Cytoscape 3.3 software was executed to construct the network between active compounds and drug targets. DAVID database was used to probe the effective diseases and analyze the involved KEGG pathways according to the predicted targets corresponding to JPJDR. Results: According to the rules of oral bioavailability (OB)>30% and drug-likeness (DL)>0.18, 58 of 513 effective compounds in JPJDR were screened out, as well as the corresponding 437 potential drug targets. By the analysis of DAVID database, all these key targets were associated closely with the occurrence and development of metabolic disorders and cancers, and all the targets were closely correlated with the pathways in cancer. Further analysis demonstrated that, there were a lot of effective compounds in JPJDR, such as Quercetin, Formononetin, Stigmasterol, Diosgenin,β-sitsterol, Oxymatrine, Kaempferol, Isorhamnetin and Ampelopsis. The results of cell proliferation experiments further showed that, among the selected nine key traditional Chinese medicine compounds, only Ampelopsis can dose-dependently inhibit the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells. Conclusions: Through network pharmacology analysis, we found that JPJDR contains many effective compounds which may directly target to the cancer-related proteins. 9 compounds were the major active compounds with high degrees of targets. Exploration on Shufeng jiedu Capsule for Treatment of COVID-19 Based on Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking

The paper is proposed to explore the potential effects of Shufeng jiedu Capsule against COVID-19. The ingredients and targets of Shufeng jiedu Capsule were collected by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP), and the gene names of potential targets were extracted by UniProtKB. Then we did protein-protein interaction networks functional enrichment analysis by the STRING platform, reconstructed drug-target pathways and networks to predict the likely protein targets of the capsule against COVID-19 with software Cytoscape 3.6.1, and carried out GO enrichment analysis and KEGG analysis with R 5.3.2 software. At last we validated our predictions on molecular docking. The results suggested that Shufeng jiedu Capsule contained 155 ingredients and 237 targets, including 26 main active ingredients and 45 key targets. There were 2334 biological processes (BP), 103 cell composition (CC) and 198 molecular functions (MF) in GO Enrichment Analysis, and 177 pathways in the KEGG analysis. The molecular docking analysis showed that binding energy for 26 main active ingredients ranged from -32.21 to -25.94 kJ·mol-1, and the main targets bind to SARS-CoV-2 3CL hydrolase by acting on CASP9, PRKCA, RELA and others. Our study suggested that Shufeng jiedu Capsule has potential therapeutic effects on COVID-19.

Objective: To analyze the active compounds, potential drug targets and corresponding therapy cancer of Bushen jiedu Sanjie Recipe (BSJDSJR) based on network pharmacology and bioinformatics technology. Methods: The network databases including Cancer HSP, TCMSP, TCMID, TCM-PTD, TCM Database@Taiwan and DrugBank were applied to screen the active compounds, potential drug targets and corresponding cancers of BSJDSJR. Cytoscape3.3 software was used to construct the network between active compounds of Chinese medicine and the corresponding targets. Then, the enrichment of biological processes and KEGG pathways of BSJDSJR were analyzed using DAVID database. Results: According to Oral bioavailability (OB)≥30% and drug like index (DL)≥0.18, 129 active compounds in BSJDSJR were screened out and they targeted to 301 proteins. These targets were closely associated with the occurrence of various cancers, such as bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and colorectal cancer. Further investigation showed that, there were lots of active compounds in BSJDSJR are closely connected with the COX-2/β-catenin signaling pathway, STAT3 signaling pathway and MAPK/ERK signaling pathway. Conclusions: Based on the network pharmacology, the study disclosed the active chemical compounds, potential targets and possible action cancers of BSJDSJR.

Effects of Huanglian jiedu Decoction on Rat Gingivitis Induced by LPS

[Objectives] To evaluate the effects of Huanglian jiedu Decoration( HLJD) on the treatment of rat gingivitis with excess internal heat through injecting lipopolysaccharide( LPS) in tooth-supporting tissues. [Methods]Gingival inflammation was established by LPS injection. Male SD rats were randomly divided into 7 groups: normal control group( no treatment group),solvent control group,model group( LPS injection),HLJD low dose group( 0. 25 g/kg),HLJD medium dose group( 0. 50 g/kg),HLJD high dose group( 1. 00 g/kg),and metronidazole and fenbufen capsule( MFC) group. Water intake and urine volume were observed through metabolic cage feeding; gingival tissue protein expressions were detected by LC-ESI-MS/MS method; oxidative stress-related molecules such as total superoxide dismutase( T-SOD) and hydrogen peroxidase catalase( CAT) were detected by the biochemical kit combined with a microplate reader; expressions of TSC related with energy metabolism-related signaling pathway were detected by western blotting. [Results]When rat gingivitis was injected by LPS,both water intake and urine volume were decreased,the levels of T-SOD and CAT were decreased,and the expressions of fructose-bisphosphate aldolase C,triosephosphate isomerase 1 and TSC2 were increased. Huanglian jiedu Decoration can increase water intake and urine volume,increase the levels of T-SOD and CAT,reduce the expressions of fructose-bisphosphate aldolase C and triosephosphate isomerase 1,and inhibit the expression of energy metabolism-related pathway molecule TSC2. [Conclusions] Huanglian jiedu Decoration can treat rat gingivitis through inhibiting energy metabolism and oxidative stress such as TSC signal pathway and glycolysis related molecules.

Objective:To study the clinical efficacy of Huanglian jiedu decoction in treating acute ischemic stroke(AIS)and its effects on inflammatory factors and oxidative ***:A total of 53 patients with AIS were recruited as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group using a random number table *** control group consisted of 26 patients and the treatment group consisted of 27 *** control group received conventional Western medicine *** control group received routine Western medicine treatment,while the treatment group received Huanglian jiedu decoction based on the control group,with 14 days as a course of *** effects of Huanglian jiedu decoction on neurological function and activities of daily living were evaluated using the National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)and activities of daily living(ADL)*** effects of Huanglian jiedu decoction on inflammatory reactions and oxidative stress were evaluated by detecting interleukin-4(IL-4),interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),transforming growth factorβ(TGF-β),total antioxidative capacity(T-AOC),malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and catalase(CAT)***:After treatment with Huanglian jiedu Decoction,the ALD scores of AIS patients in both groups increased,while the NISHH scores decreased,suggesting that Huanglian jiedu Decoction has therapeutic effects on AIS *** also reduces the levels of serum IL-6,TNF-α,MDA in AIS patients and increases the levels of IL-4,TGF-β,CAT,SOD,T-AOC,suggesting that Huanglian jiedu decoction can improve the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant abilities of AIS ***:Huanglian jiedu decoction can help AIS patients recover their neurological function,increase their capacity for self-care in daily life,and strengthen the body’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant defenses.

Objective: To observe the clinical effectiveness and safety of fire-needle therapy,an external approach of Chinese medicine in treating plaque ***: This study was a two-parallel-arm randomized controlled trial.A total of 151 participants with plaque psoriasis were randomly assigned to the ?re-needle therapy group(treatment group,76 cases) or the control group(75 cases) at a 1:1 allocation ratio using SAS *** participants received Oral Huoxue jiedu Decoction(活血解毒汤,HXJDD) and applied externally vaseline cream twice a *** in the treatment group received ?re-needle therapy once weekly for 4 weeks plus HXJDD and vaseline cream applied the same as the control *** primary outcome measure was Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI) score,and the secondary outcomes were Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQL),and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA),as well as Chinese medicine(CM) syndrome score and photos of target *** indices were evaluated before and after ***: Sixty-eight patients in each group completed the *** treatment group has not yet achieved signi?cant improvement in PASI score(P>0.05)compared to the control ***,signi?cant differences were found between the two groups in relieving CM syndrome(P<0.05) and improving quality of life(P<0.05).Conclusions: Fire-needle appears to be safe and may have bene?t for psoriasis,the short-term treatment and small sample size limit the conclusions of this *** rigorous randomized controlled trials with longer treatment are recommended.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of a 48-week course of adefovir dipivoxil(ADV)plus Chinese medicine(CM)therapy,namely Tiaogan Jianpi Hexue(调肝健脾和血)and Tiaogan jiedu Huashi(调肝解毒化湿)fomulae,in hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)-positive Chinese ***:A total of 605 HBeAg-positive Chinese CHB patients were screened and 590 eligible participants were randomly assigned to 2 groups in 1:1 ratio including experimental group(EG,received ADV plus CM)and control group(CG,received ADV plus CM-placebo)for 48 *** major study outcomes were the rates of HBeAg and HBV-DNA loss on week 12,24,36,48,*** endpoints including liver functions(enzymes and bilirubin readings)were evaluated every 4 weeks at the beginning of week 24,36,and *** blood,urine,and stool analyses in addition to electrocardiogram and abdominal B scan were monitored as safety *** events(AEs)were ***:The combination therapy demonstrated superior HBeAg loss at 48 weeks,without additional *** full analysis population was 560 and 280 in each *** the EG,population achieved HBeAg loss on week 12,24,36,and 48 were 25(8.90%),34(12.14%),52(18.57%),and 83(29.64%),respectively;the equivalent numbers in the CG were 20(7.14%),41(14.64%),54(19.29%),and 50(17.86%),*** was a statistically significant difference between two groups on week 48(P<0.01).No additional AEs were found in *** analysis suggested different outcomes among treatment ***:Combination of CM and ADV therapy demonstrated superior HBeAg clearance compared with ADV *** finding indicates that this combination therapy may provide an improved therapeutic effect and safety profile(ChiCTR-TRC-11001263).
