Generation methodology of isolines of earthquake ground motion

Due to limited financial resources and challenging geographical conditions, the number of seismic observation networks in China is still very small and they are not widely distributed. Therefore, the available earthquake records obtained after an earthquake have been limited. In this paper, auto-generation methods to obtain strong motion isolines under different conditions are proposed. To verify the accuracy of these methods, some examples, including application to the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, are given.

Currently,a non-geocentric geodetic coordinate system introduced in 1942(CS42),based on the Krasovsky ellipsoid and the Baltic system of normal heights introduced in 1977,is used for geodetic works in the Republic of *** development of the GNSS network proposes a task of transition to a new geocentric system based on the World Geodetic System 1984(WGS84)*** software products adopt 3-or 7-parameter conversions,which can cause errors up to several meters and are not suitable for many *** this case,local transformations using a grid of differences between observation points with known coordinates in both datums would give the best *** this paper,we discuss various interpolation methods(Kriging,Minimum Curvature,Inverse Distance to a Power and Radial Basis Function)to solve the distortion modeling between CS42 and WGS84 systems for national datum *** results show that the distortion models share a common tendency for all interpolation methods:the maximum horizontal displacements are concentrated along the West Tien Shan lineament,which is the boundary of the relief *** discrepancies between the grid-based(calculated)and GPS-measured coordinates are *** and spatial analysis has confirmed that for the co-ordinate transformation from CS42 to WGS84 and vice versa,grid-based transformation with Radial Basis Function interpolation has a high accuracy *** of the available data across the eastern part of the country shows that some positional distortions existed between the CS42 and WGS84 *** the best RBF method,the magnitude of these distortions is about 0.019-0.755 m with a standard deviation of 0.015 m.

Field surveys and empirical integrated methods are commonly used in the ecological research to understand the altitudinal pattern of plant diversity of ***,few studies have compared the differences between the two methods on the same ***,we addressed and compared the altitudinal patterns of species richness(SR),phylogenetic diversity(PD),the standardized effect size of phylogenetic diversity(PDses)and mean phylogenetic distance(MPDses)of about 580 angiosperms growing on Mount Kenya from two independent datasets:one is based on our several times field surveys in this mountain and another one is based on empirical data integrated from *** found that the altitudinal diversity patterns of field surveys dataset were consistent with the empirical integrated *** SR and PD showed hump-shaped patterns along the altitude,and both PDses and MPDses showed monotonically decreasing patterns along the *** ratio of diversity between field surveys dataset and empirical integrated dataset were gradually increase along the *** research provides new insight for understanding the altitudinal diversity patterns of plants of a tropical mountain.

A pseudo-random coding side-lobe suppression method based on CLEAN algorithm is *** CLEAN algorithm mainly processes pulse compression results of a pseudo-random coding,and estimates a target＇s distance by a method named interpolation method,so that we can get an ideal pulse compression result of the target,and then use the adjusted ideal pulse compression side-lobe to cut the actual pulse compression result,so as to achieve the remarkable performance of side-lobe suppression for large targets,and let the adjacent small targets *** computer simulations by MATLAB with this method analyze the effect of side-lobe suppression in an ideal or noisy *** is proved that this method can effectively solve the problem due to the side-lobe of pseudo-random coding being too high,and can enhance the radar＇s multi-target detection ability.

This paper investigated several approaches to remapping and combining multiple-radar reflectivity fields onto a unified 3D Cartesian grid with high spatial and temporal resolutions, and analyzed systematic observation differences among multiple radars. The remapping approaches were evaluated by inspecting the spatial consistency of the reflectivity fields on vertical and horizontal cross sections on the equidistant line of radars, and the intensity change of 1-h accumulated precipitation before and after interpolation. The combining approaches were evaluated by continuity examination. The results show that for remapping schemes, the vertical interpolation with nearest neighbor on the range-azimuth plane is the most reasonable scheme that provides consecutive reflectivity fields and retains the high-resolution structure comparable to that of the raw data; for multiple-radar data mosaics, the distance-exponential-weighted mean scheme provides spatially consistent reflectivity mosaics. The mosaics can mitigate various problems caused by the radar beam geometry such as the cone of silence.

10 different species of water mites which are Georgella helvetica, Eylais extendens, Hydrachna globose, Hydrachna prosifera, Hydrachna skorikowi, Hydrodroma despiciens, Hydryphantes dispar, Limnesia fulgida, Eylais setosa, Hydryphantes flexuosus were used in this study. The total masses of these species were measured as mg with the use of an elemental analyzer to calculate the percentage of the organic components of their structures. The achieved values were assessed separately for each species and element with the interpolation method. Out of these organic elements, the amount of C with an approximately value of 50% was the highest for all species while the amounts of S which was approximately 1% was determined as the lowest for almost all species. The observed values were discussed in terms of the systematic of water mites.
